The objective of this handbook is to provide all the information needed for an investors looking to join Lithium’s Initial Coin Offering (ICO): from the Coin Distribution, to Lithium’s core features, projects, and future plans. Furthermore, this handbook will explain and pitch you why we think you should invest in Lithium.
This Handbook will be divided in 4 sections. The first one will briefly explain what Lithium is. The second one will explain the project current status, roadmap, future projects and development. Next, the third section will deliver a comprehensive plan to on our price projections and market capitalization objective. Finally, the last section pitch you why we think you should invest in Lithium.
I. – THE LITHIUM PROTOCOL1. What is Lithium?
Lithium is a brand new cryptocurrency developed in C# with 100% new source code. Even though it takes inspiration from the foundations laid down by projects like Bitcoin, NXT, Fluttercoin, and Clarity it does not draw any code from other repositories.
In essence, Lithium is a self-regulated and distributed ledger system whose primary application is currency. The network uses a system called Proof-of-Transaction (POT) to verify transactions and reward Lithium addresses involved in these transactions.
Unlike proof-of-stake systems, POT discourages coin hoarding, and prevents the coin economy from stagnation, incentivizing money flow and real use. Economists agree that a healthy economy needs what is called “Velocity” (
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/v/velocity.asp).
The velocity of money is the rate at which money is exchanged from one transaction to another and how much a unit of currency is used in a given period of time.
In other words, for an altcoin to have a healthy economy and grow in market capitalization, the coins (money) needs to flow and be used instead of remaining stagnated in wallet while “staking”.
At launch there will be 30,000,000 tokens, or coins. Every minute two coins will be created by rewarding a public key involved in a random transaction selected by the network. If there are no transactions in the last block, the network destroys the coins. If there is only one transaction the network selects with a 50/50 change either to destroy the coins or reward this last transaction.
II. – LITHIUM NOW AND FUTURE PROJECTS1. Project status at launch
Lithium has been in development for almost a year. It was born as a side project and a hobby, but it has now reached an alpha state where it can be released and used by anyone.
a) Windows Wallet
The main client (wallet), currently in alpha, consists of a console application for Windows with basic command calls, but more API calls need to be implemented to facilitate its usage for the general public. We also want to prioritize the development of a JSON-RPC server implementation so it can be used and called by other applications with a more standard protocol.
b) Web Wallet and Android Wallet
Because of the raw state of the main client, we decided to develop a Web Wallet and an Android Wallet to make Lithium accessible to everyone, even on its early days. We have seen other projects like Etherum were the early wallets were obscure and difficult to use by the general public and that generated discontent among some members of the community. We wanted Lithium to fairly distributed and accessible to everyone from day one.
2. Future projects and roadmap
We like to move fast, and we work hard. We have demonstrated this by releasing the Web Wallet and Android Wallet before launch. We understand development is essential for the market capitalization to increase, and this way, reward our investors with returns on their investment. For this reason development is one of our main priorities above everything else.
This section will cover the first 12 months of projects and development.
a) Short term plans (1 – 4 weeks)
Our two main objectives after all the coins are distributed are: 1) to get Lithium traded on an exchange. 2) To develop a Windows Wallet with graphic interface to facilitate its use to everyone.
To get Lithium added on an exchange we would need to improve the console client API calls, implement JSON-RPC and probably to develop a client compatible for GNU/LINUX. The other option, that would be fastest, would be to develop and deploy our own Asset Exchange Platform, that way, everyone, outside and inside the community could buy and sale Lithium.
-Asset Exchange Platform: This platform has more than a month of development put into it and could be finished in in couple of days we dedicate 100% of our time to it. We intend to distribute shares among a certain level of investor so you receive dividends from this platform. This will be explained in other sections of this Handbook.
-Windows GUI Wallet: We need to make a Lithium wallet with graphic interface so users can use the client and network directly, but easily. The current console client is not easy to use for everyone and requires some knowledge of console applications usage. We estimate this could be developed in 1 to 3 weeks too.
-iOS Wallet: We developed the Web Wallet and Android wallet with the Crosswalk framework to make the development easy and fast to port to different platforms. After the ICO, we will have funds to port and test the Wallet for iOS systems.
