Wolf, maybe you can help with a problem that i have with my R9 270?
In my system i use 1x hd6950 which is running at full speed, and 1x R9 270 which is hooked up to my monitor, which is running on half speed.

I'm using firefox with a lot off tabs open, but still all goes well, until i want to play a game.
Then the speed of the 270 goes down, and i can't play the game anymore because, how do you call it, it is like playing a game with very old card. it is like the gpu is busy with something else.

Then i disable in sgminer the 270 card, which helps to play the game.
And somehow firefox stops and need to restart it again.

This happened with all versions of sgminer and all AMD drivers, and the old versions of firefox.

Try looking for an option in the browser about WebGL or something - disable that, maybe?

Ok, i would like to help, but i'm little to far from you i think, EU Sad

Yeah, I'm in the US. My current bins are optimized for GCN, that is, 7xxx and up.

Hi, does any 1 have optimized *.bin file for an HD6950, with i can go higher then 2Mh/s?
Pls Wink

Sure, when I get a 6950 or 6970 from someone Tongue
Do you need a gpu, or can you do it with the old bin file?

I'd need an actual GPU to test on.

14.9 is both awesome, and it sucks. It's awesome because in some ways, the compiler has gotten smarter - it sucks because in other ways, it's gotten dumber...

Finally finished fixing x13 and x15. I still need to work on the four extra hash functions, but it mines faster, and more importantly, mines correctly.

Why dont you release your optimizations, especially the x11 ones, as closed-source miner with fee, or as an open source miner with donation option?

I've been asked the former before. The latter is a really stupid question - 99% of miners don't donate.

Closed source miners with fees have been reverse engineered before; I simply cannot afford that.

Thats a sad thing to hear about donations, I always kept donation on (as long as the percentage was reasonable).

Anyway, a closed-source miner with fee, is bound to pay for it-self many times before it gets reverce engineered.

Of course if you have a really big GPU farm it may serve you right to keep the mining advantage for yourself.

Or if you know someone with one.

What's the power draw on that 290x badboy?

Don't know, but I know the whole thing does 990W or so at the wall doing these high performance numbers. 115W at idle.

Best hash per watt I've gotten over the whole rig, 270X, 280X, 290X, and 7950, is 22.13MH/s for 610W.

Just sold the last of my farm, it's being shipped early next week.

Now, I'm having "The Final Hash"...  I am getting an oil painting made, it will be remembered for years to come...

Stock Voltages, Stock Clocks, Max Intensity, Windows Down, System Up, one last final weekend of hashing like nobody's watching...

I may keep a card, if this all ends someday. Just to remember.

To think, I had 180 GPU's and not 1 game was played  Wink  That's retarded...

I'm keeping 3 of these for the memories:

Yeah, I hear those are excellent cards.

Nice, mine sharing the best hash/per watt kernal Tongue

They're all the same kernel - max hashrate is usually also maximally efficient.

EDIT: Not that I'm near max hashrate - I'd need to edit SGMiner to make this really fly, and it's messy code, so I'm working within its brokenness.

are you gonna release these kernels any time soon?
one thing i like in neoscrypt miner, they keep all in github as they make any changes
you can allways have the latest and fastest version
they are not holding things in secret..
lot of people the way claymore makes it..

The full kernel? No. Might I leak a few optimizations? Maybe. And I could probably do some work on neoscrypt, too; just hasn't looked profitable.

my days mining x11 are over, just no profit there, even if i had my 4.4mhs -->6.2mhs
so i dont really care about the kernels myself.

about neo, coins are moving to it one by one, FTC going on friday

They would really use some help with kernel, there is some problem with radeon cards older than hd7000 series.
kernels is not vectorised so cards like 6000 series  have extreme poor hashrate for now.

Hm... at first glance, the code looks decent, which is quite surprising - I see a couple things that may be kinda stupid, but on the whole, not terrible.

i have read about u wolf0 on other threads so tread lightly here

What have you read? I'm curious.  Cheesy

Sorry was not you, another wolf ...

Oh, okay. Got 6.6 - 6.7 on 280X; 290X is at 9.3MH/s. Shooting for 10MH/s on 290X.

My problem mentioned in this page is solved!  Grin

It was a driver issue.
i had installed the new AMD drivers over the old ones.
To keep this in mind:
Always remove the old drivers, use driveruninstall program, and some registery cleaners, so nothing is left behind, then install the new drivers.

I can now open about 20 tabs in FireFox, play Star Trek online, while my gpus hashing in the background. Cheesy
