Majority of the replies here is an indication that war is bad and not an option. In a war, both the Victor and the Vanquish have something to lose, especially the lives of the innocent civilians.
This war has lingered, I hope the two countries would find reasons to end it already to save the continuous loss of lives and properties.

Looking at the current Russia Ukraine, we will know that it had affected the whole economy of the two countries and this is not funny at all. I don't see any advantage from the war to the two countries. This war had create severe unemployment, scatter the school system and is lead a lots of people to people if this war continues with the goal of ending the war.

Russia is a big country that had the resources to fight against Ukraine with full force but the help of other NATO countries had repelled the ambition of the Russian federation to take over Ukraine. This war had to stop or else people will keep dying.

I guess it would depend on what sort of agreements I had with the Biden administration. It seems the relationship is definitely inappropriate and the US is very clearly providing massive support. Without knowing the twisted set of agreements that pulled the United States into this war in the first place, it’s hard to say what I would or would not have done.

In a conflict, there is no gain. Any nation that fights in war has a great deal to lose.

The lives of each and every one of my citizens would count if I were the president of Ukraine, thus I would try my hardest to avoid starting a war with Russia. If there should be a victory in a battle, I tend not to look at it cos I stand at the verge of losing life and human resources

For Ukrainians to fully heal from the pain and suffering the war against Russia has brought, it will take many years.

Give all before death
After reading through some articles online I realized that despite the negative effects of war, there are still positive outcomes that can be achieved through war.
This brought my attention to the Russian Ukraine war that lasted about 1 year now.

Some positive effects that result from war include "the correction of injustices, the defeat of a problematic government, advancement in technology and medicine, and a reduction of unemployment".

1. My question now is, has Ukraine achieved any of these positive outcomes in the course of the war?

2. As President, would you engage in a war to achieve any of these positive outcomes?
We have to agree that fighting wars have no benefit because any event that leads to the loss of lives and property is not acceptable. The death of young children and others supersedes all the benefits or gains of this senseless war.

This war has thought both parties a big lesson. Russia thought this war will last for less than two weeks but they have learned their lessons. Russia is now well aware that Ukraine is not militarily weak. They are now aware that with little support from Ukraine's allies, they can withstand the military might of Russia.

NATO and Europe are also aware that Russia is a military and economic powerhouse. Even with NATO's support, Russia has proved to be militarily strong and taking more territories in Ukraine. European nations and the US also believed that sanctions will cripple Russia's economy but they have discovered that the Russian economy is to a large extent sanction-proof.

Ukraine has gained transfer of scientific and military technology from the US and NATO because the Ukrainian military has been gaining technical and operational knowledge through training. The emergencysector like the fire service and the medical sector has been exposed to different situations. And they have also gained some skills from some international organizations like Red Cross. Some doctors and medical personnel have also received advanced training from other countries.

If I were the president I would never engage in this war to gain these advantages. The lives of my citizens are worth more than these benefits. And these benefits or gains can be achieved without fighting. I don't also see how the war has reduced unemployment, it even increased it.

It would be literally my job to protect my country. So of course. Why an earth they would surrender?

What's the alternative? Let the enemy walk all over you and rape and kill your women and chidren and rob you blind? And after they walked over you they would just keep on going all over europe.

A wall is a specially net for the soldiers not for the individuals or students or civilians so if I should we found myself into such country I don't think that I will participate in such a wall so it depends the kind of war that is happening in Ukraine but I know that there is no level or situation we found ourselves in Ukraine that to make everybody to participate in such a war between Russia and the Ukraine their most to be a selected people which is soldiers police never officers and any other parliamentary

I understand your point but it seems you didn't understand my own point. I know the men on uniform such as the military fight the war. But somebody has to declare the and the person is President.
So I'm asking if you would declare war if you were the Ukrainian President?
The person that you quoted above misunderstood everything you said so answering directly to your question if I am the one I don't think that I will directly declare war in a Ukraine or any other company so if I happen to be a president in such country I will do my homework through my own understanding not by making something that will affect my own people in my country I will look for the benefit of the country and the protection of the citizens

If my research is correct (and I think this is an unpopular opinion/conclusion) the main reason that Russia began the war was due to Ukraine's talks to join NATO. Ukraine pursued, Russia followed on its word. Would I start war in this case? No. Putting myself in the presidents' shoes, I am already allied with the great sleeping lion that is China, I am already one of the most powerful countries alongside the US and China, why not instead increase defenses instead of starting war in case Ukraine joining NATO is malicious?

In saying that, everyone thinks they can decide better than the current leaders (even me sometimes)...we don't know all of the factors behind their decisions though. It is unfortunate that the world is in a state where these leaders conclude that war is the only way to go.
