I wonder how Maria made his millions. No sarcasm, I would really like to know. These stories are always interesting.

Niko, at this point in my life I can tell you more than 20 ways to make millions. However, the base of my financial foundation was and is created and supported thru forex (currency exchange).

In more detail, I have developed a trading program EA that automatically trades the market for you, generating 15%+ monthly returns. Not as great as pirates 28% monthly return but in my case, there is no secret on how the money is made.. Its all clear as water.

If interested im always happy to teach new comers. Cheers

Maria.

Where are you from? Country wise.

I call it "my trading program"

Thanks for the answer, Maria. Lots of negative sentiment here as we can see, but then again, you started it - at least in this thread. Those 15%+ returns, where do they come from, if at all? From suckers who lose in the same game, right?  It's all funny money, but people seem to be taking it seriously enough to utter threats. Ultimately, it came from workers, engineers, prostitutes, dentists, carpenters, child laborers, and such - people who actually create value. That's not funny money. It only becomes funny when people like you, me, and Zhou Tong start "trading," scamming, and scheming to exploit those who actually create value so we can make our million(s) - preferably by sitting on our asses and "letting the money do the work." If it works out, we are happy and don't care where it came from. If it doesn't, we get angry.

In case you missed it: it's all funny money for you and me and the hackers. It's hard to let go of it, I know, but still...

I would have guessed that someone experienced in financial markets would know you multiply compoundable returns, not sum them. I suppose not.

Hi Maria,

Funds would be helpful and appreciated, since to do this right I'll need to purchase dedicated hardware (no more shared/virtual hosting for me!) - what did you have in mind?

In all honesty I hadn't really considered investors / partners just yet.

I was planning on purchasing hardware and self-hosting for as long as the traffic was small enough to make this feasible, and of course if traffic merits rack space at a data center it'll be paying for itself at that point.

That said it'll probably take a couple thousand worth of hardware to do this right - I want the database server to be physically separate from the web server to better prevent stuff like what happened with Mt. Gox, unfortunately this also doubles cost.

At the very beginning I could probably get by on slightly older used hardware, maybe one HP Proliant DL380 G3 for the web server and another for the database? That'd come to around $600 to $800 (total for two) with decent RAM and storage for a project this size.

I already have the power, network and internet considerations taken care of since I'm already running a somewhat sizable mining operation from my home. I'd need to call my ISP to have my ports un-blocked to host from my connection and I'd probably want to get a backup connection of some sort.

As for your role in things, did you have any technical skills you wanted to contribute or are you interested in simply investing? If you had some skills to bring to the table and could help share the (considerable) work I'd have no problem with something more like an actual partnership. If you're just wanting to invest, I'd say paying you a percentage of total profit up to a certain total payout (your investment + interest, basically) would be pretty fair.

Of course everything in life is negotiable so let me know what thoughts you had too Smiley

I am based in the U.S. (Las Vegas, NV specifically)

In the future that might actually be a problem, but I've heard that Panama's finance laws are very friendly to what we're doing. We'll see where the legislation takes bitcoin in the next few years.

I've got a lot of programming experience and a pretty hefty amount of accounting experience (I'm a database programmer for the casino industry - we KNOW accounting lol) but not a lot of trading/stock/FOREX experience until recently. I learn quick though  Grin

Maria: Zhou Tong! Lie down with your hands behind your back.
Zhou Tong: What's this? Six of you. Such nice, tidy uniforms. Oh I'm so scared!
[the Police Officers look at each other]
Zhou Tong: What you guys don't have sarcasm anymore?
[Police Officer talks to his automated assistant]
Maria: Maniac has responded with a scornful remark.
automated assistant: Approach, and repeat ultimatum in an even firmer tone of voice. Add the words, "or else".

You need to add the words "or else" in the Subject line Smiley

DUH.  Where do you think the millions came from?  Her successful career as an Indian actress.

Maria I hope your "husband" doesn't get mad at me posting these pics of you.

Am I the only dude on this forum that was married to a Hindu woman? (seriously, I was)

In civilised society there are things called juries and judges. If something happens to Ryan who do you think the cops are going to come after first after you have made such threats  ?

Maria gouges her "people in Venezuala" by charging the twice the face value of prepaid cards so they can evade Venezuelan currency restrictions and buy shit online.  Whatever makes you think she's civilised?

"Maria" probably didn't have any funds on Bitcoinica.

This.  Scammers gotta scam.  HE can't help himself.

Lots of confusion going on.  "Maria" figures it is a good time to scam the imaginary 17,000 bitcoins deposited.
Get a refund on a deposit that was never made.  Now that is some solid scamming.

Also I guess the bitcoins were having lots of bitsex and producing bitcents because

Zhoutong, In my eyes you are the one to blame because this is your fault for not letting me know you was going to sell bitcoinica to intersango. You lied and sold private property trusted in your hands. Unfortunately somebody has to take responsibility for my 16,000 missing bitcoins.

16,000 =/= 17,000

If you knew he was a crook from the start then why'd you voluntarily give him 17.000 BTC?

That isn't a question btw.

he's speaking figuratively.  obviously he didn't know he was a crook from the very start but probably got a funny feeling about him soon after making his deposit.
