Just create a thread on the meta board. Label it [Ban Appeal] for .

From there explain you don't know why you were banned, include a link to your username. I believe your account should have also had a message from the Forum explaining that you were banned, with an email address to appeal to.

A couple things will happen, a random forum user will find the infraction. Most bans come down to plagiarism, and you would have to prove your account is a positive to the forum as a whole.
Usually it should not be how to do ban appeals, it should be that one should follow so that one will not get ban. As SOP for every organization/forum the respect to read the rules and regulations should always be the first thing to do as a user. This is why some don't pay attention to this and most of them committed violations and got ban reacted violently. They should be adhere their problems violently. LOL!

It was difficult enough to identify a thread where I could share my opinion regarding the ban.

I don't have access to the content I posted. I remember posting something related to the startup I'm a founder. Nothing spammy but an introduction to what we do and how we do it.

Obviously, we're innovators so we don't use words and phrases like PoW, PoS, X11, Byzantine, mining block, Lambo, to-the-moon because we're developing an alternative mining protocol that's activated by car-driving.

So, based on your experience, what's the proper procedure to appeal the ban? or who should I appeal the ban with?

I really appreciate your guidance.

Have a great day ahead, sir

If that's true follow the ban appeals process and create a topic in Meta about your situation, anything more than that is Ban Evasion.

Listen you disn't get a Parma ban for saying something people disagree with. You can honestly say anything you want here, and admins don't give a shit, unless you are excessively trolling and that's a high bar or you plagiarized content.

So make your thread show us who you were and people will look and respond.

Well, I might be one of the thousands that got banned from bitcointalk.org.

The funny thing is that most of the people I know that are involved in crypto are anarchists that are always fighting for Human Rights like freedom of speech or Julian Assange, among them.

Banning free speech is not exclusive to bitcointalk. It also happens on Facebook, although Telegram is the worst.

Why does someone get to own a free media like Facebook, to simply decide who "write this" and "who writes that" without paying a penny for hosting? Not even Facebook itself does ban as many people as the moderators of their public groups run by individuals.

As I stated before, Facebook does not behave differently than bitcointalk.org when it banned our account a couple of weeks back.

I got to figure out that our ban was due to plagiarism. Nothing farther from the truth.

I do represent a startup that I personally have bootstrapped for almost a year that promotes an endogenous coin and an innovative DLT to help reduce car crashes by car-drive mining. A DLT that may save lives. Not an ERC-20, or a Waves-based token but a real deal with proprietary code that boast 100% mineable assets without an ICO, STO or IEO to get funded.

I'm not a millionaire either.

We do our own content. So, it's impossible that there's a startup doing the same thing we do and even using the same literature and language we do for us to copy and paste "their" content in here.

I've written to one of the moderators twice with no response.

It seems unfair that a personal opinion from someone who's not familiar with what we do as co-founders will impact so severely a well-intended crypto startup by blocking an outlet like bitcointalk for them to communicate with their potential audience.

Worst is that whoever banned that account has done it with no remorse or even the courtesy to let us defend ourselves.

I might get banned again but I've expressed myself and I know one of the mods will read this long note.

I was newbie at that time. I admit i did read the rules ind details latter but i did not get to my old post and delete them unfortunately. I will take responsibility for this mistake and looks like i am leaving this forum for good.

Take care all... and stay safe:)

Post from June 2018. Thank you.
The time you copied the post doesn't matter mate, I have seen some members get permanent bans from posts of 2017 or 2016.
It's unfortunate but that is the forum policy on bans.

Already started thread here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/just-another-case-of-ban-help-hilariousandco-theymos-5141561 and still don't know when I will get unban.
Do you have any idea how much time it takes to get unban? Please read my thread first and replies before making any comment, your comments are valuable.
Not really sure but you have got to be patient buddy.
There is one particular chap, don't remember his name, some Dev... I think his appeal took about a month. Maybe you can look up a couple of chaps who have been unbanned then you can get in touch with them through PM to know what they did and how long it took them.

Anyway i understand you have rules you need to follow in order to control the quality of the forum. If you can get my account un-banned please let me know. Otherwise i will leave this forum to others and i will use it only for reading it.

Looking forward to get reply to my appeal.

Thank you and best regards

If you get banned (temporary or permanently) and create a new account to continue posting / sending PMs, it's considered ban evasion. The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban.

Hey Lafu

Nice thread, just found a linking error. When you click the link to the original post, it actually takes you to the quote below. The confusion maybe came in trying to grab particular quotes from the rules/guidelines.

Rule 25, you are speaking to doesn't have a direct quote to theymos attributed, the one you grabbed sits right above it as rule 24.

It occurred to me that I should write a little about this in case anyone's wondering about what dogie's doing, or why other people are getting banned for somewhat similar activity:

Ads are typically not allowed in posts (outside of the signature area) because they are annoying and off-topic. It is especially disallowed to put ads or signatures at the bottom of all of your posts. Except for traditional valedictions, which are tolerated but discouraged, signatures are for the signature area only.

However, if you are using the forum as a publishing platform to host something really substantial and useful, selling ads in that substantial work is allowed. To be eligible for this, your post must be in a topic that you started, and your post must be substantial and long enough to make the ad seem entirely insignificant. If in doubt, ask me.

Edited to fix improper quote formatting

Hi! I am not sure if this is the right place but I will try anyway. I do have a friend who recently signed up and while he did not get banned, he was redirected to a page asking him to pay before he can continue accessing the forum. He has not posted anything. Is there anything he can do about it? Thanks!

He can try creating a new account from a different IP address but the payment is typically like ~$10 so might as well just pay.

Oh. Thanks. I think I would just advise him to create a new account (I suppose by using a VPN app?) because I am not sure he would want to pay for membership.

I'm ready for the moderator even if she or he angry to me I accept that I know it's my fault I'm just willing to share my feelings about to my old account Sad sorry to my bad english I hope you understand me

The moderator isn't likely to care about your feelings. Stop multi-posting. Better yet, stop posting altogether. Use the saved time to read the rules, although it's too late for that really. Every new post you make is breaking at least one forum rule so you're well on your way to your second ban.

"Common rogue from Russia with a bare ass."
Hi tmtf what do you mean king of tondo? that's the title of movie here in my country I'm just a support of that movie correct me if I'm wrong thats my facebook profile link right?

That''ll be tmfp, proficiency in English is not required in order to copy four letters accurately.

Whenever I'm feeling bored and helpful (as in now) I like to know the poster's backstory, which is where I found your FB Hari nang Tundo reference.
You being a young guy I guessed it was to the gangster movie/song, but 1000 years ago, there were real "Kings of Tondo."

Sooo, R*y, you've learnt two things today:
1) You ain't going to get your blackssmith account back (or its merit)
2) A bit of history.

Hopefully my account will be unbanned, even temporarily unbanned, so that I can send my merit to my new account...I just want the merit.

Unscrambled that for ya.
I think honesty is always the best policy, but not always....

On the bright side, I now know a little about the King of Tondo.

I have made sure a moderator can see what you're doing here. You're not gonna like the response though.

This is technically good thread. I support this and would encourage users who gets banned to look this thread first and do the steps in order to know the reason why user was being ban.

Up for this thread!

@blackssmith

I just found this

One of the moderators can tell you why , but guess there are only 2 reasons spamming or plagiarism !

The next thing is you only should post in Meta with your Account about your ban ! And you have post in other sections with this account !

Dosnt look good for you and guess your account get banned again !

Cheers
