Think for yourself
in the example:

eg: cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x

There is a .0 at the end of the address.  What is this for?  I am assuming I should just use my address for the username without a .0

Yes, the .0, .1,... are for separate workers for the same bitcoin address/user.

Can I mine with a Block Erupter?  I mean it, seriously. Can one BE get me 'in the door' like a dollar lottery ticket?
The odds..I know. But would it work?

yes

In keeping with maintaining as much anonymity as the miner may desire, I won't say how much his or her hashrate was (no I don't know who they are).

According to http://solo.ckpool.org/users/174yX8zgevuCtcGjKnhEVEHXVEYPDJEC3C, it's currently ~35.5T with 54 workers.

Wink I knew someone would figure the obvious way to get that much out of it. I can make some assumptions based on when people join the pool on this forum thread and how much hashrate appears on the pool who they are but generally speaking I don't know whose hashrate is whose.

I would assume that you are a trusted person on the forum though.  Creator of cgminer, linux contributor, and you have your own wiki page...

So, may I ask, Kano, how did you find the link to the found block in blockchain?

I'm still kind of a newb... Huh

I have a popup that tells me when 3 pools find blocks.
My pool (of course), Con's solo and hashmine - my popup is generic for all 3 so I know about all 3.
It's simply a check of the coinbase txn for the text ckpool
When I don't see my pool wallet txn notify shortly after the popup, I know it's not my pool and then simply look at blockchain

However, as Gws24 said, just checking that address (Con's donation from the solo pool) will see the blocks ... once you know a block was found Smiley
lol, actually wanted to edit my post saying that you and con probably had some sort of alarm set for a block. Guess I was right Cheesy

And for my method knowing that a block is found: Because I'm mining here I check the pool's address once a day to see if a block has been found. Not as fast of a notification as your pop-up but it works. And ofcourse this thread usually mentions it as well.

Congratulations to 174yX8zgevuCtcGjKnhEVEHXVEYPDJEC3C !

Looking through the logs the pool was about 80TH at the time when this miner found the block. In keeping with maintaining as much anonymity as the miner may desire, I won't say how much his or her hashrate was (no I don't know who they are).

I might also mention it was a nice fat block at 927kb with >0.2BTC in transaction fees

Keep on mining  Grin

Using some expensive heaters
Mining address for the pool is known https://blockchain.info/address/1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ see the opening post of this thread. From there you can follow the transaction and then get to the block.

Thanks so much, guys!
Thanks also to Con for his awesome work.
So, if someone wants to tip Con, they just send to same address, I guess?
