They've not set rpcallowip for their local or network IP, they should also run with --daemon and I normally add listen to the conf aswell.
Forget curl, get the RPC to work with the daemon first. It's not going to work with the steps they outlined, some basic Googling would have helped them!This seems to be user error.

I bought my last XBC @ around .035BTC so I am in the same boat but hopefully it will recover although it has a good bit to go before I break even.

thursdaynight I ran everything past our main developer and his response is quoted below.Everyone is on holiday until 13th August so technical support is limited unless it is network issue or maintainance.

1) I'm trying to use JSON-RPC for all connections -downloading the blocks etc. and `bitcoinplusd -help` says default RPC port is 8885 while this page (https://github.com/bitcoinplusorg/xbcwalletsource) says it's 8884. Could someone tell me the right one for JSON-RPC?
2) When I start bitcoinplusd, it says

[warn] Error creating directory /root/.bitcoinplus/tor: No such file or directory
[warn] Failed to parse/validate config: Couldn't access/create private data directory "/root/.bitcoinplus/tor"
[err] Reading config failed--see warnings above.
```
So unless I have /root/.bitcoinplus in place, the service doesn't start.. I'm running this on a docker container as a non-root user - would there be a way to bypass (e.g. add another config etc..) this error?

Try 8884 for now.I will take a look at the other stuff and get back to you.

2) Also, it seems like if I have `-onlynet=ipv4` or `-onlynet=IPv4`, the blocks don't seem to load - it hangs after below logs

Stick with 8885 so if it works.For the rest I have put the issue(s) to someone else who runs some seed nodes and am waiting on a response.They could be away for a few days though but someone might chime in on the subject in the meantime.Hang in there.
