Hello,

is there a way to show current active wallet address like with "getaccountaddress """ I sadly wasn't able to find it yet.

If you're running monero-wallet-cli you can just use the "address" command, with monero-wallet-rpc you can use the getaddress RPC call.

For all you guys that are looking at the MoneroV crap here is a step by step video on how to convert one persons Monero to another. Smiley

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7RXCMAwH_E

Always be careful, you must be sure to be on the official website. in the video the site to which it connects is 'http://monero-v.com' SCAM?
 instead of https://monerov.org.

See what I bolded? That video will in fact show you how to convert one persons Monero (whatever idiot is following those instructions) to another (The scammer that made the video). As far as I am concerned MoneroV is just as big of a scam as the guy who made the video. It is a scam ontop of a scam and I find that amusing. And if anyone follows that video then tough shit, they are too stupid to own Monero.

I solved right now ...
the problem was that the 'GUI' version did not load correctly the Wallet from keys, monerujo and mywallet gave me 0 transactions and 0 balance, I tried the 'CLI' version and I saw the light Smiley
sincerely after this negative experience I will stay away from monero wallet as long as they are more user friendly.
thank you

The issue may have been caused by you setting an erroneous restore height:

https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/7581/what-is-the-relevance-of-the-restore-height

It was one of the first things I thought, in monerujo I also tried to restore from block 0.
the strange thing is that windows gui did not even allow me to load the wallet from the keys,

Did you try to restore from the private keys or from the 25 word mnemonic seed?

Quote

perhaps there are incompatibilities between the wallet created offline by monero-wallet-generator (the last version I found is October 2017) and the new wallet 0.12.0.0 Lithium Luna.

There shouldn't be any.

I do not have disk space so I'm using a remote node. I try to import my wallet from the mnemonic seed because if I insert the keys in 'monero' gui does not continue. the balance always remains at 0 I tried to create the wallet from block 0 and also from block 1546000, moreover as the receiving address does not give me my original address but a subaddress that does not start with 4, and this address is not accepted by any exchange . with the same seed node settings and block height, windows cli and even monerujo work. I'm probably wrong with something, even creating a new wallet does not generate a usable address, always only sub-addresses that can not be used

Can you check whether the stagenet or testnet box is checked in the wizard (of the GUI)?

The balance on the left top shows the combined balance.

The current GUI version also indicates "View Only" on top left. Nice touch. It would also be nice to indicate the current wallet name as some if not many of us do maintain more than one wallet. I think I suggested/requested this feature a couple of versions ago. The dark theme is great; easy on the aging eyes.  Grin

The name of the current wallet is displayed on the Settings page (under Debug info) in GUI v0.12.

Thanks for pointing it out. I had stared at that particular Settings section on a few occasions but obviously oblivious to the wallet name info. Aging eyes indeed.  Grin

Looks like you're on the right chain. You're either connected to a bad peer (i.e. a peer that is on the wrong (alternative) chain) or a peer that's syncing off of you.

I rolled back using monero-blockchain-import --pop_blocks 18000 then resynchronized. Still a couple of problems. Monerod stopped synchronized several times during the process and I had to exit and restart. I've seen that before but never so often.

It's a known issue unfortunately, see:

https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/3656

https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/3713

When I finally got synchronized all seemed fine but now I suddenly have a new top block candidate several hundred blocks in the future to which I am slowly catching up (1 block/2 minutes as expected). Any ideas? Do I have a bad peer? How do I fix that? Thanks in advance.

That's because your daemon is connected to a bad peer (i.e. a peer that is on the wrong (alternative) chain). The daemon should eventually ban this peer though. Alternatively, you can ban it manually by typing "ban " (without quotation marks) into monerod. In addition, a restart may fix this kind of issue.

I'm also having trouble after the recent hard fork.  Monero runs well on my local machine, but I'm also running it on a vps and on that machine Monero has done nothing but give me headaches since the upgrade.

What kind of issues are you incurring? Also, are you sure your node on the VPS is on the correct chain?

Tell me when the next hard fork on Monero blockchain happens and what new coin appears? Why does the Monero team do so many forks in recent times whether these forks will have a bad effect on the development of the main Monero blockchain?

Monero has a protocol upgrade twice a year.  This is to integrate all of the new features, as it is one of the few coins with continual development.  The scammers and whatnot using and reanming the old discarded forks of monero are something else, but nobody really cares.
