Akon, the singer (dunno if he is still active in the entertainment industry though) made a statement that it's foolish not to invest in crypto https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2018/09/akon-thinks-it-s-foolish-not-to-invest-in-crypto/
Do you think if there are more celebrities who talk about cryptocurrency it would be more widely accepted by the public? I know that products are proven to be effectively marketed by celebrities but would it have the same effect on crypto?

in many poor countries celebrities arent popular by most part of the society.

Yeah. For sure it can help. Same reason why popular celebs and bloggers are called "social influencers." They have the capacity to create attentions about a certain brand or product. They're the best forms of advertisement right now. And besides, people always have this fascination of "living like a celebrity." So yes. Any celebrity endorsement on crypto would be helpful. It could certainly build more trust and thus, contribute to its mass adoption.

Of course, if people will see that celebrities uses cryptocurrency, they will use it too because they will start to trust it because their idols trust it too, specially when they see that their idols benefits from crypto too.
