When will we see the official release of the GUI wallet?  I think this will help to get ordinary users to start using Monero as their cryptocurrency after bitcoin.

hopefully monerohash.com's recent upgrade to allow mining directly to an exchange, although not ideal, will move some of the hashrate from the others
I'd like that to happen  Smiley

the reason minergate has so much hash is because they have a browser miner.... which, you know, is just weird.
Mining in the browser is actually extremely slow. Most probably the reason they have so much hash is because their GUI miner has a "Smart Mining" feature (enabled by default) that mines the most profitable coin, which right now happens to be Monero. And that's probably why Minergate's XMR hash has gone up a lot from what they used to have.

Indeed, I've been watching a steady ramp up over the last 8 days.  Smiley  Distribution of miners however could be better split up.

Right now the "unknown" HR is up to ~53%

https://monerohash.com/#network

Uknown is a lot of things though. Its solo daemon miners (the true believers!) and its those running their own private pools (like me... 1 kh of the unknown is mine).Basasically anyone who hasn't told osensei the ip / url of their mining operation is in the unknown.

Regarding the bolded, hopefully monerohash.com's recent upgrade to allow mining directly to an exchange, although not ideal, will move some of the hashrate from the others.... then again, the reason minergate has so much hash is because they have a browser miner.... which, you know, is just weird.

So yeah. I think in the short term a good thing would be to update the mining software bundles for windows users to avoid the CLI.

It would be a 4 figure sale
Must be a really great domain name if it's worth so much.  You should keep it!

Isn't many better than xmr.xyz for Monero. It's generic and the xyz extension is a top 10 international domain growing faster than any others by a large margin. Other 3 letter xyz domains have gone for $70 USD recently to tens of thousands.

I have been trying to get the time to devote to Monero but it's just not in the cards for now. FreeMonero.com is another one I own that has been around a few years. Wish I could do more. Maybe over the winter! Undecided

Hello Monero Community! I'm entertaining offers on the domain xmr.xyz. If anyone can point me in the right direction where I may be able to find a buyer that would benefit the community? Really just hate to see such a good domain go unused. It would be a 4 figure sale so anything less than that I am not interested. Thanks all! And really good job in creating and growing your community.

Good luck! Maybe when 1 monero = $1k someone in the community will have the funds to free the domain and develop it.

Or you could offer it on afraid.org for subdomain registration.

Bookmarked that page to take a look into it. Thank you for the advice!

SELLING MY CAR FOR STEEM!
https://steemit.com/forsale/@kingjohal/selling-my-car-for-steem-btc-usd-used-2006-chrysler-300-touring-usd8888

I love XMR and will continue to watch this coin!...just wanted to share that news with you all. Thank you! Would be so thankful if you took some time to read my story!

This won't end well.

Edit: At least it isn't your primary mode of transportation, or your house. I recall people selling their houses and the like when Bitcoin peaked in price a few years ago, and it didn't end well for them.

I didn't realize things were already over.

A valid point.  Poor timing doesn't necessitate failure.  A costly lesson perhaps, but its not over til its over.

No doubt they could've hodled. In this case, the logic assumes that it's a good idea to hold Steem for the long term, though! Good luck with that!
