in a core wallet, you would go into the debug console, and type importprivkey privatekeyhere

what is the best and safest way to store my xvg coins for long term offline ? i see there is some trouble with the xvg wallet?
there's no trouble with the wallet, it just takes a while to sync 3 years of a blockchain. i would suggest using the core wallet for the platform you have,
and keeping your coins there. you can download the chain to make it sync faster, from vergecurrency.de or cryptochainer.com

this month is when is when it is released for bitcoin, so shortly after that. it's not going to be secret or anything, it will be worked on in our github.
