I am definitely agians Xapo, I must recognize it was my first Bitcoin wallet back in the days of faucets web site and lotery but they changed. I do not know what happened but they start rising the fee and keeping all those transactions they labeled as "dust"
You know, to cover fees they have to steal form you those bits.
They are a global web site if they rob you satoshis, and they rob satoshis from 1 million more customers they will steal a lot of bitcoins.
I have banned them and now I have a negative opinion about them.
Dont use Xapo!

Agree i notice that too, the transactio was too high and that is the reason why i stop using this wallet, this is not good to those users who earn small amount of bitcoin like me big portion of our income will goes to fee and i hate that.

Their update is something that killed their entire business and their service also with their debit card now is limited to a certain area. You know what guys, I love xapo and it's one of the best web wallet for me and even until now I just really hate their fees and it's killing my small transactions especially when I was in mood to claim some satoshi's to different faucets. The sats that I'll be claiming their isn't enough just to pay the fee of each transactions, nothing is really free on this world.
And the even bad feature of them is that they also charge a fees on that amount which is incoming to xapo and is smaller according to their provided threshold. They are charging double type of fees. I also stopped using xapo for my needs and now I am using blockchain for my needs where I am able to put my own figure in the fees and with a lowest fees I get my transaction confirmed in some time.

Hoping for more changes in the future with xapo, I'm only against with their fees but their service is great.

You have to understand that the services charging whatever fees are not in control of this. Ultimately, it's the demand for block space due legitimate usage, and spam attacks making the fees jump up and down heavily -- from there I wouldn't focus too much on lower Xapo fees. On the other hand, the fees aren't all that bad if you send large amounts. Example -- if you send $10 worth of Bitcoin, and you pay $4 in fees, it looks massive. If you send $1000 worth of Bitcoin, the $4 fee suddenly doesn't look all that bad anymore. That's why it's important to look at the situation from different angles.

They have the control on this thing look on how other web wallets are charging their users when sending bitcoin to other wallets. Others have choice of setting and adjusting the fee to lower or higher one that makes your transaction prioritize. That's what I'm saying that those fees aren't applicable for lower transactions since I'm not a person that deals with large amounts so that is just my concern.

Has any of you noticed that Xapo has recently lowered their fees for moving funds? I tried to send some funds that i had on there (and i did not even noticed of that) and fees are less than $4 at the moment, and they were upto $12 a few weeks ago, is there a new feature in xapo? or this is just the changes that the first SegWit made? (that were not implemented on xapo i guess)
So i transfered my funds from xapo to another wallet for only $4

I never noticed this and $4 is still quite high for us, that fee is still not applicable for lower transactions since it's quite crazy. Many they are changing their terms of fee because they noticed it then that many of their customers are backing out and just forgetting them like that they are no longer existing. Hoping for more changes in the future with xapo, I'm only against with their fees but their service is great.

Even those mobile wallets does have their fees too.

Difference is that dedicated wallet clients, whether they are desktop clients or mobile clients, charge you purely the network fees, and not whatever speculative fees like what online wallets are doing. You shouldn't forget that online wallet services (exchanges too) happen to 'tumble/mix' their coins all the time, and this moving coins back and forth costs them fees too, and thus have to charge people a higher than average fee for external transactions. I think it's time for people to get used to paying fees like all other users are doing, being stingy doesn't bring you anywhere. I get it that as per the coin to $ ratio the fees look high, but there is nothing that you can do to stop this. It's either you making use of a dedicated wallet client that lets you use lower fees, which results in lower priority transactions, or you have to keep searching for whatever alternative, which I'm not sure if there is in this case.

I did withdraw most of my funds also in xapo though it hurts me to stop using their service but I just can't help myself and I can't endure to be blinded by their fees. It's really their problem that they are not giving the users of that option about low - high priority of our transactions. If ever they'll be starting to be in that position then possibly that I'm going to use them again but for now, I would stick into web wallets that are good for low and has adjustable fees.

Instead of relying on online wallet services that people only complain about, why don't you just use a mobile wallet such as the Mycelium Bitcoin wallet? It doesn't require you to download the entire block chain, and you are the only entity in control of your private keys. It gives you all the convenience and security you are looking for. Xapo and other online wallet services will not change the way they set up their fee structure so easily, so there is no point into waiting for that to ever happen.