-Android wallet and Web wallet improvements: After all this short term projects are completed we would like to improve this wallets, add more functionality and security, like the ability to export and import private keys from other wallets, so users can have more than one Lithium address in their wallets.
-Block Explorer: We currently have a block explorer in development and hope to release it during the ICO week, but we will need to see how much time we have in our hands during that time.
-Price ticker: Develop an API for the Asset Exchange Platform so other services and consume the price in real time. This will allow websites like coinmarketcap.com to consume the resource and list us on their website. Also, we would like to develop a ticker for mobile phones so users can track the price from their smart phones.
-Casino/Games: We want to develop and release at least one casino or gambling platform on this time frame, so Lithium has another use case besides payments, and price speculation.
b) Medium term plans (1 – 2 Months)
-JSON-RPC server implementation in windows wallet: JSON-RPC is a common communication protocol so it can be used for other service and applications without making low level implementations of the Lithium protocol. This will allow other Exchanges and services to implement Lithium in their platforms easier.
-GNU/Linux client: We understand many services and exchanges use this architecture in their backend, so it is important to develop a client for it so Lithium can be added to this platforms and exchanges. It is important to mention that the JSON-RPC implementation must be finished before we move into moving the client to this operative system.
-Blockchain obfuscation: Implement a system to obfuscate certain type of transactions so it is not possible for a third party to analyses and identify the sender and receiver of the given transaction. We would like to maintain the normal transaction system and include the stealth transaction system as an alternative.
-Lithium Pay: Easy to use payment platform to send payments using Lithium that automatically transform to Bitcoin and other crpyocurrencies. It will also have a platform and API for other services to easily integrate the system in their websites.
c) Long term plans (2 – 12 months)
-Smart assets: This feature will facilitate the creation of alternative assets on top of the Lithium blockchain. It will be possible to create these assets from the Lithium client or the Asset Exchange Platform, and will be possible to trade them easily on the mentioned platform.
-Twitter alternative: We want to develop a social network platform where you earn Lithium coins when your message get shared or liked. There are a lot of talks nowadays about the future of Twitter, so we want to create an alternative to it but integrating cryptocurrency.
3. Coin Distribution
a) About
We acknowledge every distribution method has flaws in their search for democratic and fair distribution. For example, proof-of-work excludes the community in general, allowing only miners to acquire coins initially. Also, this system rewards large mining operations, botnets, and ends up rewarding a reduced amount of people. Free distribution methods in the other hand tend to reward people who can cheat the system and create false accounts, bots, and so on. Also, free distribution tends to devalue the price of the coin, because people without true interest tend to dump their coins as soon as the coin gets included into an Exchange.
b) Methodology
For the reasons described above, we have laid down a plan to combine distribution methods to mitigate the flaws of using one method. We will distribute a percentage of the coins through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) and the remaining percentage will be distributed through a Free Distribution, a Signature Campaign and a set of other Bounties described on the ANN thread.
A total of 30,000,000 coins will be distrusted the following way:
-ICO: 25,500,000 – 85%
-Bitcointalk Signature Campaign – 5%
-Free Distribution – 5%
-Bounties – 5%
3. Initial Coin Offering
The 85% of the total coins will be offered in the ICO (25.5 M coins). We are looking to raise between 40 BTC and 50 BTC to fund development of the projects described in this Handbook. The ICO will last 30 days or when all the coins are sold.
Our goal from day one will be to reward our investors by developing innovative tools and project to help increase the market capitalization of Lithium, thus they can make Returns on investment (ROI).
a) ICO Price
First day: 0.00000157 BTC – Discount 20%
First Week: 0.00000165 BTC – Discount 16%
Second Week: 0.00000176 BTC– Discount 10%
Third Week: 0.00000184 BTC – Discount 6%
Last week: 0.00000196 BTC – No discount
b) Investor levels
We want to reward members of the community who invest the most.
Level 1 investor – Less than 0.1 BTC investment: Will only receive Lithium coins at the given price he bought.
Level 2 investor – Between 0.1 BTC and 1 BTC investment: Will receive their Lithium, but will also receive a bonus of 10,000 XLTH. Also, they will receive special updates and information before anyone else does.
