Hi Ethan,

Just a few ideas that I would love to see incorporated into YoloDice, since I'm beginning to love the site more & more each day.. Smiley

1. Private tipping. ( so that I can tip my bank account & my good friends anonymously )
Somehow more and more people request it... This request is definitely moving up on my list. On one hand I want tips to be public, on the other you are right - if you tip your friends, you sometimes really want it private. Maybe we would allow private tips after an account wager at least 1 BTC?

2. Addition of site to DiceBot.
The work started already. I am working on releasing API, which would allow Seuntjie to add YD to his bot.

3. Suspense account for Ref. commissions ( to that I could accumulate & take it into my main balance as & when I please )
If more people request this, I will take a look at it. Honestly I cannot see much sense in creating yet another balance for each user, but I understand some other sites do it like that.

4. A RainBot that could be refilled by players that will automatically reward chatters.
This might be nice indeed. Honestly I rather see real people raining, it's more fun for sure and chat seems to go crazy when it happens. So let's see. I am writing this idea down and come back to it later!

I have also looked at .onion addresses and right now it would be too much work for me. The threat is that it could open YD for more abuse and would require different defence mechanisms, e.g. we would not be able to block IP addresses etc. So let's leave it for now.

Right now the "night mode" and "API" seem to be getting most attention from users so I will concentrate on these larger goals. I am still open on any other ideas and I could implement something smaller meantime.

Cheers,
Ethan

Yeah I'm 100% against animations too.  I remember when they first came out on another site and people hated them and ended up turning them off anyways.

imo fast rolls are WAY better for gambling than animations.

Earlier today I disabled some button animations (from the Bootstrap theme we are using) - game feels even more responsive, especially on mobile browsers. There is not much visual difference though.

Besides that what I'd like to see is some kind of a fancy animation for dice rolls Tongue one I've always liked is how Nitrogensports does the animation for their site.
Fancy animations are only amazing for the first couple times you see it. Then animation becomes more of a burden and you are bored to death by viewing it again and again.
It is usually not worth time and effort to create something that most users will skip/disable after dozen of bets. I am more exited when I see green numbers popping out on my screen. Wink

Animations are just slowing the rolling. Just the faster the rolls the better.  Grin
I second the motion.  Grin I dont want to be left hanged there specially when the connection slowed for a while. Without those fancy animations this will be prevented even if the internet slowed down. I will not agree with that update. Sure it looks cool but we are gambling here not making beautiful images.

Mathematically, you have a ~150% chance to have 1 red in 150 rolls on 98.99% win chance.

What does "150% chance" mean? Certain-and-a-half? I think your math is wrong.

You have a 1% chance of losing each roll. If you do 150 rolls that doesn't mean you have a 150% chance of losing at least one.

The way the calculation works is like this:

* you have a 0.99 probability of winning each bet
* so you have a 0.99 ^ 150 probability of winning all 150 bets
* 0.99 ^ 150 = 0.22145
* so you have a 22.145% chance of winning all 150 bets
* so you have a 77.855% chance of losing at least one bet

Please note that I do not vouch for yolodice.
I phrased it wrong.  I shouldn't have said mathematically, I should have said theoretically.  If you're playing on a 99% win chance that means a 1% loss chance which theoretically means that he should lose 1 roll of every hundred (though probability and variance obviously affect this outcome greatly) so if he rolled 150 times and only lost once, he was actually lucky.

My point wasn't really the math, only that 1 loss in 150 rolls on a 99% win chance is not only not "unfair", its practically expected.

I fully agree. Animations might be OK for the first few times, later they are just annoyances for most people. I definitely want YD to be clean and fast rather than fancy.

I am looking deeper at .onion routing, I will most likely do the night theme, several people expressed their interest in API too. This is still a planning phase though.

Bitdice is scam scam scammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

What's next?

I have completed most of the points from my short-term "TODO" list. This included quick (0-conf) deposits, mod power-tools, fixing minor bugs, extending chat with PMs and channels. These were all suggestions from YD users. Some of them still need a bit of work (fine-tuning), but I am looking for ideas that I could put on the list. I would be more than happy to hear your opinion!

Some of the ideas people already suggested (and which I like) are:

* night mode theme (white screen at night is a pain)
* expose API (so that one could create playing bots, or fetch site status, or anything)
* .onion address for even better anonimity
* any idea of yours?

I am looking for a feature that could be implemented in no more than a week - from start to first deployment. If you have a feature or an impovement that you think would make YD better and more exciting, please share it!

Cheers!
Ethan

Jackpot for players might be good idea!?
All those listed ideas are certainly necessary, hope you release them soon especially night mode.

API would for sure be a welcome addition. Would allow guys like Seuntjie to add the site in their bot.

For the players who use faucet on some days, maybe a it would be helpful to show how many requests they used/have left? Not very important though! I know the negative opinions about people who use faucet and what kind of people it may bring, but it does keep me interested enough to make a deposit again.
Already like the site so far. Although, I am betting using a mobile device sometimes, so I'm tapping the screen continuously as i bet, and found myself accidentally tapping on the M=2 M=4 row of buttons for multiplier after some number of bets. I appreciate the fact you guys have a warning for max bet, which made me feel a lot safer to play mobile, but when betting like this, the spacing between where the high or low buttons + the row of Multiplier Buttons,  could use  a tiny bit more distance from eachother, only to help prevent such a simple mistake like this from anyone else.
also, if its just me only that makes mistakes like this I just need to be ore careful next time.
Glad to hear night theme comming. Lol
