Man that is just crazy. I can't say it's courage, because it's way to crazy and irresponsible I guess. Gambling is perfectly fine, using the normal concept of having a bankroll that you can afford to lose, but how can you afford to lose your entire life savings?

you have to be so stupid to do this.
i don't care what the outcome of his bet was, it is not wise to do such a thing. the risk is too high and in case of losing you will lose everything, become homeless.

Yes lol, I agree you have to be really stupid to do this.
50% to double your money or 50% to lose it all.

I wouldn't have the courage at such a bet it is reckless.
It dumb to bet all the money you have on 1 thing as well.
Because if you lose u don't have anything.

If you are going to bet in the Casino, such a bet is actually not irrational at all. Placing a higher number of smaller bets would give him a lower expected value. When playing a game that has an edge for the house, the mathematically most opportunistic bet is to bet all you got one time, and then never bet again.

my legs are trembling just thinking about doing this.

from the article:

"All the interviews and documentaries that surrounded his bet guaranteed he earned good money – he would have won big even if he lost!  A smart publicity stunt?  Or a crazy and irresponsible Roulette story?"  Grin

How would have he won anything even if he lost? That is just a stupid move. Gambling makes these kind of people famous for being stupid.

I think the most people will not do this, its just to big and I even think no one will come up on a day to do this, you are just crazy if you have such idea's.
I would never do this there are to many risks and you whole life is depending on luck, I mostly I have bad luck if I'm honest.

So sick - in a crazy way. I wonder how much he is worth today after having used his winnings to start an online poker site which eventually went out of business. Imagine if he had waited a few years and invested in bitcoin when it was less than $1. He'd be a mega millionaire. Oh well, shoulda, coulda, woulda.

I think it is not about courage my friend. This is a very senseless impulse, perhaps boosted by a total lack of common sense and control of emotions, otherwise it is totally incomprehensible such attitude.

This is a very bad decision, i will never do that. You have to bet only with the money that you can afford to loose, you can bet 100.000 dollars if you are millionaire, but not sell your house and bet with all the money. If you bet with all your money its possible that you won your bet, and you will be very happy and will try to do it another time, and if not in the second bet, could be on third but finally you will loose all your money.

I thought that is a kind of advertising video of a casino instead of real video experience. But after checking on the wikipedia, it sounds to be true.
What a crazy and lucky gambler, put all what he have in a single bet and won.

For me, I would not have the courage to do something crazy like what he did.

They say only dumb persons have extreme courage, I guess this is the case here as a normal person mentally would never do that ruining all his/her belongings to single roulette bet with 50% chance to win and 50% chance to lose.

That's stupid in any case. It's a matter of extreme luck and happens once in a million years otherwise we would all be rich! Don't you think?

Omg, never. If there is even a slight sanity within me, i would never do that.

The first comment under video says everything. I quote: "And then he became a gambling addict and lost all his money".

Lucky once, unlucky twice afterwards.

Never in a million years.  I don't care if he won, if he lost he starts at square one?  I just couldn't get the courage, stupidity to do this.  I have worked too hard for everything in my life to risk it on a game that I could lose it all.  I might do it with 1,000 dollars or something smaller like that but still, wow.

Well, I just had to confirm it and turns out it did actually happen -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashley_Revell

Would I have the courage to do this? Absolutely ye...NOT!!

Because this is type of gambling that make people commit suicide in the end, which is what this guy probably would have done if the result of that spin was black.

Balls of steel or empty head...
More luck than reason? Yes. Definietely a fool but lucky one.
Maybe he knew that he is lucky?
I would never do that but maybe when some sort of big news would hit me,
like a terminal disease or huge money after dead relative, who knows?
For sure thrilling experience.

Even she will won in a Las Vegas Casino, I will definitely not going to do that. In Gambling you should play smart but not selling everything you have. This is just a game of fun and not for a lifetime definitely not for your future and but it at stake. Just play with your excess money only..

yes, in first place, gambling is very fun, others decide to play it with money so from hobby it turns to addiction

when you gamble, you need to think about future too, about your future or current wife and children, you probably won't win in gambling so don't even try
