Secure, private, untraceable which of these features are unique for cryptocurrency?
None. It's about the combination of all of them, the approach, the seriousness and the fairness, what people like about this coin.

The total size of the global cryptocurrency market has rapidly expanded by more than 300 billion U.S. dollars. On November 3, the market size just exceeded 200 billion U.S. dollars. It only took less than a month to rise from 200 billion U.S. dollars to 300 billion U.S. dollars. In contrast, the market size reached 100 billion US dollars in June of this year.

Are there any reliable benchmarks for a VEGA 56 in Monero mining? I've seen numbern between 1000 and almost 2000 which raises the question which of them are valid and which not.
I would be interested in the numbers for a reference VEGA 56 with reasonable mem OC (925 - 950?) and undervolted GPU core, no BIOS mod! Moreover, I would like to know the _real_ power consumption (at the wall) or a card with these settings.
Anyone who has it running like that and can provide the numbers (with miner being used).
I'm thinking about switching from GTX 1060s to VEGA, but there must be any benefit Smiley

Since the beginning of November MONERO has grown more than twice. It's just impressive. And even now I think MONERO has still a good potential of growth to the end of the year. Now all the money goes almost to the top of Alta. So I think after a small correction going on. It is possible to soon see $ 200. Next year I think projects like monero protecting the anonymity of the Internet will be a huge success

Any other coins out there like monero, ie private transaction based? I hate the gui wallet, about 3 days to full sync which I understand but every time I restart it jumps back to re-resync last 22000 or so blocks. The $@$t is painfully slow and boggs down my computer. Im done with this monero crap from a user stand
point

There is another private-transaction-based coin out there and it is called Electroneum. It's just been issued and the price is low, so a great time to buy. Have a look here for more info.. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/porelectroneumofficial-moderated-thread-2353282 and..https://electroneum.com/ .

Oh no not another one. Now we have Monero Gold, absolutely nothing to do with Monero, just as we now have Bitcoin Diamond, nothing to do with Bitcoin. What is it with these coin manufacturers who think that if you stick Bitcoin or Monero in front of something it will validate the coin as something useful - good luck to them.

Keep what's important, and know who's your friend
there is site monerodice dot net . this thing is runned by their main developer and it locks my 9 bucks.
what to say...fucked fluffypony

I think withdrawals may still be manual, so you have to just wait. It's a legit site, even though I've likely lost more than I won there.  Tongue

Yeah tippero took my money too, best’d stay away from him... that boy ain’t right.

Who? FP? Sorry, I'm confused? Huh

Just a bad joke... sorry, tone of voice doesn’t transmit well via text. Tongue

Wallet-Monero Is a New Website Attempting to Steal Your XMR

https://themerkle.com/wallet-monero-is-a-new-website-attempting-to-steal-your-xmr/

WALLET-MONERO IS NOT AN OFFICIAL PROJECT

When people enter the phrase “Monero wallet” in any search engine, odds are they will come across the Wallet-Monero website sooner or later. While this website may seem genuine and somewhat professional, it is evident the service is not endorsed by the Monero community in any official capacity. There are a few working wallet solutions for Monero right now, with Ledger and TREZOR support to follow in the next few months.

The list of “approved” Monero wallets contains no mention of Wallet-Monero. This goes to show the company has no honest intentions whatsoever, and the service should be avoided at all costs. Although it may seem like a genuine web wallet solution, the only service people should trust is MyMonero, which is the only official web wallet and is run by the XMR developers themselves. Any other service claiming to provide similar functionality is not legitimate until proven otherwise....

Wow, awesome, so Trezor and Ledger support coming!
I was just about to ask, since I am definitly not up-to-date in regards to the XMR-train, if a light-wallet, comparable to the Electrum-Bitcoin wallet for example, is in near sight for a public release?

On a side note: In my option the lack of simple wallet solutions for the avarage joe-user is what keeps Monero from its well deserved mainstream success right now.
Ledger and Trezor support is a good start, though.

This is very true. When Ledger support is available XMR is going to the next level.

I am a small investor in this but am anticipating more purchases. Kicking myself for not buying in at $5 when I first started watching this coin and buying a few hundred

Disobey.

I have used this light wallet on Android (sorry no apple yet):

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.m2049r.xmrwallet&hl=en

It's legit, although I only tested with 1 XMR a few weeks ago.

(It does take a few minutes to sync, but it does work).  Wink

Very nice indeed, thanks for the tip! Open source and storing priv key locally, fantastic.
Will have to check, though, if this has enough peer reviews (not a coder myself...).
