Side jobs were supposed to be jobs that one just engage in to support your actual or main job. It's no surprise that at times, these side jobs tends to even generate more income than the main job an done is left wondering...

Perhaps, the side job should be redefined to be that job which is expendable. There are times it might pay more but have got no securities on it (like, it won't last for a long time). You can't afford to make so much within a short time and be left stranded or out of job in few years. So, when you find that job, be it after having an engagement that could last a lifetime or whatever, the expendable job is the side job.

A side job is very important not only to create an additional stream of income, but also to be able to have something that you can do in case your main source of income is failing. It is even better if the taxation in your country of residence is not too stringent on how much can you keep. Some countries put extra taxation if you have two jobs and some other have a very heavy taxation if you go above a certain salary and it may not be worth to do extra.

General opinion is that a side job is one that supports the main income of an individual, often times perceived as something that brings little money to add to what you make from your day job. If Mr X earns better from a side job when compared to the income from his career option, does the side job still qualify to be called a side job?

Its a personal kind of opinion and views whether he do make that side job as his main job but we know if you do talk about crypto earnings then this isnt something that should really be made out to be the main source

of income due to risks and no assurances on making sustainable on long run not like on day stable jobs that we do know but if you could able to bare that risk then go ahead but not all would really be that confident on

doing so.It is normal that humans would really be finding lots of alternatives when it comes to money making so it would really be just on personal opinion i should say.

Side job is what it is. It is needed to add more money from your income but if your side job earns more money from your main job then make it as your main job instead of a side job. I would do the same if I am able to earn more money from my side job than my main job but it doesn't mean I will quit my main job. After all, we need money to buy everything we need to survive and not money to survive. Money may be needed but food is much needed for poor people like us

If I was to define a side job I will simply say it's a job that complements once passion and career. It is very possible for a side job to be more lucrative than once passion but because it's something done for the money it's a side job. For my my passion is not driven because I need the money but because I want to serve humanity but when it comes to side job I would consider the the returns first. So for me if side job pays more better so I can use the return to pursue my career and serve humanity
Both types of work are sources of income, so I think we can do it without interfering with either one. I define a side job as something that fills my spare time as well as an effort to get what I want when I can't afford the income at my main job.

A person may still earn 10x more from a side job compared to their actual job, but it depends on what kind of work they do. A friend I know is a miner, he has his main job as a teacher but still does these two jobs just to appreciate his time in a career. Obviously mining is more profitable on his part, but I've never seen him complain about his main job as a teacher. Even a side job can do more than just a passion and a hobby.

I know someone who runs a company selling items through ebay and makes a sizable sum from it every month, probably more than his main salary, but he still considers just as "extra income". Some people get more satisfaction from their day job, whether that is in the form of social interaction (being around people rather than isolated at home) or their main job offers more intellectually stimulating work. If you're a programmer or a doctor, you might get to exercise your brain a bit more trying to solve complex tasks - but if your side job is churning out mundane articles without thinking, then most people will just find it as a grind and keep it as a hustle.

When it comes to side jobs, I think online jobs now generate more income than main jobs.
But as long as we do not choose a side job as the only profession, it cannot be the main source of income.

But if the income of the side job is better than the main job and if someone excludes the main job because of this and accepts the side job as the only earning source, then it can no longer be called a side job.

Having a side job is another option for every people. Usually, when someone needs more money, he will search for other jobs that he can do in his free time. If he can earn more than what he gets from his career, I think he can quit his main job and focus on his side job as he can make more money than his monthly payment.

Many people do that while they still have the main job but soon after they can make more money from their side job, they are quit and give more time for their side job. That is normal to do that.

It doesn't matter if your main job generates less income than a side job, because as long as you still consider your side job as your second job then it will stay the same. Side job's good, because I think it's a source of income to support someone financially. I've been doing it for a long time and I don't think it will be a problem if I can really manage my time well. Some people may start switching from their main job to a side job due to economic factors or just want to focus on one of the most productive jobs for them, that's also okay as long as the person has considered the consequences of losing his main job.

