I don't think that education will make much of a difference. Take the 2015 San Bernardino attack as an example. The perpetrators (Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik) were well educated Muslims. Farook was born in the United States, and even attended the California State University, San Bernardino.

Rules needs to be changed from time to time. In 8th century AD, pork was banned because it was the main reason for the spread for various parasitic diseases. But hygienic and safe pork is available now. So this ban needs to be removed.

In genetic structure of pig is very similar to human. Scientists even wanted to use the organs of pigs for transplantation to man. How do you think Muslims would have refused such an operation? I doubt it. It would look funny a Muslim with the liver of a pig.

AFAIK, they have some sort of thing that is called "khakua" ( I'm not sure though how they would know that a person is a khakua or been spirited with a khakua). Those that are categorize as khakua are eaten by the tribe but, that doesn't mean they want to be/look like a human.

The Korowai were perhaps the last tribe to practice cannibalism in Australasia. They practiced cannibalism until the 1980s, but stopped the practice after converting to Christianity. There are still a few uncontacted tribes in the island of New Guinea, who may be continuing the practice. But since they don't have any outside contact, we can't be sure.
