Ugly move from Yahoo: "Bitcoin is to the crypto market what Netscape was to search engines in the early days of the Internet. There’s a need for a better solution, and the market is responding."

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/forget-bitcoin-crypto-assets-154341517.html

I think we're gonna see a huge BTC rise in the coming months, it's the calm before the storm. HODL!

Articles having titles like this is the only way for them to attract reader/users to their site. Click bait in other words. You see, as soon as people see something negative, they tend to click it. Like you. You just shared this article because of the title. Most people are attracted towards negative news. There are bitcoin haters (due to being ignorant) and when they see something like this, they start sharing and spreading the news. The mainstream media has always been like this. Ignore them and keep holding!

Yahoo is just trying to distract and engage readers with heady news. The ones attracted are the newcomers who don't have a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency market.
Maybe they are right in the short term about the cryptocurrencies they are reporting because currently, the BTC.D domain is falling.
Here we know Bitcoin is king and it is impossible to ignore Bitcoin when it comes to portfolios.

Let's just ignore the negative thought about bitcoin from a different company, we should not give them time arguing with them because if they don't want to believe then they will not listen to anyone, once a person or a group has a stand on something then it is really hard for them to pursue on something that contradicts their stand. Despite those negative things bitcoin is still at the top.

bitcoin was not simillar to netscape but btc was simillar to yahoo because even if altcoins offer better solutions btc is still there alive .
we have google mails but yahoo didnt leave us . yahoo was still functional and useful .
im not sure if netscape is now obsolete but its memory will remain to us because without it , there will be no modern search engines like yahoo , bing and google search  . same with btc because if no btc there will be no altcoin

That's indeed not fair to Bitcoin. While Bitcoin is new, it's already obvious how different it's from Netscape. Netscape started operating in 1994, had its best time in 1999, and by 2003 according to Wikipedia,
Quote
Most of the programmers were laid-off, and the Netscape logo was removed from the building.
So in 9 years from its creation, it was already a big mess, and it was obvious that it was dying. It's been 12 years for Bitcoin already, and it's as strong, expensive and popular as ever. There's up to date no coin that poses even a serious threat to BTC dominance, whereas Netscape started losing to Internet Explorer in 1998 already.
In any case, it's just an opinion by the finance guy who wrote this article, and I think he just used these intro paragraphs about Bitcoin as an attention grabber.

That's like just a way for yahoo to improve view to their article, you know recently many medias are also making such clickbait article just for the views because crypto is so hot right now.
Just ignore this article really, I don't even think yahoo was intended to fud bitcoin anyway since i'm pretty sure such article isn't coordinated and published because the higher ups of yahoo intended but because journalist opinion.
not to mention this article created without any deep knowledge regarding the market condition seeing that he's recommending ltc over btc lol.

Oh boring have seen this headline in the LAST rally with ICOs. Bitcoin is the netscape of browsers because IE was much better right? And even articles were saying BTC was the Myspace of social media because Facebook is so popular.

I still use Mozilla software today, which, by the way, was founded by Netscape.

Still alive. Still the best.

Not just an ugly move, but a bold move as well.
I don't feel secured anyway in their mail services.
How funny they're saying that there are more than worth of other crypto to be followed for "practicality of decentralized finance", while Bitcoin already solves that.

Sounds like paid advertising disguised as article. But it's funny the another criticize Bitcoin, while recommending Litecoin, where it's technology/feature is very similar with Bitcoin.

It's not comparison but analogy in my opinion since Netscape is the first famous browser and Bitcoin being the first of its kind, I think that that analogy is the reason why they believe that bitcoin is going to be obscure in the long run which isn't true because I think Netscape didn't last a decade.

You can call it a comparison or analogy or whatever you like but it doesn't change the fact that it's not a valid comparison. The TCP/IP protocol is a far fairer comparison than comparing Bitcoin to Netscape.

why should we forget about bitcoin when btc is at the center of the crypto market. Even stranger, they recommend coins like UNI, LTC and LINK which are far from the current rumors and hype. and they left BNB, when the smart chain was rated better than ethereum. when talking about profitable coins, BNB should also be included because it is one of the potentially profitable coins.

Jack of all trades 💯
Netscape was in the early days of the internet the most popular browser. Other companies released their own versions (like Internet Explorer) and Netscape started losing ground until it was eventually completely abandoned. Since bitcoin is the oldest cryptocurrency, he believes the coin will lose its market share because newer, faster, and less costly coins already exist. However, the market plays by its own rules, and even though bitcoin isn't the fastest and cheapest coin to transfer value with, it is the safest and most decentralized one. Investors trust bitcoin more than any other crypto, so the opinion of the author makes no difference.

Yeap, hence why I said that the journalists are simply ignorant. Bitcoin is always being compared to early iterations of certain platforms/software; despite Bitcoin being not just any kind of software, as it's a protocol. It's quite a significant difference.

They are ignorant because they don't know much information about bitcoin also they are one sided and always think about negatively on bitcoin expect something like this comparissons, and bitcoin alwats show dominance thru out years. I wonder how far we can go with this and let see if there are still people will think negatively if we see more huge upwarde and adoption.

We should focus on bitcoin, but we also need to focus on altcoin, especially when the altcoin season will come again. Bitcoin and altcoin will make another ATH and that will depend on us how we can use that moment to make as much profit as possible. Besides UNI, LTC, and LINK, I believe many more coins will increase in the altcoin season and hopefully, one or more of our coins will be the next coins that will increase. You should search for the other coins and start to buy if you want.

I think what the article actually tries to say is that if you invest in BTC NOW, you will not make that much.
While other cryptos will now see same growth as BTC has made over the past few years.
To some extent this is true also. There are Alt coins that have given 1000x returns in just few months from their inception.
Anyway, we have seen all the odds against BTC yet it has flourished. No Yahoo and Google can change this.

I really wouldn't go as far as saying that they "hate" Bitcoin, it's just that there are really A LOT of ignorant so called "journalists" out there unfortunately. The same reason how there are a crap ton of non-factual articles getting spread out across the internet concerning Bitcoin's negative environmental effects.
I haven't read the article, and I don't want to give it another click, but I understand what the author was trying to say because he used Netscape for comparison.

They are just trying to be an investment-oriented agency by offering 3 quality altcoins: UNI, LINK and LTC. Those cryptocurrencies have increased in value as the current market cap is flowing to altcoins.
There will come a day when they will have to change their opinion and perceive the value of Bitcoin.
This article is true now, but next year it will no longer be true. Because if one day Bitcoin goes into a downtrend, the above altcoins will drop dramatically (in my experience in a downtrend).

I have no plan in selling My Bitcoin even when the price fell down like what happens now and also i know that Bitcoin is not yet done , Look how this struggles but stays strong in 50k level and trying also to break 60k again yesterday, no wonder how much is the next ATH of bitcoin in the next days?
Yahoo new was up until yesterday owned by Verizon. The sold at a massive loss to some financial company.
Bad for them , but Good for crypto.

Actually, the article writer is just using this strategy in order to get the attention of the readers that is why Bitcoin is being portrayed as somewhat a little negative here. And for me that is just fine. This is just the opinion of the writer and I don't think he is credible enough to be pronouncing something good or bad on an asset that has had so many colorful experiences in the past, right now and would be in the future. Or maybe this is because there is somewhat a consensus that with the rise of Ethereum right now the future of Bitcoin maybe jeopardized -- which is of course something that may or may not really be true. We can all believe whatever we want to believe here in this industry because once we are proven wrong it can just mean that we are humans after all.
