In two days time will be exactly 4 years from the famous Alphabay announcement.   That is what we need now x10 in BTC so 0.08  Smiley

Wishful thinking is not good for business / trading (so I hope/guess that you are HODLer).
The 3.75% growth is far from 10x. I hope it'll hold and grow more. I don't dare to hope for 10x, not yet.
Right now it's a bit more than 3.75% in the past 24 hours, closer to 10% in fact.

And that is a rise against BTC.  If XMR/BTC can just get up into middling historic levels, say the mid teens - and Bitcoin has the year most expect in 2021, then in USD terms, 10X is plausible.

Not certain, no - but far from impossible. I will settle for less than that, but I refuse to rule it out.  Been around to long to rule things like that out where Monero is concerned.

Well, it's looking perky right now.   This seems a significant move.   When it popped back down briefly into the 7s I though 'ah well..'

But it snapped back up hard.  Let's see how this plays out.

Finally USD ATY! Took Monero long to recover from covid-19 and reach new all year high after previous in 15th February.
I also noticed number of transaction started to grow again after 2 months of pause. Maybe summer was the reason for pause. Last growing month was May then June had small decline and July had the same number as June had. Transactions are all that matters. All the rest will come with more transactions.

From my observation this entire crypto pullback has been a healthy retrace in an immature bullrun.  If Bitcoin can start back up I think we see key alts follow.  That means ETH and LINK and maybe LTC move quickly, and XMR grinds up slowly.

That is NOT an endorsement of ETH and LINK which I think are both lost causes in the end.  And Link may be at the top too.  That barstool guy buying it felt pretty toppy. And LTC is still interesting because of it's development.

But XMR does not tend to be as volatile as it's peers.

Until it is.

Just popped over the eight

I am hoping Monero is not so drunk that it will be unable to enjoy the view without falling back down.

Monero still acting like it acts... kind of mellow compared to the rest of the class.  I agree with the above and would like to see a new floor put in at .08 and see .07 in the rear view.

I think 008 is looming.

Look at the dollar chart, holding well and waiting to see what to do.

IIRC he really started with that when there was an agenda push to cut the emission by half because some of the original investors felt they we not profiting fast enough.

Not the emissioned coins but how fast they would be emitted. So 18 million XMR and tail emission would not be be started in 2022 but 8 years latter. Very soon was decided that changing emission schedule would be unfair. And should be only done before first coin was mined.

thanks, I left out the word schedule. Doh

fixed.

I ‘member...

“Don’t buy monero, use it” was said before this time period I’m thinking of, but Ric got a lot of flack from people who hated his “pre announcement” of something “huge” for monero, and he went on stage and trolled a bunch of people who bought the hype and released the Monero Enterprise Alliance announcement video.

Honestly that was when I was officially hooked. Fuck those ICO/masternode fucks in suits trying to cozy up to bankers. Use Monero.

I DO remember that one... lol.

I was a STRONG dissenter about that whole announcement of announcements charade.  I COMPLETELY supported his point, and I know hes a pretty good troll, but that whole thing cost people MONEY.  Not me... I did no buying and selling in relation to that.  And if you were in on the joke, you could use it to make money from the rubes who bought the rumor.  But yeah... it was a bit past the line of appropriate in my humble opinion.

He used to say something along the lines of "Don't hold Monero, use it".

He was basically trying to deny the number go up appeal of crypto investment, and argue that the main focus of Monero is it's usability, not it's potential for Lambos.  This was during the whole ICO surge and I think in some ways he was tying to differentiate XMR from all the thousands of projects who's seeming point was to enrich the developers/scammers.

I remember he was criticized for this position being a sort of reverse psychology play by some twitter personality who I think is a pretty big jerk.  But the point is certainly reasonable in a way.  And so is the saying.

IIRC he really started with that when there was an agenda push to cut the emission by half because some of the original investors felt they we not profiting fast enough.

Ah... interesting.  I don't remember that particular drama, even though I was here for it.

Oh, Risto.  What an odd duck.  Both a visionary and a skeezball scammer.
