An unemployed dude comes to your house to ask for off jobs, say to throw away your thrash and mow the lawn. You had no cash but he owns a bitcoin wallet and asks to be paid in bitcoins. Would you pay in bitcoin?
Yes, if I have a lot of bitcoin, I will pay with bitcoin if he has a bitcoin wallet and the payment I will pay with bitcoin depends on how many hours, lots and area of grass he cuts.
because he asks for payment for bitcoin is not fiat and in my opinion it doesn't hurt because I appreciate it because he knows bitcoin and of course he's a bitcoiner.
yes I would be very happy if bitcoin can be used for payments anywhere, because I still rarely use bitcoin as a payment in the real world. a good choice for the employee, wanting to receive money with bitcoin, it could be a good investment for him in the future.

Usually I will pay with lunch or dinner, if I don't have cash, because if I pay for bitcoin it seems a bit unsafe because I'm a person who always has to maintain the privacy of bitcoin ownership, so maybe I can only feed him or borrow cash to people close to me

Yes of of course, a simple and small transaction like that could help bitcoin network a lot, keeps it running all the time with all the micro transactions in the world. I will only do it when I don't have a cash on me, well I do have cash most of the time.

No I prefer to pay in fiat. I accumulated my btc through hard work and using my spare money in fiat so it will be hard for me to use it as payment for someone's job because im saving it for future.

If ever I dont have money on hand then I will refuse to let him work. There's no need to hire someone for a simple job I know I can do it by myself.

Dude this is just a survey question about whether you will pay BTC or not for a simple job. Your first statement is enough. The other statement is out of the context for this question.  Wink
But why not? You can buy back bitcoin again once you have cash. That will be an awesome opportunity to use bitcoin for daily life just like a guy who pay thousand of bitcoin for a box of pizza.

I will, why not.
You are asking it in a bitcoin forum. You will get a lot of yes here.

I might be a hodler but it doesn't mean I will not use it.
That is the purpose of bitcoin, to be a currency. Something which could be paid to and from.
If you have other questions then you could edit your first post.
I know there is a follow up question here.

No, I won't be paying in Bitcoin. I will just offer him some foods and drinks instead while relaxing in the comfort of my home so we can also have a chat about his experience with Bitcoin so far. I would then have a good story to tell on this forum about an unemployed guy whom I meet in my home and who happens to be a Bitcoiner too. The reason I am not paying in Bitcoin is that I am saving all the BTC I have just in case the "bull run" will really be coming next year. People are holding these days with Bitcoin becoming the most-known speculative investment vehicle in our modern and high-tech world.

That's a very easy job to do so I don't think paying with Bitcoins is still justifiable. We all know how hard it is to earn Bitcoin these days so I think it will only be a big loss if we'll pay that kind of job with Bitcoin. If we could exert and effort and do that simple job then we don't have to spend our crypto earnings. I would prefer paying cash if I wouldn't get any choice.

I've seen threads of people willing to do odd jobs for Bitcoin but I highly doubt the labor market is ready for it. General laborers are not the type of people that are going to be well versed in crypto currency enough to accept it. That's not to say the base doesn't exist. I would be fine with paying out BTC for odd jobs but I know well it's not going to be easy trying to find someone to accept anything other than cash.

On that note, people willing to do odd jobs are usually the type of people that need money instantaneously. They're not the type of people that are going to want to deal with exchanges, fees, delays, ect. to get their funds.

It depends, maybe if you will just do it for part time because you wanted to earn Bitcoin without investing your own fund then it will be okay. There's risk factor if laborer will get wages thru cryptocurrency as it is volatile and the value of it differs from time to time, so it is not really advisable unless if you are just freelancer online, that you are just doing work for Bitcoin in a part time basis.

