I'd like to agree with your take on the situation.  Makes no difference to me. Unfortunately, that is not the way this is shaping up.  Apparently the FBI has been unresponsive to the requests for information, so now NSA sources have been tapped.

House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) announced on Wednesday that he had learned that members of President Donald Trump’s transition team had been under surveillance by the Obama administration, that individual names had been “unmasked” by the intelligence community, and that those names had been leaked to the media.

Nunes’s information — which he said he would deliver to the White House later — vindicates the bulk of Trump’s claims earlier this month.

Nunes said that while there was no direct “wiretap” by President Barack Obama of Trump Tower, there was indeed surveillance — perhaps collected incidentally — of people close to Trump, possibly including Trump himself.

Snowden is still in possession of a lot of classified information. He has given some leftover information to the Russians, but he hasn't passed the most important set of information to anyone.

The country is already fucked up and when a country takes a position to destroy many countries and make a war zone around the world you are doomed to get that back at a later time and now it is time that you get back what you owe in the form of Trump and it is not a surprise that they are prying on privacy as they do not have any regard for privacy.

Oh wait, but not only was it BEFORE Trump decided to run for president, but also this is about Russians and their increasingly numerous ties to Trump.  One could almost envision people seeing a pattern here.  One too many such coincidences could even be deemed suspicious.

It was the NSA spying on Merkel, but it could well be one of the others doing the domestic surveillance.  The latest stuff from Comey not only seems to rule out the FBI, but also raises further questions about Russian ties with someone in Trump's camp.



I'm saying it wouldn't surprise me if one of the agencies did.  And with clearly Trump being a potential threat to security (I mean, come on, surely you see it, right?), it would make sense if someone was looking into him.  And yes, they can do anything without waiting for one individual's approval.  Bare in mind that there isn't enough time in the day for one person to give the okay on everything the NSA does, particularly if that person also has a country to run in the meantime.  The sheer scale of harvesting is most likely beyond the comprehension of a single person.

So you are agreeing that the NSA wiretapped Trump, and tens of thousands of other leaders. But then, who is behind the NSA? Can they do any such measure without Obama's approval?

No, the NSA operates in parallel, and unrelated to, CIA/FBI/Whitehouse judicial requests for wiretapping.

Or, far more likely, the NSA have always been intercepting communications from most, if not all, world leaders and any other prominent ministers that catch their eye.  This sort of thing has been going on for decades and they would have been doing it regardless of who was president.  If they're still spying on Merkel now, does that mean your manic messiah Trump personally ordered it?  Of course it doesn't.  It's the NSA, you buffoons, it's what they do.  Obama didn't "order" shit.  Your surveillance agencies are a law unto themselves and do whatever they damn well please.  Surely you can't be naive enough to think they actually wait for an order to start harvesting intel?  It's constant, unrelenting, 24/7.  They gather it before they even know what it is, let alone before they decide if they actually need it or not.

It wouldn't surprise me if one of your agencies monitored every candidate in every US election.  Not just delicate little snowflake Trump, but Obama as well.  All of them.  In what conceivable fantasy scenario would they not do some vetting before handing over the nuclear launch codes?  Maybe you clowns are foolish enough to blindly trust your new satsuma saviour, but I personally hope someone was doing their homework on him to make sure he isn't a complete psychopath.

Trump has once again lied to America. He has no concrete evidence of wiretapping. If he was watched, he would have won the election. I am sure that if not him, then all his surroundings blurred ties to Putin.

Sorry, I have no faith in the so called "Joint select committee". Will they release the list of all the individuals, whose phone calls were wiretapped by the Obama administration? If they do that, then I will agree with you.

Joint select committee also just came out and said that they have absolutely no evidence of any agency, repeat, any agency, performing surveillance on Trump Towers. So, given the jig is finally up (smokescreens dissipate eventually), we finally get a retraction from the White House. I mean, they have been walking the allegation back for the last two weeks (it's been a tough week for Spicer, but he kept it together for the most part). So, now that both the White House and a bipartisan investigative panel have said there was no wiretapping, what-the-fuck-so-ever, what are your thoughts?
