The game of chess is a person to person game or as the case may be in online, a computer/casino to person kind of game, the only way I can get involved in this game on a casino is, if the casino will make it available as an in-house game where I could play against the house, just like we do with dice, blackjack and the likes.

Playing chess against the house would be a great experience, but this would only be possible if the casino is trustworthy or reputable enough not to try to cheat on the game, so if any casino would build and onboard chess in their platform, and allow winning to be fair for both sides, it would be great.

I wonder what kind of doping can chess players use?

Chess games are very demanding and (paradoxically) they should be fit.

For the beginning you may read that paper:
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/280741588_Doping_for_Chess_Performance
Sound seriously, no?

Let me quote part of abstract:
Quote
An illicit improvement of brain performance for chess playing may be achieved by several measures: 1. Increase of O2 supply by therapy with erythropoietin (EPO) for chess tournaments at high altitudes and for chess players with lung diseases 2. Increase of body glycogen by therapy with insulin 3. mental stimulation by caffeine AAS, anabolic agents, amphetamines, nicotine and cocaine have no proven effect on quality of chess playing. Many steroid- and proteohormones such as cortisol, testosterone, ACTH, EPO, GH, hCG, IGF-I, Insulin, LH, present positive effects on brain development and cognition only when present in natural concentrations during development of brain.

When it comes in betting it is an advantage to know who is the players and to whom we are dealing our money with. Im not aware in Chess gambling in real and online casinos but in our neighborhood and in school before some small betting were made depending on who we give our supports and it's more into the one we're familiar with. There is popular show now in Netflix Queen's Gambit that attracts more gamblers to try chess betting and like other sports gambling this requires us knowledge in the previous games of the players unless they are both newbies then we can base on luck.
Same with other sports or any other fields I.e singing, dancing, gaming, which has an upcoming contests and tournaments on them, there will always be a curiosity to check your opponent and you will try to watch their previous games/performance on youtube so that you will know how they play/perform and you will do some preparation but I think some contenders will try to change their playstyle because they are also aware of this.

Is the Netflix show about chess new? That's great then and I hope it gets popular so that chess sport is also going to be popular as well as this sport is slowly being forgotten anymore. I know a lot of chess players are so disappointed about it. Some of them also want to test their skills and bet on real money but it's hard for them to find a betting site which supports it.

I cannot remember betting on a game of checkers, although I also played a lot of it when I was a kid. What I can only remember is betting on chess games. Chess was a good pastime game when I was younger, way back when there were no cellphones and computers to kill your time. I have made bets on chess games with friends. Those were the good old days. Many of my classmates before knew how to play chess. Today I notice that many kids don't play chess anymore. They're mostly glued on their PC or smart phone.
Yeahhh .... You got that perfectly old boy.... Way back in those old days, we will all gather around in a local joint ( gender wasn't segregated), and we will show our expertise outrightly, that wasn't too hard to figure out who makes the best tag team together -- or prolly, who knows the intricacies of the game. These days, those juvenile would do nothing better than stick to their PCs and Tabs; I don't even feel surprised when they get their chorse done for 'em by their moms or a maid.
Quote
But if there's a PvP platform today for betting, I think I don't trust my chess skills anymore.
I won't even try betting on my first trial after a long time ... No!! That'll just mean throwing away some few bucks carelessly; but I think I won't have much difficulties when trying to get my skills back... I think it's way more easy for someone that has some gaming IQ.

The only names I cannot forget in today's chess are Magnus Carlsen and Ding Liren. So I won't bet on chess tournaments these days only because I am not so updated as to who are the top players these days and their playing styles which matter a lot when it comes to betting.

Besides without knowing players on chess. The main factor why chess betting is not popular is because upsets rarely happened on the regular chess games since most of the game is always calculated by the higher tier grandmaster. Obviously if bookie add this sports then the odds will surely be one sided and no one is interested on this kind of odds.

The only time most upset games happened is on the different type of chess which chess piece is place randomly or the fast phase version with low time frame to think.

That's right. People who are very good stay good. From time to time they lose a game but in general the top GMs stay top GMs until they retire. The only thing you can really bet on is a draw because draws in chess happen more often than in any other game. Usually each player has at least 30% draws in all their games. This makes chess betting pretty unique and unpredictable since you have very high probability of a draw, unlike in other sports like mma or boxing where draws almost never happen.
I wouldn't bet on chess because I don't know enough about the game but it has a large community of people who might be interested.

Chess tournaments as well as checkers may be a good sports field for the betting industry. I know I would bet in a chess match as I already did that against a friend. We have gathered a group pf players in my neighbourhood. Thrn we started with a betting game where we could bet on the winner ot we could bet on first player going for a check. Ithe experiment worked out fine. So, if there was a site where you could bet on checkers or chess would you go for it?
That's equally a nice idea, but before I begin, I will love to ask one question. Do we have any Chess tournaments televised live just like we do have for soccer, MMA and Basketball, played weekly or daily where people go bet on/predict who is going to emerge winner of the tournament?? Do we? Because before thinking about integrating that into the casino,  it must have been something that is already in place physically, played on a regular basis.

Maybe for me not all the time even though I know that game but still it's hard to predict who will win it because in the chess game mind is your weapon once you have a mistake then there's a 50% that you can recover as we all know that your opponent take that advantage to win the match and also nowadays I don't know the background of the players who played in the tournament so I decided. To not bet in chess game maybe I'll do some research before I bet.