Level 3 investor – More than 1 BTC investment:
In addition to their Lithium, Level 3 investors will receive Lithium shares which will be a representation of shares in our Asset Exchange Platform. This platform will include other altcoins, and the revenue generated will payout weekly to our Level 3 investors.
The development team will keep 10% of the revenue generated to pay for maintenance, and the other 90% will be distributed among level 3 investors.
The formula by which you level 3 investors will get shares is:
Amount personally invested / total amount invested by Level 3 investors
Level 3 investors will also join the Lithium Decision Board and will have the opportunity to vote for important decisions and will receive information and updates before anyone else.
III. – PRICE AND MARKET CAP PROJECTIONS1. About
We believe our main job as developers is to reward our investors, and the way to do this is to increase Lithium’s Market Capitalization, thus increase our investors Return on Investment.
2. Market capitalization after ICO
When the ICO ends Lithium will have a relatively low market capitalization of around ~$50,000 USD. This will put Lithium in the position no. 252 in coinmarketcap.com and will allow our investors to make an x100 ROI easily achievable.
3. $500,000 Market cap milestone
Our main objective after the ICO is over is to reach a market cap of $500,000 so this way our investors can make x10 ROI.
This is every achievable since we only need to reach position no. 113 on coinmarketcap.com. And any coin of that not a clone of Bitcoin or CryptoNote trades at higher prices than that.
By the time, Lithium is tradable in our Asset Exchange Platform we expect to reach this milestone.
4. $5,000,000 Market cap milestone
Our second objective is to reach a market cap of 5 Million USD and that would put us on position no. 41. Please notice that we are not promising anything impossible. We are not promising to reach the top then by this time, but it certainly is possible.
By the time we reach position no. 41 on coinmarketcap.com our ICO investors will have made x100 ROI.
We expect to reach this milestone by the time we implement JSON-RPC and/or we release the GNU/LINUX wallet so other Exchanges can add us in their platform.
IV. – Why should you invest in Lithium? We know what you want
We understand you. As an investor you don’t buy altcoins for the sake of it. You buy altcoins to gain money, a return on investment on a unique project, with potential to reach higher market capitalizations and Lithium is all of that.
Our main objective is to develop features and projects for Lithium so we can increase its market capitalization so our investors are happy.
We know what you fear
You fear two things:
1) That Lithium is a scam.
2) That we do not make x100 ROI.
Is Lithium a scam?
No. If you look at other ICOs they promise future projects and a coin to be released in the future, but Lithium has already been release so we are not asking you to wait months to receive you coins. We can even send you a couple of coins for free if you ask for it.
We have already released the Web Wallet and an Android Wallet before the ICO even started. And if you are reading this on January 2, 2017 you will notice that we have already released the Windows Console Wallet too.
We have already paid bounties and sent Lithium for free to the Twitter campaign participants, translators and blog writers.
If you are reading this on January 2, you will notice we started giving away 5% of Lithium on a Free Distribution to more than a thousand registered accounts.
So, a coin that 1) has released 3 wallets 2) Gave away 5% of the coins on an open Free Distribution 3) has delivered every project they promised on the PRE-ANN, cannot be a scam.
Can we make at least an x100 ROI?
Reaching a $5,000,000 USD market cap is not an insane objective. Most coins that are not Bitcoin clones trade above that.
Even if we only reach $500,000 USD market cap in the short term that is an x10 ROI for our ICO investors and it is very respectable.
Even the laziest Bitcoin clone trades at this market capitalization easily within the first days after release, and Lithium is a unique cryptocurrency, first of its kind, and with an Android Wallet and a Web wallet already released ( and that not even some coins in highest market caps have it).
Conclusion
We have delivered everything we promised in the PRE-ANN and even more. Even coins already trading in the top 30 on coinmarket.com do not have Web Wallets neither Android Wallets. We consider this a major accomplishment and a demonstration that we work hard and deliver.
Most ICO raise funds before they even start developing anything, but we have already spent months developing what we have already released. And we making the ICO with a product delivered as a proof of what we can achieve.
We thank everyone who believed in the project since the beginning, the members of the community participating in the Free Distribution, and especially those who through their translations, blog post, and so on are working to make this a great community and take Lithium to the moon.
