I believe he had a lot of preparation. Including this one, I think we have been thinking too much about how to help him. Just donate and wait for the money to be used sometime in the future  Cheesy (Or it is always there  Tongue ).

I think that Bruno knew that the funerals wouldnt be that expensive, had enough money for the coming events and may have organized the private keys to be delivered to his family using a delayed email service planned for like 6 months from today or maybe a 30 days rolling one.
A little bit like a dead-man switch.

He wouldn't be perverse and make the coins lost for everybody  (especially his family).

Anyway, a great bitcoinner was lost.

Rest In Peace.

PS : I'm just surprised that someone that started in 2011 and has been so prolific here isn't worth at least 1 million usd.

His relatives may already know about this donation.

Indeed.

They are. At least one of them is. That's all I can say about it.

It might sound cheesy, but the funeral home also had a "buy a tree" link, so that might also be something worth doing.

Honestly this sounds like a good idea if you have funds and need to do something with them.

Just so we are clear about this - I have no intentions of contacting Bruno's relatives, nore would I have phoned his number when it was made available earlier in this thread) - If there is agreement about the funds I am holding on behalf of the Known Alts Group, then I will either transfer the funds to the 1F wallet address as Bruno requested, or, if it looks as though the funds are going to remain untouched, I would look to do something else such as forward to the funeral home that posted the obituary, or at worst, the hospital that last treated him.

It might sound cheesy, but the funeral home also had a "buy a tree" link, so that might also be something worth doing.

Do you think Bruno asked for donations, just to see them get wasted for ever?
How about the scenario where a friend or a lawyer turns up to his daughter's doorstep - in many years from now - with our donations?
I believe we should not contact the family, but respect Bruno's final wish instead.
I also agree that we should not contact his relatives. Bruno knew his results in advance, I believe he had a lot of preparation. Including this one, I think we have been thinking too much about how to help him. Just donate and wait for the money to be used sometime in the future  Cheesy (Or it is always there  Tongue ). Anyway, the script is quite interesting, it's like a movie, but I don't think it will happen. His relatives may already know about this donation.

I never crossed path with Bruno [AFAICR] but I always heard about his contributions and for that, a big salute to Bruno for everything you've done in this community.

I think so too.
For someone who's been on crypto for a long time, I'm pretty sure when he received such bad news months ago, he already told his closest relative (his daughter maybe) on how to access those cryptos he kept including those we just recently donated.
Let them be. Let them mourn for their loss without any disturbance.

Rest in peace Bruno aka Phinnaeus Gage

But is it good to contact his relatives? All the money goes to his wallet, if his family members don't know about it, how can they get it? They need to own his wallet or private key to get them, Bruno must let them know beforehand, otherwise our contact will not effect  Roll Eyes

Yesterday I sent an inquiry on this site with the hope that they may know any of his family member's contact. I really hope they response. Someone from his family needs to know that there are some good amount of coins for them are waiting.
I saw a guy say that Bruno has a daughter, I don't know if it's correct, I think you can contact him to ask  Wink

Bruno was a really good guy. I only knew him from his interactions with him here, but he always put in effort to make people laugh. He also put in a lot of effort to try to protect the vulnerable from getting stolen from, over the years, he had gotten banned umpteen times but he would just create and/or use other accounts to continue his work and provide meaningful interactions with the community. He ended up with multiple accounts in the top rankings in terms of numbers of posts. Unlike many others, he didn’t attempt to maximize his earnings from participating here. If you ask my opinion, he genuinely cares about the bitcointalk community.

Bruno is actually the only forum member who has heard my voice. A year or two back, he was trying to prove he hadn’t sold his account and I called him to verify his phone number was still connected to him, and I vouched for him. I’ve texted, emailed and traded with other forum members but not spoken on the phone.

Based on his obituary and what he wrote, it doesn’t sounds like he was terribly suffering immediately before his death and for that I am glad.

RIP.

It's a great pain to lose someone that you love so i'm sure it brings pain to his family. Rest in peace and condolence to the family. I really hope that they will contact his family that there is a bitcoin in the said address and they will use it for the expenses. I'm sure that he left his account and address info to his family to get the btc donations.

The website shows their address is in INdiana, so it looks like Bruno's final journey home may already be underway:

Does anyone got in touch with the family? I want to be sure that there is someone that can touch the balance of the address; I've sent already some coins but if they don't know how to use it or if it is encrypted, we should find a solution or try to send to a family owned address.

I really don't want to see those btc burned.

---
I am not the type of person to say rest in peace or see you in the other world, because I don't believe in either. It's sad when someone dies, but that's how life is.

I am the only one realistic here or just shill saying RIP?

Ok he died. Rip wont help, its better that he had a sudden death instead one full of pain; been there; right now my most loved relative died (1 hour ago).

Is there any chance anyone from US can get in touch with his family to be sure that they have all they need? If they need money or anything else..

Saying rip wont help him at all.

RIP is generally a Christian saying and may not be for everyone.  It's just a wish that his soul finds eternal peace in heaven.
Given the size of the scar on his head and the nature of his ailment, I would say his death was anything but quick and likely not painless either.  I cannot imagine the anguish of knowing you have a short time left on this earth and you can't see your loved ones for one last hug before your time is up.  I guarantee his family doesn't have all they need given they weren't able to see him when he was on death's doorstep and no phone call from some anonymous internet forum user is going to change that.  It's just not realistic.

One of the first people in BitcoinTalk that I enjoyed reading his posts, especially the one vs scammy cyberpinoy aka Leroy Fodor.
I feel there is an empty space somewhere in the forum that cannot be filled easily for a long time.
