3x R9 290 ... it always crashes eventually, sometimes after 12 hrs, sometimes up to a week but eventually it always does.  I was always running it without any parameters set, now I added -li 1 .. that might help according to the claymore instructions in his thread but will it slow down hashing much?

What are the parameters I should be launching it with?  It would be nice if it wouldnt crash and I could forget about it.

Is there any software I can run under windows 8.1 which would monitor claymore GPU miner and restart miner/computer when it crashes?

It shouldn't crash.

You likely have an overclocking and/or heat issue affecting the stability.

What GPU?

Cool.
I got around the 8 core limit by utilizing 8 cores in each of the 3 regions (Asia, Europe, US).
Total of 24 cores, same as you described.

Using cluster you can launch 24 cores on a dozen of projects. I launched 160+ cores, then I got tired and killed them all.

Roger that.

You can break Google's 8 core limit on trial by using "container engine" (cluster). Sometimes when new project created the limit is 24 core, so create a cluster with 2x 8 core nodes (+1 main) = 24 core. Create several projects. On your own risk indeed.

And don't forget to point your hashrate to my pool http://hashinvest.net.

Cheers.

If any of you is located in the US or the rest of the Americas, for lower latency please give it a try to my pool at https://monerohash.com . Thanks!

^I tried it first half of June. The miner wasn't so optimized back then.

~290 hash/sec each from two D4 instances running wolf's miner, 8 threads, on Ubuntu 14.10

Edit: Yeah, at this rate, these two instances will max out the $200 in about 5-6 days, so I will be certain to delete them before the trial ends.  Shocked

I just got started mining XMR via FREE Windows Azure trial.
So, some of you may be interested in doing the same.
They have Linux and Windows OS options.
$200/1 month Free Trial.

I hope you're on my pool then.

It is strange, I thought Microsoft was auto banning every mining attempt on Azure.

You know it, Boss.

I located my two D4 instances in North Europe just to be closer to your pool.

And thanks, jwinterm, I will check out the Goog trial also.

You should spread the hashrate to some others pools to secure the network Smiley

When I used the Azure free trial I was getting about 80 H/s from it. Don't forget to delete your virtual machine and subscription when it's over or the next month you'll mine ~3 XMR for 200$.

Not sure if it's been posted here (and I haven't tested it myself), but Google Cloud is offering a $300/2 month trial of their cloud compute services.

Asked on IRC and got a link to cryptonote mining pool software on GITHUB.  Pasted below in case anyone else is interested.

https://github.com/zone117x/node-cryptonote-pool

Ill try that, thanks.

No, I meant some info on how to set up a pool myself.  For example where does one get the software from?

I suggest joining #monero-pools on IRC. There are usually people on there who can help you

Thanks in advance.

Could someone please point me to a tutorial on setting up a monero mining pool?

I am not sure you will be able to find a tutorial on setting up a mining pool.

Unless you mean connecting to an existing pool in order to mine on it.