Why not? I like to use bitcoin as payment, this is the easiness of technology. even I hope I don't carry fiat anywhere, and only have a bitcoin wallet to pay for everything. because in my country this is very rare, especially bitcoin is not allowed to be used as payment, quite sad, even though bitcoin can make it easier.
The same goes here, as the OP said, he had no cash so he also needs to withdraw and pay additional fees to do that, then why not directly pay the dude. I also prefer to not carry fiat all the time, whether I use CC, Debit or crypto as my payment is fine and less hassle for me.

That is the saddest part of some countries who do not allow the usage of bitcoin, though it will help every people in many ways, there are still some countries that do not allow and continue to avoid adopting it.

I don't think to mow the lawn, throwing trash, and other chores stuff would be readily accepting payment in BTC unless you have shared it to them. It's better to cash out your BTC instead of hassling them. Some people don't have any exposure to any technology, and they might take it as a scam, you will never know. It would depend on the person. I think there are already applications to have people do it for you. At least here in my country, there are applications to have that, but mostly, it's being done by referral on who would clean on that specific day. Maybe you could start that application and maybe use BTC as a payment method, which would be cool.

At first, I have to make selections that person very carefully if that odd job really need for my own interest, After that, I have to scrutinize that person very carefully because of a strange person is not comfortable to me, after that I have to negotiate about the payment method, but if I don't have any money then I wouldn't go to work anything, Because I'm not going to spend my Bitcoin for a daily purpose when the price of Bitcoin is low, So the price is also a good fact in this issue, Not only that but also Bitcoin is very essential to me because it's my only way to make money. That's why in a random odd job, I usually not spend Bitcoin until in an urgent case.

Why not? I have given donations to street artists with a Bitcoin QR code posted online and that is no different to people willing to do actual work to earn bitcoins. I have a 80/20 rule with Bitcoin, where I use 20% of all the coins I buy and hoard 80%. That 20% goes to everything from food to donations to charity, where there are Bitcoin accepted.  Wink

Imagine what would happen if that unemployed guy went out there and told all his friends that people are willing to pay for work with bitcoins.

if i knew the man?then why not?but if not?then i will surely deny the transaction and wont even tell him that i am a bitcoin user.

we already knew the risk now of being forced to take the bitcoin or cryptos from us,there have been a scenario that a crypto holder being abducted and ask for Bitcoin payments.so definitely this depend to situation,or even if i have no cash then i can convert my bitcoin and cash out than paying him with crypto.
Why not? even if you don't know him as long as he did his job right then for me it is something that we don't mind.
You're just using bitcoin as payment and there is nothing wrong with that. It is not like you're giving your wallet or any confidential information to him.

have you read my whole post?havent i mentioned the risks we may encounter?random person will knock your door and asked for a job and seek for bitcoin payments?better look for the post first before posting nonsense because i clearly says my reasons.

and if you dont care for yourself and your crypto?then do it yourself but i will never .because never forget the looks can be deceiving so i would prefer to keep safe than risking for random person.and i also mentioned that why need to pay in bitcoin when i can just withdraw and pay him in fiat?make sense buddy.

If I this were to be true, I'd rather pay him in cash than using my own BTCs.

To be honest, I would borrow cash from my friends or my wife but I would never touch my BTCs since they are saved for investment purposes or for long-term holding. But if the situation requires me to use my BTCs (e.g. emergency purposes- medical bills, obligations, etc.) then I would not hesitate to use them for my family.

I treat my BTCs as my assets for long-term since their value will realize overtime. Like in stocks, I always have the choice to sell them for cash but this would defeat the purpose of investing it for long term.

The job doesn't require much skills, knowledge, or even physical work so I don't think paying with bitcoin is the best way. Since he owns a bitcoin wallet, it means that he's well aware of bitcoin and crypto so he can just work with crypto. there's a lot of job offered here on the internet which he can earn more than throwing trash and such... He's unemployed not a beggar. He can't just be contended with that kind of job, so why wouldn't he just look for job on the internet? So rather than letting him do that job and paying him with bitcoin, I'll just tell him to work.
