As others mentioned above, you still will struggle to get people interested as you are a new user.

Even with Willi managing the mining address, you are still in control of the original funds that would be used to pay for the rentals.

And if there is that much interest where a 2nd group is needed, I'm sure willi can run it and monitor it alongside the main group it has no restrictions where he can't run multiple groups.

I'm not saying that you are a fraud or insulting you, but a new account with such determination to run another group does smell very fishy and I probably am not the only one to think so.

Anyways good luck, if others are willing to risk I guess you will manage to form a group.. time will tell

If you are looking for an alternative while demand is high, please check this out:

Bitcoin Block Party || Group Run A --> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-block-party-group-run-a-5378355

I messaged Willi before starting this.  He is not opposed to someone running another Block Party, but please be clear: this is not sponsored by Willi.

CK, if you don't want me to post this here, please delete with my apologies.

Nothing against you kaulfuss, but you are  a relativ new user to this forum and it seem's that you are just get registered for joining willis group buys.
So I have to point out that for any user, who now wants to join kaulfuss group buy, will be at high risk of loosing the btc eigther on a "new" user or bad luck in the run itself.
I would recomend any of you to use a "well known" user doing group buys, where the trust is a bit higher and it is unlikly to loose your btc before the run even starts.

No worries.  I understand.  Yes, there is always risk involved with a group buy.  I'm not sure if there is a way to check on this information, but I was a registed user before but had to reregister since I hadn't posted before.  Again, though, I do understand the caution.

UPDATE:
Since this is an early run, and I am a fairly new user, Willi has volunteered to provide a mining address.  The Group Run Wallet Address above will not change, but if we hit a block, the reward will go to Willi's address.  This way an established user can oversee that portion.  Just a reminder, though, this is a risky endeavor, and we may not hit a block.  Thanks, Willi.

REMINDER:

According to the problems of the user banche_plus, I did setup a passthrough to solo.ckpool.org
on my server, located in germany, and if someone got problems of connecting to the pool from
his country, he can try this:
stratum+tcp://rfpool.org:3334
Your setup is like at solo.ckpool only the URL has to change to the passthrough.
This get relayed to solo.ckpool.org:3333 and you can check your data on solo like normal.

Maintanace coming soon:
on 27.12.2021 18:00 UTC I will upgrade the server to a the actual debian.
All miner on the paththrough are advised to have a failover configured, so no loss in shares ocure for them.
As I don't know how long it will take in the end to setup all new options I had planed, a minimum of ~2-3 hours downtime has to be expected.
If something went wrong, or there is a delay, I will post it in this thread if needet.

mikeywith thanks for your feedback and yes i split the hashpower over all marketplaces from nicehash 6-8 Orders (i think)
the group member decide to fire 500 phs in 24h so we burn 2,5 BTC in 18-24h, depend on the price grows with our rentals
yes the retarget of the diff in ~3 days i have in my eyes, but it looks like only a drop of ~1% (https://www.bitrawr.com/difficulty-estimator)

will be an interesting thing and i am looking forward to it
but today i start first a normal 30phs rental in the next minutes...

[1] How much better is a 24-hour marathon than a 15-day?

With the same hashrate, obviously, 15 days would yield more blocks if you are talking about splitting the 500ph over 15 days by doing 33.33PH a day then there is no difference as far your chances of hitting a block, 100PH in 12 hours is also just the same, the only factor that would change the probability of finding blocks is if a difficulty change happens during the rental in which can make longer periods and lower hashrate more effective if the change is negative, but the difficulty very rarely drop anyway.

The other factor is the supply and demand, when you place a large order that needs to be filled in a short period of time, you could cause a price increase, and if someone is willing to bid higher it means you will end up getting fewer shares than what you anticipated.

What I expect willi to do is to wait 3 more days before firing that mega order since we are expecting a difficulty drop, also try to split the order into smaller batches between asicboost and non-asicboost and probably spread the duration over 5 days if possible since the average total hashrate available on NH is about 700PH combined, by placing a fixed order at 500PH can easily trigger price increase.

Maintenance works have been completed without incident. You may fire when ready. Smiley

Thanks for the info -ck

@-ck can you please confirm after the maintenance  work your pool is checked and ready for a big rental? We plan a 500 PHs rental for rearly 24h and i would only start if i have your ok from pool side.
[1] How much better is a 24-hour marathon than a 15-day?
[2] Do you enter the game on a private basis or can anyone join?

In that case, let me ask you what is the cost of the entry fee ... Since, as far as I understand, the leased capacity is 15 times more than usual.

I may not be attentive, but I just did not see any mention of a new round.
Here you can follow us with the 500 PHs rental
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/groupbuy-solo-mining-blockparty-2021-megarun-1-5377859

At the moment it is a closed round and i organice the run only, not play it selfe (but maybe in the next mega run, will see it is work)
if you start a hashpower rental for maybe 1 BTC it is better to run it for more time with less speed, you will get more shares as other 1 BTC with more speed and less time: how more hashpower do you will rent,  how more will the price go up and in the end you get less shares.

Sorry for my bad englisch, hope you understand what i mean.

Yes of course, I will tell you once it is over. It is network switch works, the pool itself will be untouched and still running.

From December 20th, 2021 at 23:00 ET to December 21st, 2021 03:00 ET there will be maintenance works at the datacentre where the pool is hosted. As a result there may be downtime during this period, and I highly recommend not starting any rentals during that period.

Hi, anybody has a pointer to the instructions about how to set up a gekko compac F usb stick to mine BTC coin or any other coins?
I went to solo.ckpool.org to try to find information, but I seem got lost there.

Thanks
Um, why look for hardware-specific info in a pool thread? For any miner that will be found in the Hardware threads dealing with that specific hardware be it Ants, Avalons, etc or the various stick miners out there. As Biffa posted, in the case of the CompacF's that would be here
Mining is the Best way to get cheap Btc.

How many people are unable to get onto a solo group now? Is it enough that I should help set up another group buy of hashrate myself? I wouldn't be mining myself but obviously if a block's found I'm rewarded regardless.
Yes, I would like to work on the program too.

Tested the pool auto diff behavior on small miners (Block Erupter, U1 / U2 the TTBit and a power reduced S5) and it works ok.

It is also working when the suggest-diff is added into the cgminer.conf file.

"suggest-diff" : "2" on Blockerupter
"suggest-diff" : "4" on U1/U2
"suggest-diff" : "10" on TTBit / 2Pack Gekko

Use of --suggest-diff X on the comand line during starting does the same

Even on S5 I added the suggest-diff line after ssh into the miner under /config cgminer.conf.
But that change is not permanent and get lost after a restart of the miner, so the new pool setting is more usefull for the S Series.

"suggest-diff" : "500" on a half S5

Edit: for reference add the real values
Are the pools still working?
for me the pool is working fine. we run a 30PH rental at this time
