This is very common actually. Lots of people left their full-time jobs and turned their hobbies into full-time jobs. Most youtubers are doing it. Some people streaming the games they play and collect donations from the viewers. Some collect ad money from the big corps.  Some do crypto trading. When you are sure that you can generate a stable income from your side job you can focus on that and grow it even bigger.
I'm not sure if that's common or not but talking about myself I get much more income from my side job comparing my full-time job also I don't even have to work so hard for it and I don't need to wake up early in the morning and wait for the bus in the bus station like other people, nut the point here about have a fulltime job is to have a stable and guaranteed income which can be useful for your lifestyle so can make sure of you will get some money at the end of each month and you can have your plans for it.

Why don't you start a youtube channel? What is your passion in life? Apparently you like crypto. You can always create a channel and talk about crypto. Nobody cares if what you said was true or false. People don't care. People just want to be entertained. Clever people don't visit youtube to get informed in the first place so you have nothing to fear. If you spew complete bullshit, some people will watch you anyway. Give it a try.

People are trying to have a side job that will allow them to make more money. If they already have it, it is better not to leave the main job and manage his time to do both jobs without any problem.
But often, after seeing the prospects resulting from a side job, it becomes a reference that when he leaves his main job, he already has an income sector that can provide more freedom. On average, this is often done by workers before leaving their main job, so as long as they make a retirement plan that is waiting for them at a later date.

General opinion is that a side job is one that supports the main income of an individual, often times perceived as something that brings little money to add to what you make from your day job. If Mr X earns better from a side job when compared to the income from his career option, does the side job still qualify to be called a side job?
I think that side job still qualifies as a side job because he has another job that he used to make money for before. Besides that, he is not yet choosing which job he wants to use as his main job, whether still using his main job as before or using his side job as the main job. In this matter, he can select one job only or if he feels difficult to select one of the two jobs, he can still use both jobs to make more money.

I was thinking about side job and main job in this way until I met a friend who does not have main job but he has many side jobs. I ask him why he doesn't have a main job. He replied and ask me what is main job? Is it business or is it government work?
He told me that there is nothing like a side job or a main job that he is just working remotely. That he will not work for anyone permanently and he can not depend on one source of income. He said that as one is important, all are important to him. So can remote jobs be what you call side job?
If that takes his time mostly, then it's no longer a side job, but a main job. I guess its the trend these days that people are no longer going in offices for their day jobs, since we can already make a decent income just working remotely. But i agree, all jobs should be given importance since all of them generate an income. But honestly, having a main job aside from side jobs gives us more security knowing there's always a stable and fixed income that we can rely especially not just for daily survival, but for emergency cases too.

...
Sometimes things like this are difficult for some people to digest but that's the truth,
some people also feel that in this forum they can earn more than their main job,
That's how it is that side jobs actually generate greater income
Frankly, I make more money from this forum than my sales in the real world...

I trade women's accessories in online stores but my income can only meet my kitchen needs, while the income I get from this forum, I make savings and also an investment for my family's future, I feel very blessed to be introduced by my friends about this forum.

Good questions, a side job is a Job you do together with your main job so assuming you have a better pay in your side Job it's still consider that as the amount of time spent on that side hustle isn't comparable to the main job. Normally immediately smart people start seeing their side hustle is paying more with less time given to it, they immediately give full attention to the side hustle and make it a main job. Side hustle has risk factors associated with it because usually this a self employment hustles that can end at anything but with full job, you have a basic salary.

A side hustle is always a side hustle unless you make it the main hustle (job) by dedicating more time to it and less time to the main job. If your side hustle is giving you more income, I'll advise to put more time into that and try making it your full time job although that doesn't mean you should let go of your main job unless it's a type that needs your total time then quit and look for a less time consuming job to then make your new side hustle so you can concentrate on building your previous side hustle.

That will depend on how he does that job.
If he does that side job every day with the same hours, that means that side job becomes his main job because he needs to do that job daily.
But if he does that job not every day but can earn more than his main job, that job still qualifies as a side job because he does not need to do the same thing every day.
Besides that, if I were him, I would quit my main jobs because I would have more time to enjoy my life while working or managing my side job whenever I want.

It is just a name, nothing more.

The real point of difference is which one is more stable and long term in the broader view of life. If you have a day job, you may be earning less than from some side hustle, but it is not going to disappear all of a sudden or stop paying.

In most of the third world, people are unable to follow their passion and this leads to this problem. Always make sure you support your family members so they can pursue their dreams, only then they will live happily and such thoughts will not cross their mind.

