I think we'll be over $300 before Friday.

Anyone want to bet me 1 BTC?

I am in! I bet you 1BTC that the BTC price will be =< $299 by Friday 9th January 2015 12:00am West European time. We will take Coinmarketcap BTC Price as a reference.
Do we have a bet?

You owe me 1 BTC. When can I expect payment?

CHOW CHOW I want my 1 BTC right away.

Don't forget that okcoin, houbi, and btcchina are worth over 80% of bitcoin's trading volume. They are what moves the market currently.
BTC China and I believe Huobi too charges no fees for trading, so the volume is probably mostly bots trying to trick users and other bots.
I suppose it is possible, but there's also okcoin that has ~15-20% of total network transaction volume as well. Bitstamp, prior to the hack, was less than 5% of all tx volume. The American market is not moving this vehicle.

Also, anyone else not shocked OP did not really want that bet, and probably never bought coins?

You should have waited until China's exit on Thursday evening. This was not the buy indicator, we still have some serious dropping to do.

What China exit is happening on Thursday?
Well, since about Nov 2013, it's happened every week. China buys up late sunday night US time, sells out late thursday night US time. It's been cyclical for over a year now. Prior to that, in 2012 and early 2013, during a mostly US market, you could trade an extra 20% or so doing the weekend sell/buy. So in essence, once the price does not recover this week, and in fact plummets even more, China will either sell more on Thursday, or buy less on Sunday. Either way its going to have a large impact. Don't forget that okcoin, houbi, and btcchina are worth over 80% of bitcoin's trading volume. They are what moves the market currently.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware China had such an impact on the market.

He won't take that bet now, doubt he ever would. It's clearly obvious we will not get anywhere near $300 this week, or anytime soon.

If all the whales have turned bearish and caused the crash, then it could be the doomsday.

However, it is the theft that dump and crash the market, then there is nothing to worry about and we will recover soon.
