Y'know how Risto said the rises are logarithmic and the next stop was .04.....

I'm sure he didn't mean by Sunday.

[EDIT] it look like most of the most of the sell side is still asleep...peeps are going to awake and clear a path

BAM! ATH again.

And now is the time that I am SO glad I didn't penny pinch. It was for exactly this reason. I could smell that explosion coming.

Nice one.  I'm down to a final colour choice for my new truck  Cheesy

So, here's a question...

While I don't like what BTC is or is becoming these days, I don't buy into the theory it is "dead".  So, what happens to XMR when/if BTC decides to increase in price?

Will the XMR/BTC market readjust or will a 'rising tide raise all boats'?

Or will XMR bring new money into BTC, even?

Definitely have to disagree with explorer on that one. There has always been a strong anti-correlation between the prices of btc and monero. Monero could still rise in a rising btc environment to be sure, but probably always less than it would have in a falling btc environment.

I was also a firm believer in the inverse correlation in the past, but the variables have changed completely and this will no longer hold true. A BTC rise may be met with a brief pause but expect XMR to rocket after that.

And here we go ...0.02 incoming

Edit: Done on massive buys

Perhaps.  I used to firmly believe that BTC needed to succeed wildly for XMR to follow suit.  To rely on the compounding effect.  Now I'm not sure at all.  Sitting here at  0.01979 BTC  with an open USDXMR market and surely more to follow is eye opening.  Snowball mode indeed!

I got in literally like 15 minutes before. You know how in scifi movies they always have a scene where the space ship is flying towards a closing hangar door and gets through as the last tiny bit of crack remains. That was me Grin

When btc is boring and stagnating its capital flows into alts. When it rises people get excited and move some of their capital out of alts and back into bitcoin.

when the media writes about a hot new cc called MONERO, more private than BTC, people will invest in it simply because they know what happened to BTC. especially the ones who missed the BTC ride will bring new € into XMR in hopes that they'll make huge profit as long as there is media coverage. A scandal involving XMR or something at this point might draw attention. XMR is already in snowball mode.

all boats will rise, and XMR rise will bring more attention to BTC.

I received a note from Kraken today, apologizing for the delay in answering my ticket.  They are unusually busy.  Why? BTC is boring, not attracting any interest of its own to incite the traffic.  Curious.

Trying to purchase XMR on polo and NO ONE WILL SELL. It's frustrating.

Buy now, or wait for a seller @ .02

I posted this earlier, but it is relevant again.

I was going to up my margin long this morning, but the rates are going astronomical. Now I wish I had done it regardless.

Yea I'll be on the sloshing yacht. I love sailing yachts. Some of the coolest things money can buy. I have a very small one actually. Would very much like to be able to afford a nice one. Grin

And yea you are right. I stopped trying to penny pinch and just bought into the very thin liquidity on the sell side. Roll Eyes You can see it reflected in the most recent candle.

So let's make a new prediction: We'll break 0.0043 this year.

I think that understates just how undervalued XMR is, and just how powerful Monero's position is in regards to securing an increasingly invincible marketcap.

A lot of cryptocurrency speculators are still very much naive in respect of Monero's extraordinary backstory, the cryptography, and the demonstrable power of it's industrial community.

But there has been a shift - a tangible sense that we are now in a prime position to occupy a space than can only really be matched by Bitcoin itself. The recent StackExchange victory proves that whatever the size of one's marketcap, it is the power of community, the egalitarian nature of the genesis, and the skill of the underlying codebase which are the real qualities that will carry projects forward without decline.

Resistance at the 0.004-0.005 level may well be inevitable, but the speed and ferocity at which it is finally broken shouldn't be of any objective surprise. Thus, I wouldn't be surprised if we were toying with 0.0160 by years end.

Either way, Monero now only has to double in value for it to be one place behind Dash on the marketcap. Consequently, and in conjunction with a perceived "Monero vs ZCash" conversation that will make Dash increasingly irrelevant, speculative and community leakage will pour massively into the Monero ecosystem and the levees will break.

Without knowing it, suddenly Monero has a marketcap in excess of $100 million.

I still can't believe this actually came true.

The recent StackExchange victory

What is this in reference to?

http://monero.stackexchange.com/

Only cryptos that have their own stackexchange site are bitcoin, ethereum, and now monero.

Wow! What an endorsement. Shocked

Not endorsement - but big community effort.

Yeah no endorsement... actually you CANNOT BUY a stackexchange site, this is stated by SE themselves on their site. So we achieved this with a good technical community.

46 transactions in a block wow: http://moneroblocks.info/block/1127172

Equivalent to 230 transcations in a Bitcoin (10 minute) block

our Monero is growing up so fast  Cry

So you predicted 0.016 by years end... is that it? Sad