This side job is liked by many people because it can basically help them grow financially if the income at the main job cannot meet their daily needs, their needs in a month, or their lifestyle desires. A side job should not only be about online work, but it should also include offline work as well.

Sides hustles are something that you do besides your main job when you have some extra time lying around. You might earn more doing side hustles but you can't consider this as your main job since side gigs are something that is temporary. You cannot be certain that you will be earning the same the next day. On other hand, your main job will pay you regularly and you can rely on it for paying your bills and rents. But when your side gig becomes somewhat established and stable, you can turn that into your primary job and focus more on it.

Given the definition of a side-job, the latter is understood as something that is being practiced by an individual other than his main job. The main job may consist of anything that he/she devotes majority of their time into. If, in the event, that the side-job performs financially better than the main job, then this is a sign that the person must focus on the former to at least be efficient in managing his time and resources.

Like what most people have experienced, investing into cryptocurrencies and HODLing may be considered as a side-job but you generally HODL it for the time being. The only problem with this is that there is no absolute and stable flow of income as everything revolves around risks.

Sometimes even if the side jobs brings more income than the main job it can still be seen as a side job. What is refer as a main job  is what is seen to be as a career and the passion one has for it despite  the low income it brings, and a career is what someone does all through  his/her life. A job is refer to side job or main job depends on how much it is been valued.
In essence, the main job does not mean a job that generates a large income and vice versa.
apart from all that actually having 2 jobs is not something easy and it takes managing time well,
As long as we have a main job and a side job it doesn't bother us, I don't think it's a problem

Broadly speaking, the main job is a job that is done with full intensity, and if you have another job that does not require full intensity then it is called a side job even though the money you can earn is greater than your main job.  until now I still remind my friends to have more than one job, don't depend on just one job because the competition in today's world of work is very tight and human needs continue to increase.

This is very common actually. Lots of people left their full-time jobs and turned their hobbies into full-time jobs. Most youtubers are doing it. Some people streaming the games they play and collect donations from the viewers. Some collect ad money from the big corps.  Some do crypto trading. When you are sure that you can generate a stable income from your side job you can focus on that and grow it even bigger.

I'd probably do the same if I earn more to vlogging and doing podcast like most of those youtuber. But most of those sucessful youtuber really found their passion in doing what they love doing.  Seen some of them earned 6 figures every month so why go back to being a veterinarian when they already got what they want in life.

Some of them didnt really abandoned their career but just give a limited time to lractice it. I guess fame affected their career.

In overcoming financial problems, of course, side jobs can be a solution for us, now there may be many side jobs that can indeed make more money than regular jobs, but still side jobs do not have a steady income so they cannot guarantee the future compared to permanent jobs like employees in government or companies, so I think it's better for us to stay focused on the main job and also continue to make money from side jobs.

Doesn't really matter what you call it, right? The goal is to have a second source of income, and if you end up getting it, then great. If somebody asks you, just say you have 2 jobs.

Side jobs mean that you don't have financial certainty, while core work means you have to have a contract that has been agreed upon and can't be avoided as long as it's still in the worker's contract. I think the finances of a side job are relative to freedom, there are no demands that will make you feel obligated to patch it up the next day. Whereas in general the main job apart from having demands and contracts that have been agreed between superiors and subordinates who have an obligation to meet income targets. Unlike part-time, you can work without any work schedule arrangements or binding contracts between two individuals, namely superiors and subordinates.

does the side job still qualify to be called a side job?
What is meant by a side job is an alternative to add to the main financial boost. Because the nature of the side, which means that the income obtained is uncertain or does not have a certain time to take profits. Therefore, even though the income obtained from side jobs sometimes exceeds the nominal value of the main job, it does not mean that it can be called a requirement to fulfill the main job.

The nature of the main job, based on the profession of a person who is in the field, while a side job is an alternative that is done based on newly developed abilities.
