YOU ARE LIVING IN WRONG COUNTRY MAN... Cool

I know. It totally sucks knowing that because I probably won't be able to figure out the tax deal with crypto over here, I may just have to give up 40% of my total gains when the time comes. I haven't quite reached the point where crypto can replace the day job (but it is a damn good supplement), but another good move or two on my part and it just might. Then I may have to move! Tongue

If someone just wants to answer me via PM, that's fine.

Teka feel free to delete the last page of posts, I am totally ok with it. I was sort of hoping someone would explain to me how Cryptsy (USA) and Mintpal (UK) are getting along just fine as they almost act like "giant nodes" for exchanges in a sense, maybe (I'm not sure if the trail can be lost through an exchange).

If you are such a sissy why get involved in crypto at all? Go sell potatoes.

Every time someone replies in DRK thread with BS and FUD I just want to dump the XCs I hold because I feel ashamed ... just saying.

And don't go to mom saying that they started first, cut the crap and promote the coin.

Full disclosure: I own DRK, XC, MRO and even ANC.

(don't be a fanboy, just think and invest smart)

+1  I thought a bunch of us had squashed the stupid FUD-war late yesterday. Just hurts both coins as people are driven, not from one to the other, but off to other things entirely. So cut the FUD trolls, regardless of which coin you hold.

Not FUD, I hold and support XC (and not DRK). But if I don't get a clear answer to this question, it just means I will not host a DRK or XC mixing node is all. And yes, I am paranoid. Tongue

Yea, these are valid questions and concerns (one of many questions that relate to legal implications of cryptocurrency in general).  Probably need to be answered by someone with a law degree though.

What Huh USA is only country on earth??? my god I live in USA and I did not know that  Grin ...you guys are funny...please why did you buy XC I wonder...you really don't understand nothing ...i can think 100 ways to avoid that problem only with my knowledge of IT sector

If you know how to install windows...world is your playground

Even a qualified lawyer wouldn't really know the answer.  Uncharted waters, so therefore it kind of is FUD.

Legal? This is crypto, you are talking about only 1 country that would potentially care. Then you are also assuming they can stop people from writing lines of code, which in that same country would fall under freedom of speech on top of it. Yeah FUD.

Not FUD, I hold and support XC (and not DRK). But if I don't get a clear answer to this question, it just means I will not host a DRK or XC mixing node is all.  People got sued left and right last decade for downloading music and videos. And now apparently the NSA knows everything we are doing. So yes, I am a little bit paranoid. Because these days I actually have something to lose. Tongue

From the DRK thread : maybe someone can clear this up for me here. Maybe even the XC dev himself.

This is a serious question, and applies for both DRK and XC because I am legitimately concerned about this : if you are to host a master node (or xNode for XC), can you not be charged with money laundering (if convicted) if you are a resident of the USA? Or because the IRS classified crypto as property and not a currency, this is not the case? Does anyone know?

I do know that it doesn't matter if you know whether or not you know where the money is coming from or going (you cannot the play the "well I didn't know it was drug money card"), but because you are facilitating the process, you are liable. But this goes back to my property vs currency and what kind of rules apply here?

Actually this is not FUD and related to the coin, it is a serious valid legal concern.

And besides, even if actually an issue (let's assume worst case scenario), there are plenty of countries where these nodes could be hosted so the network could still operate just fine.
