Today improvements:
1. CORS support added - recompile your duckNote and you can use PURE HTML GUI!
https://github.com/ducknote/ducknote/commit/b9310ab374afd51d9e193c7f6f8219dba8772fa2
2. wallet.html added - simple single html page that can wrap simplewallet or ducknoted just with browser.
https://github.com/ducknote/ducknote/commit/cc58dd2526b1bec783add9cebe7be535a64f4194

Recompiled binaries for different OSes with new features will be available soon.
Other improvements will be added soon.

Now everyone can make their own GUI with just HTML.
You can start with Bootstrap frameworks to build beautiful User Interfaces.

That is just a first step, daemon wrapper will be available soon too, and wallet.html will be improved.

Enjoy & Follow the duck. Quack! ~_0<

Wow, so simple and so easy to use, ingeniously, simple HTML with CORS, thank you devs!

TO DA MOON now!

what about the payment id? where do you enter that info on the page?

That is just initial version, but it is really easy to customize it, soon advanced version will be available, as well as ducknoted daemon HTML wrapper.

From devs -
In next 3 days duckNote will have this updates:

1. Daemon blocks will be less and less under penalties => rewards will be more stable and accurate = happy miners
 Grin
2. New JSON-RPC feature - simple, but powerful
3. First GUI implementation of new JSON-RPC feature. That implementation of GUI will give an opportunity to make their own designs and wallet wrappers to any user and/or developer. That will be "hold up your roots" implementation, will be explained later. Shocked

In next 14 days possible:

1. Moving blockchain out of RAM
2. Small fixes.
3. Improving JSON-RPC features.

Follow the duck.

Great news!
It's good that duck is improving.
I don't mind using command line wallet but waiting for gui. It's better for beginners and it's better for duck.  Grin

Anyway,
Nobody is watching my youtube tutorial "How to use wallet" so maybe there is really no need for gui Wink

When was the last time this happened?

...right now... two rigs are working @your pool

[2014-07-01 22:10:42] Stratum connection timed out
[2014-07-01 22:10:42] Stratum connection interrupted

I'm not 100% sure, but as far as I know, this is OK. The miner will reconnect and will not lose its current work.
This happens if there is no communication for 2 minutes (either a new block found notification from the pool to the miner, or a work results sent by the miner).

In other news, I just updated my pool (http://duckpool.mooo.com) to the latest pool code. All welcome Smiley It's been a lean time for the lucky ducky after its crazy luck at the beginning, we did find a block just before the halving, phew Cheesy

Initial Block reward = 320 000 [XDN]
Block halving interval = 11 000 blocks = approx. 1 month
Minimum Block reward = 150 [XDN]

I'm so confused...so what is going on with the block reward?  All I know is that I am mining way less coins than usual since a few days ago and these charts https://minergate.com/charts show the block reward as being really low.  ELI5?
it halved, like it was supposed to do according to the plan from the beginning.

Check out that new luck feature http://duck.extremepool.org under Pool Blocks

Extreme Pool
http://www.extremepool.org

We offer a Pool for every Cryptonote Coin
Features:
•Fast Payouts directly to your private wallet.
•Address Validation - Disabled for XDN
•Latest pool code from Zone117x
•Variable Difficulty based on your individual CPU performance
...

hi wolf,
I connect to port 7777 with my rigs.
the pool diff cycles up from 10.000 to 100.002... and after there comes always a "Stratum connection timed out" & "Stratum connection interrupted"...and the diff starts from 10.000 again.

Code:
[2014-07-01 20:47:47] Pool set diff to 100002

Everything is working great.
Please  explain why the reward is not 160,000 XDN.

160000 XDN is a BASE_REWARD.
If you see other amount that means that block got additional fees, or under penalty because of big transactions.

that is correct.

Also on a side note there has been several updates to other Cryptonote coins that have fixed some issues.
Is DuckNote planning on implementing any of these updates?  Specifically the update to the wallet for when the daemon auto saves the wallet times out?

https://github.com/zone117x/bitmonero/commit/b87577f4441fd53d513ecf64a905104db3db20e2

^^^^^^^

I also noticed with bytecoin's latest update the daemon takes much less RAM and loads the blockchain considerably faster.
