What happened to the hoard of reddit supporters? They have no issue funding marketing bullshit so they can line their greedly little pockets but when it comes to the most important core parts of the project they are no where to be found. It's almost as if security is kicked from the back seat into the trunk. I bet if we put up a funder to get some second rate hack actor like Seagal it would be funded in 10 minutes.

Half way mark broken. C'mon guys we all know this is going to get funded eventually but why not sooner rather than later? I'll go ahead and send a bit more. Let's get this rolling. This is going to be big for us.

LOL, FYI Intel Enclaves are worthless and your data is not safe. Funny how everything I warn about eventually becomes openly true isn't it. Wink

Quote
In general, when in doubt, do not use non-native forks of Monero. If there’s an improvement that a coin makes over Monero, you can generally rest assured that the Monero community will either adopt it immediately, or be easily convinced to do so. However, so far, we haven’t found any non-native Monero forks which we wanted to recommend. Meanwhile, the Monero Research Lab continues to improve the Monero technology through its collaboration with cryptocurrency researchers from multiple projects worldwide.

@explorer:  Maybe is a scam I don't know , but I hold monero since may 2017 and if I can get money for free, why not? If you are thinking is a scam and it has no value, then if you get, send my your moneroV

Well I do know, because I can read and comprehend.  Research.  read.  learn.  Or not.  your call.
Money for free -  implies you can sell it... somewhere, to someone.  Where?  Whom?   At what cost?

  crickets...

I've been holding and using XMR since May as well.  Just May 2014.

Why don't I just send you my private keys now?  post your home address, and I'll get on it.   Roll Eyes

Alongside with a good friend of mine, we created GoMonero - The Preev of Monero Community.

where should I hold my XMR if I want to get MoneroV? Thanks

Dupea: I'd like a, uh, plain omelette, uh, no potatoes, tomatoes instead, a cup of coffee, and wheat toast.
Waitress: No substitutions.
Dupea: What do you mean? You don't have any tomatoes?
Waitress: Only what's on the menu. You can have a number two - a plain omelette. It comes with cottage fries and rolls.
Dupea: Yeah, I know what it comes with, but it's not what I want.
Waitress: Well, I'll come back when you make up your mind.
Dupea: Wait a minute. I have made up my mind. I'd like a plain omelette, no potatoes on the plate, a cup of coffee, and a side order of wheat toast.
Waitress: I'm sorry. We don't have any side orders of toast. I'll give you an English muffin or a coffee roll.
Dupea: What do you mean you don't make side orders of toast? You make sandwiches, don't you?
Waitress: Would you like to talk to the manager?
Palm Apodaca: Hey, Mac . . .
Dupea: [to Apodaca] Shut up. [to the waitress] You've got bread and a toaster of some kind?
Waitress: I don't make the rules.
Dupea: Okay, I'll make it as easy for you as I can. I'd like an omelette, plain, and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast, no mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce, and a cup of coffee.
Waitress: A number two, chicken sal san, hold the butter, the lettuce, and the mayonnaise, and a cup of coffee. Anything else?
Dupea: Yeah. Now all you have to do is hold the chicken, bring me the toast, give me a check for the chicken salad sandwich, and you haven't broken any rules.
Waitress: You want me to hold the chicken, huh?
Dupea: I want you to hold it between your knees. [Palm and Terry smirk]
Waitress: You see that sign, sir? Yes, you'll all have to leave. I'm not taking any more of your smartness and sarcasm.
Dupea: You see this sign? [sweeps all the water glasses and menus off the table]

http://scamcoin.com  has all of the answers.

Out of sheer curiosity, what would you want monerov for?  It has no purpose, no markets, no value, and is such an obvious scam.  You can't even put it on a shelf to laugh at. You can't see it, you can't sell it trade it or spend it.  It's a virtual scam.  What is the point?

Scamcoin.com!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Really, there is no point in this spork, but people will do it anyway chasing a quick buck. Luckily I'm fairly certain most people actually interested in Monero won't bother. Has there been an analysis done on how much these greedy few could potentially affect others though? I'd be interested in reading it if so.

It is good for XMR to make its place among top five which are only cryptocurrencies of which price index is added on cointelegraph. It will have its impact in the long run with this kind of exposure. It provides easy access to changes while reading all the articles at the same time. Though little step but huge affect it will produce.

