Gateways are the businesses that link the Ripple Consensus Ledger to the rest of the world. An existing online financial institution can expand to act as a gateway in the the Ripple Consensus Ledger (RCL). By becoming a Ripple gateway, a financial services business can gain several advantages:

    By enabling its customers to send and receive value in the Ripple Consensus Ledger, the business increases its value proposition to customers.
    By accepting payments from the Ripple Consensus Ledger, the business increases the number of ways that customers can fund accounts at its business, even internationally.
    The business can use Ripple-related services as a new source of revenue.

Ripple Gateways Explained

Gateways are businesses that provide a way for money and other forms of value to move in and out of the Ripple Consensus Ledger. There are three major models that gateways can follow, with different purposes and modes of operation.

    An Issuing Gateway receives money (or other assets of value) outside of Ripple, and creates issuances in the Ripple Consensus Ledger. This provides a direct way for customers to get money in and out of the RCL. All currencies in the Ripple Consensus Ledger, except for XRP, take the form of issuances tied to a specific issuing gateway.
    A Private Exchange holds XRP and lets its customers buy and sell that XRP in its own system. Most cryptocurrencies rely on private exchanges to provide a market for the cryptocurrency, but the Ripple Consensus Ledger has a currency exchange built into the protocol itself.
    Merchants accept payment within the Ripple Consensus Ledger in exchange for goods and services in the outside world. Currently, Ripple does not have widespread support for merchant operations.

maybe this is the next use case to target for widespread XRP adoption, amongst busineses online and offline that will allow customers to spend XRP on goods and services.

My business, www.chainstoreleads.com, accepts XRP. I don't use coinpayments though, I use a wordpress plugin instead that locks the price of ripple for 10 minutes.

@boby-1 you don't have to be a chart expert to see what it is doing. It is doing the EXACT same as BTC at the moment. Put the charts side by side and you will see. BTC will go up and down by a few hundred over and over again (like it has been) for a while yet before a break over $3k. This means XRP will do the same.

I don't know why people cant face the fact that no matter what news they are throwing at it for the past few months it has done NOTHING. The guys on here have been wrong over and over again. and all they can do is brag about being early adopters, great for you, others aren't so don't get them to waste their money.

And they want you to do something proactive to make the coin do well, WTF lol So the coin cant make its own moves it relies on the hype train, yeh that is the sign of a strong coin lol Losing the Trollbox on Bitrex was the worst thing that could happen for XRp, the hypers there would cry how the coin was going to the moon when it would move half a cent lol maybe that's why xrp is just riding BTC's coat tails.

I see XRP as a long-term coin that will eventually and probably slowly turn into a monster. The potential upside is YUGE. Of course they can fail. No investment is 100%.
But if you're looking for a quick money maker, look elsewhere. Plenty of other options. XRP just showed it's strength during the last cpl corrections. I will be investing more, knowing that in five or maybe even ten years, there's a vg chance I'll make a killing on this.

When I bough XRP, I was expecting 0.15c by the EOY, Q1 2018 and that was top IMHO! Now its 0.25c, fuck, I am so unhappy   Some times go up to 0.30

XRP can do at least x1.5 - xN this year from 0.25c that we have now.

I bought 20.000 xrp for the prices of 0.006 and 0.05. I already sold a bit but still have 16.000. I already made a few thousands profit but I am planning to hold it for another year or two, and I am hoping it will reach a value of $3-5. Then it would be a huge profit.
It gained with thousands of % over the last few months and I am hoping a value of $1 for the end of the year.

i dont see it being this cheap much longer, alot going to happen with XRP this month and in aug BOE will let us know if they are joining the Ripple network(im sure they are)

2months is nothing if you want serious profits...
i bought in early march, (early adopters took on more risk as less was known about XRP)...
i waited 2months i got gd profits so far, if i wait 2yrs ill have mega profits,
you bought in may on a correction/dip/sideways and many early adopters were taking profits...but thats coming to an end now and the next wave will begin.
 
btc...anyone who bought anytime in the past and waited 2months wouldnt see a huge return...they did when they waited 2yrs

well i think those who have same issue with you is now selling and trying to recover with some other alts but if i were in your part i will still hold
and even if its take some time for sure it will be bouncing back just like other crypto coins that playing around.