If it will be held online, no but it will be held face to face  but through online gambling site why not right? I really love chess since birth and we often make bets during weekends, there's a place in here where most of the people are old we always makes bet with them sometimes for food or small amount of money since we're just too young to make bets we will be reported to our school if they will know. So if there will be an online betting for chess I would love to participate and bet with it.

I played chess a lot when I was a kid but I stopped when I entered college. Last year I tried to follow it again with the purpose of betting but then again life became busy and I really do not have much spare time for it. The only names I cannot forget in today's chess are Magnus Carlsen and Ding Liren. So I won't bet on chess tournaments these days only because I am not so updated as to who are the top players these days and their playing styles which matter a lot when it comes to betting.

If there really is a gambling site that offers chess games for betting, especially if it is on the same level as a soccer gambling board or other sports, for me this is difficult to analyze to conclude the statistical ratio of wins, maybe that can only be taken from the history of the player's wins and losses. just chess without any other calculations.
This game is also easy to modify by bookies, where they can easily arrange who wins and loses because what we know is that chess doesn't have many management teams, so it's easy for bookies to intervene in players to make profits from gamblers who bet on matches chess.

I don't think I'll be betting on a chess match.

Therefore, the game of chess is not adopted by any gambling platform to my knowledge. the reason is, this game is not as interesting as other types of sports, especially those related to gambling. and usually the betting of this game, is carried out by the people who will play it.

I'm not sure the same as you, if it turns out that there are casinos that adopt it as one of the features they offer. we don't have knowledge related to the analysis of this game, and how we will do the betting. and what is the difference with other sports betting, such as football betting. based on this conclusion also i feel, that gambling platforms are not interested in adopting it. also, as you said, this game is also easily modified by bookies. and most importantly, will this game have a strong appeal for gamblers to bet on it. I'm pretty sure, no.

Probably won't. In the first place, I am not into Chess and other board games. Second is, not to conclude but is it not something to be easily manipulated regarding results? Unlike with fighting games wherein fighters would need to be serious of what they are doing because they could endanger their lives, I cannot see anything of a downside to a chess player if he'd manipulate resulta regardless of who'd win. But I won't be trying to set a boundary against those who are into this kind of 'sport'. If it is profitable, then ofcourse there will be people to admire its idea.  But in my end, I'd probably stay with the sports which I enjoy watching to atleast disregard match fixations.
I also have the same doubt. I used to play chess during my high school and college days so I know how the game works so I also believe that it could easily be manipulated which is a huge risk for us bettors. Unlike other sports games, chess is a mind game and we couldn't predict what's on the players' minds so it's hard to make our analysis.
There's a possibility of having a cooked chess game just like any other games out there but I agree that it is somehow easy for chess players to throw a game. Though it is different when professional chess master are playing the game. I'm not fond of playing chess but It's obvious that achieving a chess master title is hard and throwing your title for such money isn't likely to happen. But at the end, I'm not fan of chess and I don't enjoy watching chess game so naahhh, I don't think I will bet on chess games or being interested on it.

Sites like betnomi allow us to bet on chess matches as you can see in the next image:

Some weeks ago there was a nice match, Nakamura VS Magnus. Nakamura was the underdog, he pays something like x4. I bet on him and win, it was just a bad day for Magnus.

Chess is a weird "Sport" to bet on, and most of the Master Vs Master matches end in a draw, so, is not the most exciting "Sport" to bet.

As a chess admirer , I would prefer this sport to be outside of betting because Chess was not meant to be for betting.

I agree. Personally I feel something is wrong in that connection. I know players are people like any others, there are cheaters and people who use doping, but I do not want to see chess games at the same pages as soccer betting etc.
Probably sooner or later we will have bets on chess games because if anything may make money, we will see that implemented.

It always seemed to me that if a tournament is held under the watchful eye of observers, the success of the chess player depends only on his skills and mental abilities. In my opinion, cheating is only possible if the tournament is online and we can't see the chess players.

Magnus Carlsen kinda hinted that it's better to play online than OTB because the latter does not do any strict checks anymore unlike in online tournaments wherein they will thoroughly scan your computer and will ensure that you will not have anything to use that will aid you in cheating. It's not only him who voiced this concern but also other GMs playing at the highest level of chess. I remember Anish Giri once commented about how lax the security measures are in OTB chess compared to online tournaments.

I wonder what kind of doping can chess players use?

That's a good question. Pretty sure they are allowed to drink supplements for memory enhancers at the least. Not sure about other drugs but IIRC microdosing of shrooms and ecstasy is being used by some elite businessmen to keep their mental alertness at its peak during their work hours, so maybe there's that.

Chess became very popular during the pandemic as many people were looking for games to play online from home during the lockdowns. Especially speed and blitz chess saw a real boost and can be played now at any time online against thousands of other people. There are also a lot of smaller tournaments happening now more regularly. Just last month we had the Speed Chess Championship Main Event 2022 where Hikaru Nakamura managed to beat Magnus Carlsen in the finals. I am pretty sure there are already quite a lot of opportunities to bet money on the games. I never really bet money on chess matches, I only follow the matches for entertainment. But I am sure that I saw all the big bookmakers offering quotes for the Speed Chess Championship finals. As for checkers I never really played the game myself and didn't follow any news about it. Are there even any big tournaments happening? If there is no media coverage of it and not many players attending than I don't see a market for betting on it.

I don't know if I will bet on chess or not because I don't really like it. The game of chess is really a game that uses the brain to be able to beat your opponent and maybe not many casinos provide this game as a bet. But if the chess game is played in my neighbourhood, maybe I would bet on a player who I think has good skills in playing chess. But the chess game was not very popular in my environment and the young people near me played basketball.