Indeed, free publicity for Monero is the way to look at it I think, and the more interest for Monero generated out of this the better for the coin in the long-run! Grin

SHIT, Afraid to Google Shum now, lets see how long I can hold out. And I just blame aminorex for everything, it makes things easier! Cheesy

NOT caught up yet (threads) and out of time so I'll just ask. HAS there been a Proven ASIC sighting or is it all just conjecture still?

Fluffypony said in the last dev meeting that they exist, he had been given evidence of it.  We will see at the end of the month, if the hash rate drops and doesn't bounce back.  I expect a drop under any circumstances, as there are always pools that are slow to update, and bot nets might fall in this catagory.  The ASICS will just die, leaving a  hole in the total hash rate.  Perhaps there are enough like me that will mine during that period that it will mitigate somewhat.  Time will tell.

Code:
12:20 PM <@fluffypony> if we wait till September then new ASICs will be taped out
12:20 PM <@fluffypony> the end
12:20 PM *shrug* ok
12:21 PM \o/
12:21 PM well he is right ... you would have to develop some change in hidden... how do you want to test sth thats hidden and review it ?
12:21 PM are there ASICs on the way?
12:21 PM <+moneromooo> The fork is pushed back to end of march, due to the two weeks faffing around.
12:21 PM <@fluffypony> psychocrypt: ASICs already exist
12:21 PM well is there anything we dont know in that regard ?
12:21 PM really ?
12:22 PM fluffypony: what??
12:22 PM ⇐ foobar000 quit (b99f9d09@gateway/web/freenode/ip.185.159.157.9) Ping timeout: 260 seconds
12:22 PM somebody made an FPGA
12:22 PM but ASICs...?
12:22 PM <@fluffypony> somebody taped out an ASIC
12:22 PM when did this happen?
12:22 PM the reddit post you mean ?
12:22 PM link?
12:22 PM <@fluffypony> sidechannelled to me, not public
12:22 PM <@fluffypony> a handful of others have had similar confirmation via via
12:22 PM @fluffypony: are this ASICS or FPGAs?
12:23 PM <@fluffypony> were it just me I would find it suspicious
12:23 PM <@fluffypony> psychocrypt: ASICs, not FPGAs

Anyone that knows anything knew the bolded is bullshit and tor has been compromised for years. Of course I think it's accepted that only the Bad guys need to worry about that, IOW because the NSA cannot come out in court and say "Yup we busted you cause tor is compromised" that it is safe enough if you are not doing something really bad and if you are they have special courts for you and you will not have the rights to demand the proof against you anyway. Smiley

AFA the funding, so what The navy wrote the software in the first place this is well known.

Well I mean there is compromised and there is COMPROMISED. Sort of like how there is a difference between "we can expend some resources and figure out a users activity if we need to" and "we have a searchable database cataloging all user activity on this network".

We all knew that they could attack it by running tons of nodes and doing timing analysis and stuff like that. Maybe they occasionally found other vulnerabilities and exploits maybe those got patched maybe quickly maybe not so quickly. But I think it's an altogether different thing to learn that the entire operation is funded from top to bottom by the deep state. And I also think there is a difference between the original software being developed by the navy vs the orginal software being developed by the navy + the deep state is still funding nearly all of it's development to this day.

Basically I'm trying to make the case that this is a meaningful revelation that tells us some things that we might have speculated about but didn't know before and that how ever much we trusted tor before (like you said about useful scenarios) we should trust it less now.

I can't fault that logic, but I thought it was well known they control over 1/3 the nodes and there is a date that you should check (I forgot what it is) to use only nodes created before that point for security. I2p I believe is a real grassroots reply to tors breach. But for all we know it's black Op funded as well. 3 Letter agencies need ways to communicate secretly as well, even from the other 3 letter agencies. Wink

Hell Cryptonote was probably a 3 letter employee or 2 that did it on the gov's dime with consent, perfect way to push it out to the world too in a easily identified scamcoin.

SHUM
Oh god you're gross man. I had to look that up. Ew.

Not sure I want to know what you were looking up, but Should Have Used Monero apparently wasn't what you found  Cheesy

No. No it was not. I figured it out but I still blame aminorex for making me try to look it up. Cheesy