Coming to bitcoin's perspective, trading is something most of the users do beside their job and probably some are stock market veterans too. This aspect of managing money is a good thing and should be encouraged.

I think it's up to the security tenure of the side job, does your side job will be a long term project or not? if not then it is still a side job. Been doing this for years, I will have my 'regular' job, 9-5 office work and then I have a odesk job (that's what they were called before), doing it for 2-3 hours for 5 days. So it's a good compliment to my regular job. There were even times that my side hustle is getting bigger and I'm receiving very good pay compare to my regular job. But still the security of the jobs, it was long term, lasted for 3 years before it ended. So I'm back to my regular jobs again and try to look for side job just like the previous one, unfortunately there was no job similar to that which give me good pay.

I guess there's no thing as main job and side job, as long as doing a work brings money, it's just job lol, no matter what the amount is! Side jobs or part-time jobs are actually better to collect up cash for a desired goal, I guess we can make a distinction between side job and main job as main job is where we work not only for money but also for to develop ourselves and try to understand and put better efforts, while in side jobs, we just hop into it for money only, no learning of how it's done "perfectly".

There are some side job that is much greater income than the main job. Some people leave in their main job because they dont acquire enough salary and they decide to focus on side job which has a greater income more than their basic salary. One of the example of side job is (bitcointalk.org). More and more people treat this as a main job because they know that they can earn more here, more than what they received every month (salary). And it is proven that this forum is a big help for some of us.

As long as it doesn't hinder your main line of work then you're good to go and if it doesn't consume a lot of time and it doesn't feel like another job at all then you're probably alright continuing that said side job but if those are the opposite of my criteria then it's probably time for you to stop doing it or if it's paying really well then you need to quit your main work and focus your efforts in that side job and work your way to making it your new career.

For me a side job will still I say a side job, although the income from a side job is greater than that of a main job. And I will never leave my main job
to focus on doing a side job. Because after all, usually the side jobs we do are more risky than main jobs. This means that side jobs are usually only
temporary or the income earned is unstable. While we usually do main job until retirement and old age, so main job is safer for the future because
we get a steady income.
Never leave your main job because if that side job of yours would be gone then you would be fucked up and thats the real thing and you should always considered out on maximizing profits or income

in all various sources and whatever conclusions you do have in mind then you shouldnt really consider on leaving your main job at least you could still have that thing to depend on but having a side
job which do make earns more than compared on your main ones then its a good thing but dont really get that too confident on making switch up decisions.

I honestly would love to have a side job if I could. However, my job takes almost all my day (and I have some other things that I have to care for unfortunately these days) and that is why I can't.

I imagine a world where I do my job with 100% full work and then I end up having like 5-6 more hours in a day for myself, one day I sit down and relax the other day I do a side job, so I do not work every day, one relax day and one work day for side job (main job everyday) and that way I would earn some extra income. However, I would probably never really go for working for someone else, I would try to make a small business for myself.

I know marketing in crypto as well as most people who claim to know it, obviously I do not know enough but there are so many people who do fake marketing and make so much money and I am 100% certain I would do a better job than those fake people, worse job than masters of course but those are like a dozen companies, everyone else does fake and bot filled marketing.

That is something that happens quite frequently, diversifying your sources of income is never a bad thing, after all as we saw with the pandemic you can lose your job really quickly if a big enough crisis hits the country or the world, so if you have two or more sources of income you will be in a better shape in the case this happens, also since people have the tendency to do as a side job something they like then they are naturally better at it, which means more profits, and in some cases a career change is justified in which the side job becomes your main occupation while your previous job is either left behind or it becomes the side job.

Well, yes.

But it doesn't matter whether it's a side job or your main job. The important part is that you're working hard and that means that both jobs that you have are just proofs that you're really pushing yourself because you have a dream and you have to provide.

In many countries, having 2 or more other side jobs is allowed and that's making their lives comfortable as they can work with the spare hours that they have.

And if the time comes that you're earning more with the side job, these are the times that you got yourself thinking if you should just focus on the side job and leave your main job.

For me the side job is that which give just support to the main job. If someone is doing jobs or businesses at two different sectors then his main job is that from where he is earning better and the side job is that from where he earn less. That is explanation regarding the earning amount of the jobs. while mainly we call the side job to that job which is not permanent or we feel that it will not continue till last. So at that side we earn to give support to our life but we cannot fully rely on that and cannot leave the other one which is permanent.
