Will ICO token sale be fixed or depend upon how many investors?

Depends on the number of investors.
Can Devs confirm this?

I'm confused, why is it that this thread was started last year and ICO won't begin until Sep 10th? Also, will there be any extra bonuses for people who invest early?

It seems like they've been working on the code during that time. Which is a good thing. Wouldn't want to invest in something that will come out over a year later.

Two questions please:
1) Any reason what not build this project on top of Maidsafe?
2) How does this project compare to Decorum?

Big changes regarding DCT amount: http://decent.ch/update-decent-distribution/

Can this new distribution represente graphically? I can not understand common vision from text. Thx.

70%+30%=100%. In what part is (10%+2%+1M+3M)?

Assume Software sale in September (ICO) will be 70M DCT (it is the base for calculations).
Then 30M DCT will be dedicated to mining rewards during 20 years.
Additionally there will be 10M DCT for the DECENT Foundation and 2M DCT for the Investment Fund.
Plus 1M DCT for the Bounty program and 3M DCT for Pre-software marketing (fixed amounts).
Is it right?

Good move on dev part to change the distribution. But do you have the number of coins initially when this will be released? And any inflation rate?

Also, is the price still the same if tou already changed the terms of the sale about the 50% bonus?

Decentralized Content Distribution
August 23, 2016, 01:38:31 PM
New article about DECENT!

"DECENT is a decentralized content distribution platform that seeks to eliminate unwanted and unnecessary middleman fees and manipulation by connecting content creators (such as bloggers, musicians, painters) and consumers directly to each other!"

So what is the total coin supply for ICO/mining, I just see percentages?
Total amount will be based on amount of tokens sold in ICO.

Exactly how many DCT are there to be sold. And how much is the foundation keeping?

Information about this are going to be updated soon. In the meanwhile, I would suggest to check out DECENT Software Sale and join our Slack.
I already joined. Another question, if I publish something, can I un-publish it?

Great! DECENT is a blockchain based p2p network. A key characteristic of blockchain is immutability. So once something is published, it cannot be unpublished.

It's similar to Bitcoin transactions. After you send BTC from your wallet to someone else, you can't undo it.

But how would that work when millions of 4k, 8k videos get published. Unless the whole world is mining, there's just not going to be enough hard drive space as time moves along.

These videos/data will be on the clients who volunteers to use their Hard drive will collect some fee's, Is this correct?
If yes. Could you please elaborate how to make it consistent in case one client go off line and how to retrieve the video/data

You are right. Currently we are using a modified Bittorrent as an off-chain data distribution protocol. When uploading content to DECENT Network, the author can choose a number of publishers he or she would like to use. More there are publishers, more redundant & expensive the publishing is.

We're now working on integration of various other data distribution protocols, such as IPFS and others, that would have a guaranteed redundancy. This is particularly important for DECENT-Stream, a decentralised Netflix-like VOD service we're building.

There is a small publishing fee for each piece of content. This is aimed to prevent network spam and to incentivise publication of great genuine content.

But that's exactly what I'm talking about. Not spam, but legit content. For example, lets say that NBC decides to post 180 hours of 8K Olympic coverage on Decent in 2020, then again in 2024, then again in 2025. With thousands of other user also posting 8k content. With petrabytes upon petrabytes of data. All that data cannot possibly stay in the blockchain.

Data are not stored in blockchain. They are shared in different layer which is based on bittorrent.
