Methinks it is time to short ETH

I've got to give him credit, Anonymint called this one a while back.

I think Chris deRose and Junseth have called it way before than him.  It's very possible that Shelby might have even gotten the idea from them.

I don't know the exact chronology here, but 'mint's posts go back a ways, at least 2015. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/which-crypto-coins-are-investment-securities-implications-1218269

That said, his views on the issue have been all over the map over time, which is maybe fair since it has been an evolving environment.

It is:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.20047440

Posted that last July 10 when it was beginning to be obvious the price wasn't holding.  It's pretty obvious just by looking at the bare chart with no trend lines and indicators a lot of people love to use.

Nice to see. So what will be the legal ramifications of the hard fork to reallocate the DAO? Is that even being investigated? Can the winner of the DAO take legal action against the ETH Devs now? Are they now liable for the attempt to attack ETC?

Such a vacuum is truly anhorrent.  It will not stand.  I revise my estimates on XMR to 200 in October, 1000 in March, and 5000 before 2019.

Completely agree on vacuum instability and timeline.

IMO the modulating factor will be hardware wallets. Huge speculative energy is tending to gravitate around assets that are either on the Ledger or the Trezor. (It turns out mainstream VCs are somewhat techno-illiterate.)

The moment that changes then you’re looking at Monero as a Top 3 coin.

Relatively Monero is so undervalued it is not even funny. What is so hard to understand about the need for financial privacy Aminorex?

The thing to remember is that STILL most "normal humans" (as opposed to us-here cryptonauts early-adopters) have NO IDEA YET about ANY of this stuff.

It's just gonna take TIME for people to *learn* about it, understand what it can do for them, and start to use it.

That's all.  Just time.  Rome Wasn't Built In A Day.

Fortunately IMHO when it comes to losing their MONEY?  Most people tend to wake up quick, and pay attention to try to learn *quickly* LOL

When the global economic crash *really* starts to kick in, people will freakin' WAKE UP and LEARN, quicker than you'll believe possible.

Those will be Monero Mooning Days, indeed :-P

there are tens of trillions of dollars in offshore wealth that exists and is looking for a place to park their money.

It dont only mention multi billions, but tens trillions. LOL
haven't even thought of that. once monero has proven its worth, this will come pouring in... when do you think that will happen? I've heard mention of it by FBI officials how they can't seem to crack it... surely the right people are starting to pay attention already right?

I personally see huge breakout of all real crypto and specially Monero at peak of next financial crysis.   I mention a peak and not at start, since only then people will start realizing what all they lost and search for alternatives.  When will that be I have no ideas.  But can easily happen in 2018.

It is happening, people. Read /r/DarkNetMarkets.  With n/m multisig in place, bitcoin will become a barbarous relic, and Monero will be the world currency.

Zooko had best get his wheels turning on Tezos, because Vitalik just stole another 80 millions, and ZEC is history.

The world is about to wake up and smell the coffee that has been brewing for the past 3 years.

I just do not understand how the mass of  people can be such dense, stiff-necked, blind sheep and yet not get slaughtered...oh, nevermind, that's coming too.

So Hansa market was a honeytrap.  Dream Market maybe too.  There is a huge multibillion dollar gap which DHL can not, will not fill.  Such a vacuum is truly anhorrent.  It will not stand.  I revise my estimates on XMR to 200 in October, 1000 in March, and 5000 before 2019.

Let me first make clear I am not complaining about the current price of a monero. Especially since Monero just works great paying privately for my VPS, email provider, etc (xmr.to is an awesome service).

That said I just can't understand people trowing mullions at the next ICO with just a flashy website. Bytecoin without any development having a close to Monero market cap, instamined dash with it's centralized nodes that has no real life usage, and I don't know what other crypto of the day. Paying on a DNM (which I luckily don't need with the affordable healthcare in my country) with bitcoin or any crytocurrency that has a transparant blockchain, really?

Relatively Monero is so undervalued it is not even funny. What is so hard to understand about the need for financial privacy Aminorex?

That's where the $1000 by March will come from!

The $1000 mark will simply come from people realizing that XMR has been undervalued for a very long time. At $1000, its market cap would still be below that of ETH's as of the time of this post. At that point XMR would become the solid #3 coin that many consider XMR should be at.

Offshore wealth getting into XMR will come later.

I don't believe Monero can reach $1.000 unless bitcoin reach $20.000 due to market capilazitaion psychologic borders. Being $1.000 makes monero a multi billion coin and this is not possible.

You seems to skip this post:

IMO the real gamechanger with XMR is going to be with offshore wealth.

It's been brought up on Reddit, but there are tens of trillions of dollars in offshore wealth that exists and is looking for a place to park their money. Who needs a shell company or a bank account in the Cayman Islands when XMR exists? Even Swiss bank accounts no longer provide the amount of privacy and secrecy that they used to.

It dont only mention multi billions, but tens trillions. LOL

Dont expect anything from this shit coin. I liked the project in the beginning and invested when the price was 0.018 5 months ago. I waited so long and just quit when it was 0.017. Now the price is even less. I wont waste my time with shit monero anymore.

You should have bought it 12 months ago. Then added more 6 months ago, and keep on adding every month. I bet you will not label it "shit monero" anymore.  Cool

I dind´t help you get off at 17...because 15 was a nicer number to me...Of course with maths people will always say that 15 or 17 or 11 its quit diferente. As i´m not that greedy and from what i expect of monero even getting in at 18 would have been good business long term.

Monero HUGE PUMP INCOMMING

Everytime monero touches 200MA, it gets a huge pump, i think whales have already been triggered and they are getting in as they see.

Buying time Wink

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/XMRBTC/rgJLD1PE-Monero-HUGE-PUMP-INCOMMING

In Monero's case, I hope it isn't just a pump.  I hope there's a good foundation or base on why it's increasing in price.  I mean this project is being developed by awesome devs, and I wish any price rise is due to actual usage and actual increase in users.

For some other coin, sure.  Go pump it, we know those other projects are in it for profit.  And we should ride that too.

Monero will get a nice big pump when a few of the ETH guys bragging about their newfound wealth have their knee caps smashed in with hammers. Unfortunate how some people are so naive, but after the first few incidents, the rest will learn quickly.