Yes I'm complaining about the fees of this online wallet because I used to their free service before but I just can't help myself of telling people that I like them because of it but not anymore now. Even those mobile wallets does have their fees too. I know that they won't change their decision as they are into business and it's final for them but we don't know if there will be some sort of changes in the future if they'll base their sales report on how many active users they've got.

Don't forget about electrum, you don't have to download the whole blockchain network too as it's a normal desktop wallet where you can use it as your cold storage.

I don't use xapo anymore too and it's just the same with your reasons so I tried to find another good wallet where I can store most of my bitcoins and electrum is a good choice for me.

For me a web wallet blockchain.info is a good one but still it's a web wallet and it's still at risk. Mycelium is a good wallet but I never used it since I'm satisfied with electrum.
I have remaining blance in xapo i think around 0.007 something but since the fee is really high its not worth it to withdraw it..
I was using it before even xapo wallet when logging in is  really buggy wallet that i was experience it before since faucets before without fee when receiving and xapo is the only site that you can instantly receive from your faucet earnings that is why i use them and for debit card.. So i stop using this and only use mycelium and electrum for now because i wanted to control my wallet and can backup private keys like the other said you should backup this so that you can recover it in other wallet..

.007 btc is not a small amount to me therefore you should certainly move it to a more safer wallet since i think xapo might follow coinbase steps. Don't worry when sending from xapo to an external wallet the fees they charge will go through your transactions miner fee unlike when receiving a certain amount which you can check from this https://in.xapo.com/fees/. You should pick the lowest amount of miner fee which is 63K sats since i assume that you're not in a hurry. You're practically giving it on them, If you don't withdraw your balance on xapo. Losing 63K sats is certainly worth it to gain 600Ksats+

@Jossiel, mycelium is an android/IOS wallet--the best so far-- so its very handy on urgent payments. It's quite a hassle turning on windows to open electrum and off again since i don't use my desktop always unlike my phone which is always available 24/7

Yeah 0.007 BTC isn't a small amount compare before when the price of bitcoin was quite lower but now it's a total different thing as the price keeps on pumping.

I haven't used mycelium just like what I said and I don't want to get into mobile wallets since I'm not too confident with myself holding up my smart phone that has my bitcoin assets on it.

I would still prefer a desktop wallet or a web wallet for storing sum of it. Well we just do have our own likes and dislikes, if you don't like destop/windows wallet it's you and me, I really don't prefer mobile wallet but what's the most important is where we are confident of using it since both has good background and rating.

I just emptied my Xapo balance The fee was the equivalent of $2.5 which is far, far more than it needs to be. However services like this are really stuck between a rock and a hard place. Many users are too stupid, others are too advanced and often the service is marooned somewhere in the middle trying to please everyone and failing everyone.

I'd prefer it if they gave the option for fee control along with a huge button to press excluding you from ever whining to them about it. As long as you voluntarily take the responsibility it's no skin off their nose and their users will be happier.

LOL. The same with you. I've used Xapo about 1 weeks before then I changed to Coinbase cause when I used Xapo online wallet I had to pay too much kind of fee, both Deposit and withdrawal fee, so when I do some small task and earned about 0.0003 - 0.0005 BTC it only enough to pay for the deposit fee on Xapo Smiley)) But now I'm using Coinbase and it's quite good, the transaction fee is changed everyday and it's not too high.

Yeah the fees are much higher now and the BTC price is high too  Angry I don't understand why they are doing that.... maybe they are just greedy that's the only explanation i can get   Roll Eyes
This is still a general thing and not just xapo alone. However, apart from the fees being high, I do not know why I have never really fancied xapo wallet. If I were to use an online wallet for any of my transaction, I had rather make use of blockchain.info ... the service that could have made me consider them which is the xapo card is even going to be stopped soon anyway.

they can just simply get a smaller fees don't worth using this wallet have much better options on the market

It's pointless for any service to lower and then to increase its fees constantly -- it will result in confusion and a lot of unhappy customers. People have been spoiled previously with free external transactions, and now act like something very precious has been taken away from them. People should understand that wallet services are businesses looking to make profit, and thus aren't charities to help the cheapskates here to move their faucet pennies. It is it really that difficult to place yourself in the shoes of the business in question?
