The technical strength of the Monero coin project team is very strong. The team's style of doing things is steady and steady, and it is worth holding for a long time.
I agree! I also read about the project and believe in XMR. With the current market situation, XMR has confirmed its position in the market for approximately $ 140. This is certainly a potential currency, which is the correct investment choice of the community.

Well thats easy, you can buy monero coins on any exchange and withdraw to the wallet. The transaction to any wallet will be anonymous.

I think he wants to know what exchanges don't require KYC info. I'm sure there is at least one, right? Polo certainly isn't one of them.  Angry

If you plan to buy small amounts of XMR per each single account (less than roughly $10000 per month):
1) Buy LTC on https://xchange.cash
2) Register at https://binance.com or https://tradeogre.com and deposit your just bought LTC
3) Sell LTC->BTC than buy XMR<-BTC on the exchange selected above
4) Withdraw XMR to you intermediate XMR wallet from the exchange
5) Transfer XMR to you final destination XMR wallet without payment id (view key) - just use default Monero transfer parameters in GUI or CLI (I recommend CLI over GUI STRONGLY).
6) Enjoy 100% pure anonymous XMR.

If you plan to buy more XMR than ~ $10000 per month, simply register the corresponding number of accounts to do steps 1)-6).

P.S. Don't forget to change your IP on each single account. Use VPN or Tor. Smiley

I reviewed LocalMonero.co and found that almost every listing does not accept payments from New Yorkers. Why?

New York has a state law known as BitLicense which makes it a lot more onerous to operate any kind of cryptocurrency exchange there:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitLicense

On the other hand, if you HAVE the license, you can sleep much easier at night than trying to run a business where there are no regulations wondering what sort of crazy shit the government might cook up to do to you tomorrow.

Nice to see bugs found and fixed fastly after the release of Ledger GUI guides.

Have the monero devs given the all clear on using Ledger with XMR yet, or is this still an experimental phase?

Do we need to buy a new Ledger, or will old versions still work with XMR with a firmware upgrade?

So pumped for this!!

HYC's arguments to change the licensing scared me. what are your thoughts on that?

I seriously doubt the license will be changed to anything more restrictive.

What is the equation of amount of XMR mined per block?

I found this.

Quote
The Monero block reward = (M - A) * 2-20 * 10-12
where A = current circulation.
           M = the max supply? Which is about 18 000 000?
https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/242/how-was-the-monero-emission-curve-chosen

But by any number of A, the amount of mined coins per block is way too less. For example now the current circulation is about 16 000 000 XMR, so by that the equation gives coins mined per block 0,00000000019073486328125

What I do not understand? What is the right formula?

You have to multiply A with 10^12. In addition, the formula has to be multiplied by 2 to account for the block time change (from 1 minute blocks to 2 minute blocks). The formula is described in more detail here:
