Not a fear-mongering campaign, people lost their BTC to Limitless, a POS scammer who was left to spread his trojan on here!!! https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2109275

care to link to limitless's virus post, and not just a post of you calling him out?

Looking at the transactions on the blockchain, I noticed all of the addresses that sent bitcoin to 1RPrtamTACe1TcqkX2FmWVtRzmQJ6CfRx received funds right before they were "stolen". Ofc, I haven't checked all of them, but will check a few more to be sure.

Had unencrypted wallet, no coins stolen, got YACoin client since day one. I think nothing bad is happening, but I encrypted my wallet just to be safe.

So we have:

* 1 stolen forum account.
* 1 account that suddenly lost their command of English grammar.
* 1 jr account that used to advertise a scam service.
* 1 account that says now that they were just repeating what they heard.
* 1 account that says they didn't lose anything, but they detected the client accessed the wallet (duh)

Very weird  Undecided I don't really understand what has happened. Did he steal my password? My browser session? Is he watching me type this now??  Angry

His probably w@nking at you, some weird bloke guaranteed so don't show more than you are ready to  Grin

ooooo exciting!

With that and now the windows client being the only one with a virus

Us linuxers had to compile from source so i guess we're all good.
As usual Wink

Pretty much from the start YAcoin has been LINUXcoin, seems the dev has a OS of choice and anyone who shares it was able to truly reap the benefits from being a early adopter.

Windows instructions: https://github.com/pocopoco/yacoin/blob/master/doc/build-msw.txt

Linux instructions: https://github.com/pocopoco/yacoin/blob/master/doc/build-unix.txt

Where do you see any favoritism?

You could even do "practice builds" few days ago to make sure you had everything u needed once the real genesis block is added and announced.

Now if u say YAC is not very n00b friendly... then thats another story...

I think bitcoin probably did not have a GUI for quite some time...

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-yacoin-superfun-premine-thread-200345

TLDR - windows compiler gave about 10-20% the output of the linux one on release, pretty huge discrepency during the "early adopter" mining phase of a coin.  Of course those who used linux and got thousands of coins that night have no complaints(unless they have any empathy in them like tacotime).  With that and now the windows client being the only one with a virus it's clear that YAcoin is LINUXcoin.

SO was one of the minerds infected or not? And if yes, which one?

Most probably not. If it was the alternate forum would crash from all stolen wallets and not had few threads by same group of people who suddenly disappeared after they realized fud didn't work.

Confirmed it's minerd:

that's not confirmation at all... official pooler's cpuminer has some 35/45 virus warnings in virus total and it's clean and used by thousands and thousands.

I have 3 or 4 other builds of minerd. This is the one I downloaded from the yacoin thread....

All minerds including they very original one are full of viruses based on virus checking tools... so the only confirmation would be the network caught not the false positives from virus tools. These yac miners haDDDd been announced in a wild definitely, I've installed them only on my vps'es from that very reason but as with anything else there's still no proof they're bad guys.

I understand what you're saying but 3 different builds of minerd on my desktop are okay.

Warning possible keylogger or sensitive data extraction please reinstall your OS if you have already lost some bitcoins
I've dealt with hdclover on the 9.5.13 selling him YACs. He was desperate to get more.

Anyhow I have checked the BTC address he sent my payment from and there is nothing missing. So either hdclover had a different wallet.dat corrupted or did not lose anything.

Anything else, make your own conclusions. And feel free to repost that to the other posts he did.

Ikarus    Win32.BitCoinMiner

also many shows themida
and

VIPRE    Backdoor.Win32.Ircbot.gen (v)

The original cpu miner may show up in virustotal as bitcoin miner etc as its being distributed in huge quantity via botnets for hidden mining, this doesnt mean the original exe is a virus or anything.

The suspect exe above, could be the culprit for wallets being taken.

That's a strong point: Minerd IS a virus for many antivirus software (why? does "Botnet" say you something?) It's been like that long ago before Yacoin come out..

(This doesn't mean Yacoin client/miner people downloaded on "hackmyass.iwillbetoorich.com" is safe)

I don't have any Royals but don't want to bash it, it's alt as alt, copycat as all others, some on smaller, some on bigger scale.. it's people who are holding it... it's same with pretty much each other coin, lot of people somehow think that coin they hold will somehoww be worth 10$/piece if they talk shit about other one, lol... low lifes
