I have a question for you guys. I have a couple Lealanas that got not a great grading by PCGS like 5 or 6 years ago. Like MS68, I was thinking to pop em out of the case and just send them again to get graded, I was thinking to go with ICG because they historically for coins seem to grade higher than PCGS?

what do you guys think? Or is there criteria they follow that almost certainly if it was MS68, then its going to be MS68 again?

What agency did you use originally, ANACS yellow slabs?

ANACS yellows carry a collector premium.

Regrade to PCGS would be my personal preference for a regrade.

The original grading was done with PCGS, i'm just afraid if I send back to them it they would  regrade it and it would still be MS68, hahhaa. I had just heard in the past tthat ICG was possibly more liberal with their higher grades is why I was asking.

What is your motivation?  Is it just to have a higher grade, do you prefer ICG, or are you trying to ensure higher premium?  If it's to ensure higher premium, you're probably best to leave as in, in its current PCGS holder.  Besides PCGS could probably check the firstbits and tell it was previously graded by them by cross referencing the pedigree.

Ah I see the cert now. Didn't realize some of these sets were buyer funded.

This would be a good item for ICG to note on their slab, esp since these sets are differentiated into seller funded and buyer funded.

Nice looking coins regardless, hard to get better grades than that. I'd still like to see the back  Grin

These are unfunded? Can we see the back?

Also, I'm surprised there would be no "redeemed" note on ICG's slab...
Just to clarify. Are these swiped and redeemed or buyer funded and hologram intact? I see the BF on the COA but just checking if they were ever loaded and swiped

A quick check of the first bits on all coins indicates they have never been funded... leading me to believe they have the BUYER FUNDED stamp on the hologram

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, If it was a standard auction format I  most likely wouldn't have given my opinion, because listing a WTS is you looking to start a conversation about your items to sell them. and talking about these coins has created this into a very active post,  actually a very active post for items that are trying to be sold with zero pics and zero proof of ownership for $20k in btc. I actually am interested  in your btc items, so if you would be so kind to post pics of these items it would be appreciated.  thank you

Fair enough lol Forgot to mention the 1btc is lazer rimmed hologram! Just took pics. Now trying to figure out how to upload them...

Wow that is awesome... thank you!

This is by no means a derailment of your thread.

This is called marketing my friend.

You are now OP of the most active threads on collectables section to hawk your lealana loot.

the btc collection sounds great but wish it wasnt gaded by ICG, these coins are to high-end and deserved a PCGS grading, but of course this is all personal opinion.

TO HAVE IT ENCASED IN ICG SLABS IS SACRILEGE.

I vote to free the coins from their ICG prison, and get them into homely PCGS holders Immediately.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with ICG
Let me know if you need a quick, little history lesson Eclipse.

I would love a history lesson.

Maybe I am a PCGS shitcoiner, and ICG is based Kek.
   (= ФェФ=)

This is my quick recollection and insight.  Other are free to add and/or keep me honest.

ICG has been around since the beginning in regards to grading crypto and crypto themed coins and tokens.  ANACS did it for a few years before exiting the space altogether, leaving only ICG to fill the void for couple of years.  Then PCGS saw an opportunity to fill a void and jumped on board, not quite fully aware of or grasping the nuances vs fiat coins and we're still dealing with this until this day.  NGC might be a matter of time, esp since the Otoh auctions, but then again don't hold your breath since it's been a couple/few months.

its just like anything, everyone has their opinion and reasons,  just like. Nike , Reebok, Adidas  or Ford, Chevy, GMC.

Agree, however it's one thing to have a preference and another thing to shit on something undeservedly.

Yeah seriously... totally derailed my sales post to make sure we know what they care about/like with absolutely no interest in purchasing.
