Thank you for answering the question. Just to make sure I understand. Even though it says "best share" =0
My miner is still submitting shares? http://solo.ckpool.org/users/1HUs9na6NgY85DXxi4dXLGQu9ZDBayMde3
I should be around 2.4TH so as long as my reported speed by looking at the link above is close, then everything is working correctly other than I have no idea what my best share is?
That is correct.

Hoping you can help. I have a few workers on your pool. The
Antminer s1's are having no issues. However the Antminer C1's do no report "best share"

When I use them on another solo mining pool they report the best share however on your pool they do not.

Personally I would rather use your pool as I like it better, but I would like to be able to see my best shares so I can know how close I come to finding a block. A big fat 0 under best share is kinda disheartening even though as far as I can tell it is reporting shares.

That's just an S1 driver design issue. It happens when the diff is exactly a power of two and is harmless and cosmetic only but of course doesn't fix your issue.

Could that #xnsub option be added to ckproxy, or does it have to be supported by every cgminer in every ant?

Doesnt really understand the meaning of that option but it seems to do its work, but when i dont have physical access to every miner it could help if ckproxy could connect with that option enabled to pool.

Anyway thanks for the good proxy!
You've posted on the solo ckpool thread

This is the thread for the ckpool/ckproxy code:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ckpool-open-source-poolproxypassthroughredirectorlibrary-in-c-for-linux-790323

But to answer your question, I have no interest in adding support for that extension designed to help one rental/coin switching service in either cgminer or ckpool.

Again congrats to 174yX8! Also nice how after both blocks he tips ck 0.5 BTC
Unfortunately that didn't happen on the second block by the way (not that I was expecting it).
Uhhhh, As far as I can see it did  Huh

Shit a brick so he did! I was looking for it back at the solo generation address for some reason (not all wallets are readily accessible to check).

if I recall rightly (i may be wrong here), that miner had rented some of my hashes (sent me a screenshot - hence i recall the mining address) - it was his birthday and he wanted to find a block mining solo - as he felt lucky. i feel good for him.  Smiley

@Kano: i imagen a dice with 40 Billion sides, but a good picture that will be.
 Grin Grin Grin Grin

@CK: Yeah, twice the luck is great, makes me think of a flash never hit twice the same position
(exept in one movie)....

I try it, got nothing to loose then, it was just considering about how to do it.

The pool is great!
It only take 10-15min. until my poor little Ant reduce diff. is there a adjusting i can do to directly reduce the diff? i.e. --suggest-diff xx, will that help?

Linux since 1997 RedHat 4
One simple accurate comparison is to consider it is a dice with ~40billion sides.
You just keep rolling it until you get the golden value of "1" Smiley
That can occur at any time, but of course the average expected is once every ~40billion rolls.

The internal details is that each roll is a work item with an expected 1 diff result, that you send to the miner and on average once every ~40billion 1diff work items sent to your miners, you'll get a 40billion diff result that is a block.

(Of course that number ~40billion is the 'current' network difficulty)

well, yes, that was what i am thinking.
It might be i switch the miner on one morning and BANG solved one Block without having
much GH/s or long time.
It is a statistic value wich makes the calculation of time and GH/s.
The other factor is the "blind chicken" factor named Luck  Grin if i will be that one or not.

When i first heard of Bitcoin mining i thought it is a purley math by calculating in cryptography thing.
That sound intresting to me and attracted me to look after it.

Now it is pointed out to be as DrHaribo's description i also found a couple of weeks ago.
The Lottery ticket handout.

Anyway it is now clear and thank all for clearing this up.

Not expert but guess what am saying is correct
You mine and you sent results in a small really small period of time(must be around 10mins)
most pools are giving the profits in PPLNS system so its the last shares on each block that count
With solo mining its diferent and as ckolivas said either you mine or not
a battery would help increasing the total uptime of the miner nothing else
its like if you mine with 100 gh for a day or 200 for 12hours
if you read previous post 130th need two weeks to find a block
with 100ghs  DO YOU FEEL LUCKY then go for it.

Thank you for the answer.
Background is: I want to automate my mining in spring to get the power from the Solar array.
But if i had to secure that the mining process must be in order to not start from zero all the time
i had to add some battery system wich is gone to be expensiv.
So, i don't need it.

Hello CK,
sorry for asking you that at first, i am confused about the answers i found in the Forum.
If i switch my miner off in the evening and on in the morning, will it affect my chance to get a block solved,
apart from the time the miner is not working?
Not at all. There is no such thing as progress with work in mining. You're either mining or you're not.

It seems that my miners are unable to reach your pool.

Is there something wrong with the solo pool or is it just me?

It's just you.

Hmmmn, my Bitfury does not seem to like your pool Sad
The Antminer is mining fine.

What could be the issue with the Bitfury?
