Yes I would. There are many large companies partnering with ETH so even if the bubble burst at least a couple of those companies will stay around

Seems like a good time to buy it price wise, but I don't like that there isn't a hard cap on the number of coins that will be produced. Are most of you just buying it short term and flipping it?

This post was posted november 2016 and the price of ethereum has skyrocketed if you bought at that time you made huge profit from that and based on what I'm seeing we will see more Ethereum pumps as the marketcap grows I wish I bought at this time.

If ethereum will successful to drive the next fork to improve its chain and believe me, it will much better than bitcoin chain with scaling agreement combined hardfork. Too many people just says about foek but they don't know how is it. You will see the chain of bitcoin gets forked in the future. And what is the differences?

I won't. Never. I've been scammed once with Bitcoin investment, now I don't think I can ever be interested in investing a penny in any such projects.
Yes, do not ever invest coins there just for websites or projects that are less clear, Because chances are they will bring the coins blur there(scam).

Good thread.   Sentiment says don't invest in Ethereum for the long term, dated November 2016.     Was there a better investment from then until now?

well I don't see any good potential of ethereum after the forking incident, so i won't invest in ethereum for a long term, i think the chances for ethereum to be reputable altcoin is very small, and it will took sometimes to make ethereum to back into it's prime condition

At the moment ETH is pretty much on the ground. All those forks rattled its reputation.
Especially today it went down over 10% at some time.
But on the long term I see no other coin to fill the gap between bitcoin and the rest of the altcoins.
When the fork time is over, dust has settled and trust is regained, I can imagine ETH to come back. But that will take a while.
What's happening to ETH has happened to BTC so it's no big deal.

Yes I would invest in Etherum longterm because of all the alts that have been, I see Etherum as the only one with robust infrastructure and also has been relatively stable over the time. It also has potentials similar to Bitcoin where quite a number of developers can build on. I have met a great developer who has never done anything related to blockchain only etherum and its even more than a currency.

Too many forks

When they reach some consensus might think more about it

Every one has their own choice, either he want to invest in alt coin or not, as some people only buy bitcoin and then keep it as investment for a long time and wait for the price increase, as I like trading therefore I mostly invest my bitcoin in alt coins, I have also some investment in Eth and I think it is not such a risky investment, to me as there is good potential in the price of Eth to increase in future.

I did invest so Yes.  I think ETHereum is one of the cryptocoins that is quite stable also and having a higher value price per bitcoin. Also there many active community and developers and also having many projects launch and on the pipeline waiting to be launch next year in my opinion.

I don't prefer investing in Ethereum or any other altcoin for long term but if I'll do so in the near future, maybe on pesobit and waves only. ETH and any other altcoin investment of mine will still be for short term, of course as others have mentioned too already, it is because most alt coins don't succeed. So trading it for short term is a better way to earn profit (just my opinion).

Seems like a good time to buy it price wise,

dips are always good price to buy at and Ethereum is at a dip right now but you are asking for long term investment. for that i think it is better to wait and see if it is really the bottom and will there be another pump or not?

but I don't like that there isn't a hard cap on the number of coins that will be produced.

This is mostly a trick to increase the market cap but the developers forgot that when there is no way of controlling the number of coins there will be lots of dump which drives the price  to the ground in long term.

For me, I would never invest in Ethereum for a longterm.
As I observed the ethereum price seems goes going dumped.
I would rather choose on a short term investment to gain profit
in this coin.

i never invest in any altcoin for long term and ethereum is no exception and it is always because their prices are a constant downward spiral of death!
so yeah i only buy it short term and flip it as soon as i reach profit and currently i am withholding any kind of investment in almost all the altcoins since their prices doesn't look good to me and it seems like they are falling and will continue falling for the time being.
