I would do it without hesitation. Frankly, I would be satisfied with the price of x2 from the purchase price. Given what market it is now, it’s better to be content with little than wait for years to grow.
Although who knows how it really was, maybe greed would outplay me and made me wait x10.

I am really curious about this question. To be clear, if there would be an opportunity to sell your tokens and make x5 right here and right now in exchange for promise to never invest in crypto again. How many people are ready to sell their tokens/coins at the moment and never come back?
I wont because I know in the next five years, bitcoin will become more expensive and I can earn more than that maybe a 50x more. If the choice is to hold bitcoin and sell your shitcoins I will do it but I will not surrender my whole bitcoin for just a 5x profit, i deserve more.

I'm waiting for the 10x but probably I would sell for 5x too, but I would buy again as soon as it a little cheaper again ))

Depends on your target, if you have been holding your coins for so long, I don't think that 500% is enough, just saying. I know some individuals who target more than that, because after all they have been keeping their coins for so long that most of them totally forget it already or will just sell it if something goes wrong, like an emergency and needed cash.

Personally though, I might probably push the sell button, but not everything, I will kept 50% remaining and then see how the market will react and then go back in the trading. I also doubt that speculators and traders will quickly say "I'm done" with crypto. I'm sure they will be attracted sooner or later and be lure back because of the potential gains you can make in the future.

as a matter of fact if i  have the opportunity i will sell at even a lower percentage , say 300-400 percent .  this is a big profit so what will i be waiting fro ? i can alsway buy other assets later if i wish . the way crypto market is now seeing a profit of 500% is a big testimony to me so i will whole heartedly sell.

That is a huge profit already, so I think many traders will do that in a heat beat. But to never come back? I doubt that, crypto traders is very impulsive I must say so for sure once they got their profit and made a x5, definitely sooner or later they will come back and try if they can make the same or even more than their previous ROI. They might have a seconds thoughts of coming back, but as soon as they see the market on the recovery, they will FOMO and will easily jump in again, IMHO. Remember as well that this market is in a cycle, so that alone will tell you that everything here is cyclical.

The big problem with this hypothetical is the idea of never returning back to crypto. A 5x profit is nice, but if that means never investing again in crypto, it probably wouldn't make sense for most unless we are talking about huge sums.

I mean, let's say it was 1K to 5K. Yay, not bad on a 1K investment.

But if that's it, it's not exactly a life changing moment there (at least for most). So it's kind of a weird hypothetical the OP set up. It'd be better to ask if faced with a 5x profit, would one cash out, and maybe not return to that particular coin, not all crypto in general. Then the answer would be yes more often than not, I expect.
Yes I agree with you if it is just an alt-coin that I would receive a 5x profit then I would take it,
But if it meant to leave crypto and never to come back again then I think I could earn more if I would stay and trade for a longer time.
It isn't a good deal for us who only have a small portfolio but who knows maybe the whales would agree with OP's idea.

Crypto is future, never coming back is not on my list of possible scenarios. You see crypto only as an investment and that's why you are asking this, I see it as a money and as investment, I could live without investment part but I would still use bitcoin, it is part of my life the same as cash.

for me, i don't want to sell my coins if the choice just x5 and i will just hold my coins until a few years so from that i can get more profit than x5

Theres no guarantee that the coins will be boom in the future take we are in cryptoworld everything can be change in a short period of time but I like your confidence because for if I have an opportunity to sell this coins then I will go and take profit.

I am against selling my tokens and leaving the crypto industry. in my opinion, the cryptocurrency market is still in its infancy. in the future, cryptocurrency will rule the world.

I don't sell. because I'm almost sure I'll get more than 500% profit soon. If there were any other options, I would prefer to sell with 500% profit and buy again at the current prices  Grin but what you're talking about now is like cutting your golden-laying chicken.

Nope if having an instant x5 profit right now would mean of quitting on crypto then I would just stick to my earning and wait for a couple of months or years maybe I would get much more than just 500% profit.
But if it would be so much like it could make a good business out of that money then why not,
If that instant 5× could give you a good stable income in real world then why wouldn't you take it.

At this time, it might sound like the best approach because a lot of people are looking for a way out considering how people are stuck with a position they are currently in as cashing out would mean taking a huge hit on the amount invested and even the time that have been wasted in waiting for things to turn around. So, someone coming with cash ready to pay x5 of the initial investment, I would take it without thinking twice. However, human nature might set to begin to doubt as to what the person making the offer stand to gain for making such? You then begin to think what if I sell and in two days, I could have made x20, let me keep... But for me, a bird in hand is better than unseen bird.

I would rather sell some of my starsh and keep the remains for the future. Although, there is speculatives talks about the Bitcoin price soaring higher but that is just a rumor, even at that; the market is still down and awaiting for high demands from potential investors. Holding all the coins might be the best option, although money is needed.

Crypto is kind of addiction. Even though we have loss, we come back to it again hoping we will get good returns.
This hope has been created by one and only, Bitcoin. Reaching to peak $20K, everyone's confidence has been increased.

In the future not at the moment. Once I see a 100% increase in my holding I will sell not necessarily wait for 500%. It's likely you got more profits holding in the future.

French sample if you want Bitcoin around 10 in numbers if that Bitcoin can goes to 500 percentage means surely I will sell all the cryptocurrencies I hold in my wallet.
Then this is applicable for the tokens as well because token market is completely vanished from 2017 to now. Not only me I believe everyone will looking forward to make the profit.

Depends entirely on the situation.

If we are talking about 5x BTC value, then probably not, as the odds are 8K won't be the new high for the coin.

If it's an alt, it depends on how it got to its current price and the project itself. If it's a pump, yeah, most likely sell unless I feel it's still early in the pump. But nowadays we don't see those 10-20x rises too often, so 5x would likely be the end of the pump.

Also depends on when I bought in. For instance if I was looking at 5x profit for ETH, yet I bought in ages ago (meaning I passed up even greater profits), I might wait it out.

However if it's a generic type of token and I woke up one morning and saw it skyrocketed 5x, yeah, I'd be selling it real quick. However, when I define 'sell' it's not always to fiat ... unless we are talking about huge amounts, that 5x sale most likely would go into BTC or ETH.

The 'never come back' moment for me is when it's so much money (so we are into millions) that I could basically retire on it.

I want to be very honest here. Because if I get 5x profit today, I may sell all of my crypto coins, but not to leave the crypto space, rather increase my portfolio. Because we know crypto's nature is volatility. We have seen Bitcoin at 19K USD, and we also saw Bitcoin at 3400 USD, right? It's mean if I get x5 today, there will be another day when all those coins price will become lower again, so , I can buyback with my profits.
