The OP was 68 cents short of being correct 4 days after his post but the fact remains that if he took the bet and agreed, then he owes someone a coin. I consider that his purchase a decent buy even tho he's out about a $1k or so. Much more so than someone that bought similar at anything higher. This is why you don't blanket buy at any one point, but piecemeal it towards a bottom. Cheers from here!

Not only did Chow lose money on the 20 BTC "purchase" but he also lost the "bet" with the implication of "look how smart I am - the price will hit $300 and continue upward, my purchase was brilliant" as opposed to below $200.

why? Look at the buy orders on the exchanges.... As the price drops it will attract more buyers and the price has just walked up 50 points in under 2 hours.
Nothing has changed regarding Bitcoin. It still works and its in its infancy, the price refelcts sentiment but please learn markets.. price drops which attracts more buyers and once buyers exceeds sellers price rises....about 20,000 BTC have been bought on Bitstamp in 2.5 hours which suggests plenty of people are ready to buy and, god forbid, if the price starts to rise quickly then watch the rush. Finaly the people who panic sold and lost will wait and wait and wait and then finally buy back in when their confidence returns and that will be right at the top of the market and.. woops, more crying as they lose on the next fall!
The smart people bought BTC for the long term and are not worried unless they are day traders and they are loving all this high volatile market and making a killing on the panic sellers who dont understand how investment models work...

There are limits to how retarded someone can be on this forum, unless you want this place to be ruled by trolls and idiots like this. Some cynical minds would say that is already the case, and they may have a point, but all the more reason to say enough is enough and clean this place up a bit.
It's been like that since months. For one average poster that is sincere (at least sometimes) you get 10 trolls, 12 fudsters, 6 idiots, and 12 lambo-alts. The ignore button should be mandatory. Use it at least twice a week, you'll ALWAYS find some obvious target. People should have banners with their ignore-list, and campaign that offers satoshis for using the button.
Ignoring is not enough, there are always people who will feed the trolls and if not some other troll with a new account will do it. Moderators will have to weed some of the worst of them out otherwise the remaining sensible people here will leave and this place becomes a real shitheap.
