bitcoin had a very good rally and people might want to take their profit

The rally is not over yet but when it is the drop will be quite noticeable.
welp sadly i wasnt right. atleast my stop got filled Cheesy

since this is a speculation thread after all

facts:
btc/xmr on polo = 0.01393
btc/usdt on polo = 3670

my assumtions (even tho i think chart analysis is complete bogus):
monero bounced back up at around this lvl twice the last two weeks so maybe it will do it again
bitcoin had a very good rally and people might want to take their profit

my positions/trades:
150 monero long at 0.01393 (margin)
0.5 btc sell for usdt at 3600

what are your views?

With the way Monero is going on the market, don't trade it on margin.  There will be lots of sideways action that doesn't really make you any profit and the exchange keeps raking in interest from the amount borrowed.

If you're gonna invest in Monero, it's buy and hold in cold storage.

i dont really understand why monero keeps dropping in usdt price. if its not increasing okay but why drop?
any insights?

Patience.  If you refuse to learn patience the easy way (self-discipline) then you will be forced to learn it the old-fashioned way (suffering).

Bchxbt has topped again.  All logic tells me that Eth is doomed for the foreseeable.  Are the next leading black markets going to use the free software world's meritocratic hard asset, or the Mossad's 20% corporate tax coin, the coin that took down alpha bay?

I don't know how long it will take the next legit DNM leader to emerge.  But I do know it will do 10x the traffic of SR1, and it will be using XMR.  That means XMR $1000 USD is less than a year away.  Possibly less than 6 months away, in a rationally discounting world (unlike this one.)

When people try to excite your emotions, they are seeking an advantage over you in the market place. Rely on facts and logic.  You will find a cool head wins over a hot heart most of the time.

Great post.

It can be a bit hard from time to time to rely on facts and logic in this space, even when I have a job just because of that. All these ICO's out of nowhere that do an instant 20x enriching a small group of people, obvious scam coins (premined/instamined etc) and inferior fungibility coins mooning, '20% corporate tax coins', etc etc.

This while Monero is there right in front of them, it is beautiful in so many ways that I sometimes wonder why a majority can't seem to acknowledge this.

But I persist and only invest (and use!) in what I understand having long term value. Monero (and Bitcoin) I could easily just not touch for a decade, there are currently very few other crypto projects that fit this criteria.

We will see but here is to the crazy ones.

All those lucky people being offered reliable access to reasonably priced Monero, I am happy they will have ample opportunity in which to afford themselves a bit of something good and real. If anything else, I hope they get it for a little cheaper (and me too) Smiley

With Zcash as the current "top dog" when it comes to annonymous transfers, does XMR really have potential to go over 50$ ?

Zcash creators can print Zcashes from the fresh air without noone noticing. Try google "zcash trusted setup". You are welcome Smiley

If they can, but I don't think they will.  That would be bad for business, unless they're really scammers which I think they're not.

Anyway, XMR is looking good in terms of low volatility.  It's def the right time to watch this closely if you haven't taken a position yet.  I hope BCC pumps soon so I can sell for a good price and put all the proceeds in Monero.

Monero is the only truely fungible coin.
It has some of the best and most active devs and a great roadmap for the near future (integration to coinomi and hardwarewallets and kovri).
On top: There is no marketin at all. Imagine how fast the fomo will kick in Smiley

Eth is certainly beating Monero in the blockchain growth race, 150gb increase in just 6 months

https://etherscan.io/chart/chaindatasize

Wow! After seeing this tool and clicking on a couple of wallet addresses, I will never use ETH or any derivatives for anything!

You can see Everything even a USD value estimate, ETH is not exactly Monero, is it?

Can't be serious...ETH is 'doomed' AND $1000 usd per XMR less than a year... less than 6 months?

Will be doing VERY well if it hits $100 usd per in a year. A lot of that will have to do how far BTC rises.

Monero will surely still rise but the question for me is "will is rise in better ration than the rise in bitcoins?"
Because I need to buy monero from my bitcoins. Yeah I've heard about the diversification of investment but still, I want to be sure which one to make a prime investment.

For the poor, learning and research about Bitcoin does not improve their lives.

I happen to live in a town where a local supermarket accepts bitcoin. Every time i explain bitcoin to someone i tell them that they can buy bitcoin, wait until price is up, and then buy groceries with same bitcoin. The result of this is cheaper groceries. How does this not help the poor?

Poor people are not poor because there are no possibilities, they are generally poor because they do not make use of the possibilities. Some people listened (including myself lol) and they are not poor anymore, while the majority had this 'i am poor and there is nothing i can do about it'-mindset and they stayed poor, even though i explained bitcoin to them since 2010. Some still tell me they are going to invest tomorrow, because today they need the money to go to cinema or something.

I agree that being poor gives a very small 'wiggle room' to play round with money and investments, but once people understand bitcoin ( and monero !) they put themselves on a exponential path.
Two tips i always give to people when they ask how to get rich is 1.) learn what money is. If you want to catch a fox you need also to know how a fox thinks, so the same applies to money, and 2) start practicing to calculate everything (everything!) in percentages. And then watch yourself grow, and grow, and then meet the hockey-stick moment in exponential growth...

I still sometimes find myself astonished that Monero - Monero! - has yet to achieve a 1B dollar market cap.

It will.  Only a matter of time.  It's just too fucking perfectly timed for the moment to not soar.  But please don't tell anyone, yet I am still below my target stash.

Wink

Well, for heaven's sake hurry up. The rest of us are waiting Wink
