You all forgot to mention Binance for altcoin exchange. It has a low fees (0.10% or 0.05%) and supports many pairs of coins.

So I think some of this has already been said, but here's my limited experience:

Polo: was great to start, low fees, they margin trading and lending for like 15 coins. But I started to notice more and more certain coins being frozen for "maintenance" whenever the price would spike. Made me feel like they were always on the edge of not having enough funds to pay out. I think they really ride the line.

Bittrex: was great when I started here a coulple months ago. A ton of coins. I like the interface. Problems are that the minimum order is like 5x higher than at polo (50000sat), they have started freezing coins more often, they de-list in a way that may be slightly suspect, and they added a really low withdraw limit for people who haven't verified identity. Also, the fees seem kinda high, comparatively.

Kucoin: this one interests me. I trade like $20 worth of coin here and haven't tried to withdraw, so I have no idea if they're even legit at all, but I like the weird smattering of coins and they have a token for their exchange (KCS), so if you hold the token, you get dividends of a certain percentage of all the coins traded that day. More KCS = more daily income. It's a tempting idea, but with the current volume, it takes like $100 in kcs to get $.01 daily.
I think WCX is basically the same idea, except they only trade the main players (BTC, ETH, maybe more?) and I also can't get an invite there. It's on a limited invite basis at the moment.

Hope that helps.

(If anyone decides to try out kucoin, I'd appreciate you using my invite code. I'd post it here, but don't want people to think I'm spamming. I have the link in the Website field of my profile. I hope this little tag is kosher.)

I prefer on Bittrex and then Poloniex after that
And also right now, bittrex is very strongly to keep their clients account safe, recommend for 2FA feature and IP Change Detect each time we try to login

The second half of 2017 was a bad time for poloniex users. DDos attacks, horrible support, chatbox disappeared, scam accusations, probably manual generated withdraws instead of automatic and issues at lending. Now seems to get better. Hope so, because Polo was for me with its features the best before.

The major difference between Poloniex and Kraken is that Kraken allows users to deposit, withdrawal, and trade fiat currencies (USD, EUR, etc.), while Poloniex only trades in cryptocurrencies.

Aside from this, Poloniex (70+) offers far more cryptocurrencies to trade than Kraken (~17) does.

One thing to note is that, while all cryptocurrency exchanges seem to have issues with customer support, there's been many complaints of Poloniex taking weeks or even months to answer support tickets.

You can see a more in depth comparison here: https://coincentral.com/poloniex-vs-kraken/

Poloniex: this is one of my favorite altcoin exchange, they listed a lot coin, offer pretty big volume, plus you can invest thru their lending platform. Sadly recently they got so many complaints, hope they will solve it, honestly I'm not use their service recently because I break from trading activity for a while.

Bittrex: same as poloniex it's my favorite exchange to trade altcoin, their volume and coin listed is big too. The point plus is I like their interface, although it's need load pretty much motion so speed page is pretty slow compared to poloniex. Also their platform makes me freely to trade.

Kraken: never use them.

Cryptopia & Novaexchange: this is the place where you can trade a coin that not really famous but you can still get profit thru arbitration, because their have pretty big price gaps. So far not meet any problem yet.

Bittrex - Never had problems.  Mostly used them for selling alts to BTC although using them a little more for trading now because I left Polo (see below).  I have never had to contact bittrex support so I can't comment about it. UI could be better but it's definitely usable.

Polo - I took everything out.  Too many red flags.  Personally I only had problems with one single withdrawal being held up for about 24 hours.  All the rest of my withdrawals went smoothly.  It took me more than a week to get everything out since I was completely unverified.  The interface was always the most usable of all of the exchanges but the lag was killing it recently and then the endless stream of complaints about withdrawals just made me leery so I bailed.  This had been the exchange I used the most for the past year or two.

Kraken - I have had a couple levels of verification at kraken for a long time so this is where I am doing the majority of my trading.  Their UI completely sucked for a long time so even though I was verified a while back I didn't use it much.  The trading UI is improved but still needs a lot of work.  You can't even get an available funds balance so you have to go back and look at your own open orders (or see what you have available to withdrawal) to find out what you have available to put on new trades.  That's pretty fucking sad.  But even so they seem a lot more reliable than polo at the moment.  Kraken support has been moderately responsive to me.  They usually send you a generic response pretty soon (a few days) saying they have your ticket, they are busy, blah, blah, and then give you an actual response a week or so later.  That's not great, but ok for my issues so far.  I have never done fiat deposit or withdrawal and I gather that the majority of the issues with kraken are around that and around the time it takes for verification.  Since I was verified a long while back that part was never a problem for me.  I have had zero issues with deposits or withdrawals in crypto.

Kraken is fine for the BTC/EUR trading pair. But it's not great for alts because the volume is too small.

I have withdrawn euros, using SEPA into a British bank account (it converts automatically to pounds) and it works really well. If you withdraw in the evening, it's in your bank account the next morning by noon.

Poloniex - Low Transaction fee. High volume of coins. Fast Withdraw and Deposit
Bittrex - Low Transaction fee but not as low like in poloniex. High Volume of coins. Many coins and token listed. best wallet i think
Kraken - I dont know. i didn't use this one

but for me the more stable wallet is poloniex.

It appears Polo screwed their Cloudflare settings again. Today I'm getting rate limit and temporarily banned errors quite often. Even if I don't touched the page for an hour. Perhaps it's really time to move partially of maybe fully somewhere else :/.

You may find more altcoins at bittrex, but if we make a comparison for interface you will see Poloniex is more useful. If you want to make technical analysis, there is more chart on bittrex

I had used poloniex 3 or 4 times to purchase blackcoins. I was able to immediately withdraw coins to my wallet from poloniex and I didn't find any difficulty by using them. But I read somewhere that there are problems regarding ethereum withdrawals. But so far my experience with them was good. You use Kraken and see. I have heard many positive reviews about kraken from my friends.

[...] Bitttrex was good something happen and they just lose trust of users [...]

Care to elaborate on that one? I'm planning to give it a go to day trading, and my best bet is Bittrex since they have a broader range of alts also.

Bittrix has been one of the most stable ones out there, what's the problem you say "no trust" why? I have never ever had 1 problem with Bittrex

I would agree with you. Though Polo has a better UI, it lacks everything else.

I saw your article about traveling on Steemit and I was impressed. I am thinking of doing the same, but I guess I need little bit more capital. Where else have you been, and for how many months/years are u doing this ?

I think they are referring to the lack of support that have been reported to this forum.

If u haven't had any problems then perhaps you want to weigh in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=463202.620
Did u ever need help from support, how's ur experience?

I want to ask everyone for their personal experiences in Bittrex, Poloniex and Kraken. I have heard many isolated incidents about one of those exchanges but I want to hear it from you for the benefit of the newbies who are looking for a safe and dependable altcoin exchange.

Please post your favorite exchange and give your rating from 1 to 5.

But also feel free to add other exchanges you have had experience with.
1. Bittrex is okay with volume, ive used them.
2. Polo is not that good since they limit your withdrawals now unless you send personal info....
3. Never used Krak.
