I guess this recent sell-off will bring a bit of reality to all the hot heads from this topic. $1000 is very unrealistic this year, unless we have really positive, fundamental developments. Based on halving alone we won't make it!

$1k this year? Based on what? Halving alone won't get us there. We need more events on the fundamental side, e.g., agreement on the block size, that would help with the adoption and thus attract new money. Without that we can forget it.

$1k this year can get fullfilled in other ways lol.

All it takes is some random surge of buy orders to pump something up basically. But I get what your point for natural growth.. and for natural growth it takes prob many more years.
Talking about the pumps. Look at the last pump in November 2015. That is quite good example. It took us in no time from $300 to $500. We didn't hold that level and immediately went back to $350.
Check the volume of that pump and see how much effort it took. Now, going from $400+ to $1k is a hell lot of way. It would take a much bigger pump than that from the last November. Plus many people on the way, say above $500, would start taking profits. I see it hardly feasible without attracting new money, or bringing back Wally.

Perhaps we may see a price this high, after the halving, but certainly not before the halving.
Even towards the halving i am very sceptic at this 1k value.

It means the price has to double.. which is quite unlikely.

you never know though lol.

I mean the price was $300ish and ever since the whole halving hype and people are being more aware of it cause the price jump.

It can go to that level if we saw a bunch of new buyers but this would be obviously short lived.

$1000? Pshaw. Have you no ambition? If I thought Bitcoin would only go to $1000 this year I'd not even bother with it as an investment.

why? 1k is a good target this year, it will secure the mining reward against the halving

and it will lead us to surpass the last ath, next year it can increase again to 2k, or be very stable above 1k, either way it's a good achievement

Be ready!

We are ready, and i expect that the bitcoin price will be much higher comparing with the actual price, i have a feeling that the bitcoin price will be increased before the halving period.

Blocksize agreement will surely be a pump, but likely not stable and short lived. There should be some good innovation or startup that pumped the price to a higher, stable high.

BITCOIN price will reach $500 but I'm not sure that it will happen within 2016 or after the year 2016.
I feel enthusiastic and happy to see such a price rise soon. This price rise needs to be stable.
500$ is easy level to bitcoin reach and maybe this year bitcoin will reach more high than before. I mean 1000$ is possible price for this year
i do believe bitcoin prices will reach to $500 in this year but $1000 is still too far and i'm so doubt it would happen and i think this year $700-$800 will be the top

Yeah, what you are saying is true, but we cannot predict anything when it comes to price of bitcoin, as anything is possible and that would be good news if it reaches to $1k mark.

Then what price are you aiming for this year, $3000?? If the price indeed goes to $1000 this year, then you will more than double your invested money if you buy at current prices. Not bad if you ask me....

One Bitcoin equals 1000$ after the halving. The success rate is low as most has speculated for a value around $700.
If it reaches $1000 also it won't be stable for a long time. The price might decrease and get stabilised at the $600 range.

I think it can be stable at the 1k because the bitcoin can also reach a higher amount this year and will go to a lower amount of 1k, I think it can be possible but it depends also how much people will hold and how much people will sell their coins.

So I think its now still to early to say this maybe its possible but the 1k is reachable for sure.

Sure it would be nice to see price in four digits again, but even if we touch $1000 at some point this year i dont think it will hold for long. Having $500-600 as floor somewhere after summer is lot more realistic. But, again, you can never be sure with Bitcoin.

It would not hold for long but you can sell them on that price and than you will make a lot of price, it will take some time but when the halving has been done it will even more than 1k.

Its possible its just a matter of time we need, before the bitcoin will go to a high amount I think it will get to that amount for sure this year.

Its hard to say about the value. You never know what can happen in the future and that is the problem.
I hope later of course that the value is going to rise for a long time so we can sell it with much profit and that will be very good.

$500 Very Possible
$600 Possible
$700 Maybe
$800+ I dont think so.
I also think that $500-600 is the top what we can get, based on halving alone. The rest is an open story, subject to fundamental developments to Bitcoin.

$800+ within half a year.

It can be in reach if we go through another halving that quickly.

But seeing it took almost a year to reach this recent upcoming one I dont think it`ll be anytime soon unless the mining companies developed something stronger then ASIC chips.
