I have a big favor to all investors: if you are an investor, please set (or update) your email address in https://yolodice.com/#settings.
I want to be able to give you a heads up on any changes that would affect anything related to investmenting at YOLOdice. In particular, I am thinking about adding progressive jackpot and rakeback.
Cheers,
Ethan
A+ Notifying investors. Going forward I suggest you keep the rate the same and maybe increase your flat rate that you take from investors on profits and use this as your marketing budget instead of changing the deal to investors anytime you want to run a various promo.
It's one of the things we are discussing, it seems online cassinos chose one of 2 ways:
1. sponsor things like rakeback, jackpot and bonuses from site bankroll (it's quite common)
2. sponsor these from a separate fund
I have not yet chosen anything particular. Solution (1) would lower the house edge for players and could lower expected income for investors. (2) moves any extra risk to site owners.
I would run away from any site that would use my investment to sponsor competition prizes or avertizing, or uncontrolled faucet, because these are in most cases costs that have no expected ROI defined. What I am thinking is having some mechanisms as core part of the game, with well-defined effect on profit and site advantage. The math behind it would still guarantee e.g. 0.8% - 1% of site advantage as seen from investors' perspective. It's all about transparency for me.
But most importantly, all these would have one goal - encourage players to play and let them have fun. We are still at the beginning of our road to success :-)
Cheers,
Ethan
