Holding because you don't want to play with fire is one thing.... but you do not want to be bag holding alt coins when BTC rallys

I'm gonna give this weekend a chance, if XMR dips further it's probably the end of the bull trend for now

Note the unconventional cAPITALIZATION!
September 08, 2016, 08:14:25 AM

Bears tamp down irrational exuberance with TA, while bulls just keep building on fundamentals.

I agree that right now the wild card is the fundamentals here.  In fact it has been from the beginning.  In fact it's more than a wild card.  It's a trump card.  But those very fundamentals have brought us enough volume to actually be able to see some classic market patterns forming.  And ignoring at least basic TA could be quite costly.

Of course the ideal of buy and hold trumps all TA in the end.  It is what I am doing with my core holding.  I have X amount that I will not drop under.  Not for a long time at least.

And I am not generally a "trader".  But I see some fairly plain opportunities.  And at the moment I am still waiting for a little more drop to get my "play money" back in.  It ends up win/win/win for me because:

1.  Monero just keeps going up.  I win.
2.  Monero goes down to below .0176.  At this point I get back in with the play money and cross fingers.  I have more Monero again! I win.
3.  Monero suffers some sort of disaster with it's "DAO" oh wait.. we don't have one of those things.  Or Masternodes get compromised... oh wait... wrong again.  Well I guess Poloniex could Gox us.  That's about it.  But then I go ALL in with my play money and thank the stars because that will make Monero as cheap as it ever can be.

I remember when bitcoin  was ~$2-3 for a very very long time.  I didn;t buy a single one.  I won a shit ton of them playing poker, but bought none.

I'm done making that mistake.  It's amazing we are getting to do this again.

Apologies if this has already been discussed previously.

For the last three weekends we've seen a spike in price. Anyone have any theories as to why this happens at the weekend? To say that it's caused by an influx of weekend warriors seems to simply beg the question.

We touched the 0,0180xxx's for a few times now. If this trend lasts, we will probably see the 0,017xxx's at the next dump  Roll Eyes

eh..XMR has a much greater market cap and volume than DASH now...the trading range of 0.018 - .02 is basically four times the price a month ago.

There's going to be a correction if BTC spikes but hey.

I agree on the market cap, but you know, I care more about the value of the amount I have Wink
And yes, it's still 6x bigger than the price when I've first seen XMR and about 24x bigger than the minimum price I've seen.
I'm not complaining Smiley

No worries Smiley ..I was just a bit confused since until a few weeks back I'd thought Dash had lead XMR in terms of most metrics.

After the current rise of BTC it's going to be interesting indeed.
If BTC continues to rise I expect the alts to fall. If it was a short time pump, it may help the alts grow a little.
But what happened to XMR? I liked it when it was much bigger than DASH, but I see the correction time has come...
Will XMR drop more or will it stay in the 0.0185-0.02 range?

I have understood that the loans should not carry any risk over the usual platform risk. (Which historically has been very high, easily over 30% of exchanges bite the dust in a year).

..holding a margined long position...
Paying polo margin rates is crazy.  At least mortgage your house or something.  Sell your children, whatever.

I've been glad to do it.  Unmortgaged the house, bought the kids back out of their indenture.  All without selling a single coin from my carefully nurtured little stack.  Positively life changing.  Hooray for 0.05 - 1% daily loans and a raging bull market  Wink

How secure are the loans on Polo? I mean it's possible to lose money on the loans isn't it?

Exactly 3.14159265358979323846264338327950 days from now, or about 24 x 355/113 hours
I like to trade monero now because the price is so volatile and I am seeing that it is more on the upwards directly, it is like dancing now going up and I believe we can see that 0.03 btc price soon not later than this month or this week possibly, just keep buying now.

hello world
September 08, 2016, 01:54:01 AM
oh guys its really funny, i never thought i would also buy at this kind of prices but here i am, still nibling here and there a few  Kiss
hard to get rid of old habits i guess Grin

i try to trade the swings on leverage, liq on polo is good on both sides and market makers do a fascinating job as most of the time. bitcoin lending markets recoverd nicely after the last run up, its definetely worth watching besides the XMR lending data. leverage became a nice tool for self discipline that stops me from bagholding my trading stash too long and do more swing trading instead. sure i also could do that normally but im also lazy and like the pnl view Roll Eyes

prices still feel unreal from time to time, but i get more used to it every day:D

good luck to everybody, ofc i also hope it goes up and we go north 0.03. long live monero!
