Monero as in Money Nero = Black Money? Shitty name if you're looking for trouble.

You should consider a rebranding like Dash did.

No. Make sure your assumptions are correct before commenting on them.
Monero is "currency" in Esperanto.

The nero=black suffix is still there and ugly if you ask me. Doesn't look good.

http://dictionary.reverso.net/italian-english/nero

Once you've had black you never go back--especially if the choices are between an opaque blockchain and a clear one.

I think you've made the argument for the name stronger, not weaker.   Wink

Well at least one of you guys has the balls to say it like it is. You're wrong though. The Black Money name is good for a limited niche of cryptodope fiends, smoking stuff bought from your black market of choice but poor choice if you want to have a broad appeal.

You are just obnoxiously trolling at the moment. Like binaryFate stated, Monero means "currency" in esperanto.

you can also choose from these multiple options.
jeez

Yeah whatever. It's a name destined to fail. No one will take black money seriously. It's cool if you only wanna spend it for underground drug dealing BS but that's pretty much it. No way this will go mainstream unless you go through a re-branding like Dash did from Darkcoin.

Money Nero has long way to go.

Crosspost:

For those following, there is a glibc exploit that affects all Bitcoin nodes (and all nodes of Bitcoin clones).

Here is Google's writeup on the issue: https://googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.com/2016/02/cve-2015-7547-glibc-getaddrinfo-stack.html

It can be exploited by an attacker in a number of scenarios, primarily when resolving DNS seeds.

Monero is unaffected by this, as we do not use glibc's getaddrinfo().

So we just passed Dash on the CoinGecko rankings and they have 2x the market cap we do at $16 million???  No way, we could easily run and hold $2 (0.00440k) no sweat.  In fact that would nearly be fair value for us.

0.0044 was a fair value during summer 2014 already.
Should be higher already especially considering the emission curve. When 11 million bitcoins were mined, the price of one bitcoin was higher than the price of a Monero.

XMR is currently at a double top.

3 cases:

1) Breakout (0.00238879)
2) Pullback,
  a) Rise again for a triple top break
  b) Pullback and fail (if it gives a sell at 0.00167545). Sometimes a double top can be very bearish.
3) Consolidate (more X/O columns without a buy/sell signal).

The above are based in the usual chart I have posted here (1d HL, 3%x3).

Do I understand correctly that it can go up, down, or sideways? Sounds like a safe bet to me  Grin.
A common 'mistake' people make is that all TA is about predicting the future price.

PnF is not a method like that - it gives you a map. Where you wanna go and how is your choice (for example in a support you can buy with less risk or you can sell with more risk, reward would be the inverse, it's your choice though).

PnF is a method that gives objective price breakouts and support/resistances.

So once you have that info you can choose your strategy.

Did you know that ETH is a sell just now?

No sure anyone was told but Monero arranged for a pump with some known Poloniex traders. Don't buy into this BS.

If no one was told, then how does anyone know?

Are people aware this is an orchestrated pump meant to create a FOMO?

Some are, some aren't. Things go up and down. I don't have FOMO. It's likely that it will retrace again, of course. That much volume? Of course it more than smells like a concerted effort.

Yeah, sure does. I wonder what the real price is.  There was another pump few days ago and price crashed all of a sudden.

Do you know who can one pay to create such pumps on specific coins? I have heard some pumper trader whales are doing it for a fee.

You can pay truecryptionare to pump.

The real price? The last price was on the ticker - the next price will only be found in hindsight.

How much for a pump from say 4 mil mkt cap to 10 mil mkt cap, decent $500k volume and sustain that for a few days?

About $500k probably, give or take.
