Yes,,, I thought about it as well and looked even more online and it is actually very expensive to be independent. It means you have to do your own research and either hire other people to do the calculations or buy a software to do it for you,,, I think many people would prefer to enjoy other benefits especially better odds. And better odds means the site has to cut down on cost and just take odds from another provider, maybe tweak it a little.

We are in a agreement here on this point.   Why would being "independent" in this case be any advantage whatsoever for the gambler?  Especially if your "independent" odds are worst then most sportsbooks. 

I think there is also onehash which is "sort of" independent in the sense that you have to bet to make the odds, they do not give out any odds at all and whatever people decide to bet on will become the odd of that game, as in even if a team that would normally get 27.00 odd in somewhere else could be bet heavily for some reason in onehash and become 1.05 whereas a team with 1.05 could be bet against and get to 27.00 instead, it doesn't happen that drastically ever of course but that is the system they have built.

In that regard they do seem "independent" in the sense that they are not getting odds from any other provider neither. Of course, the whole system is different from regular fixed odds so I can't really say if that counts or not since we would have to first accept that system.

I feel this must be very difficult to achieve, to be independent, but does that make you a sportsbook of choice for people? I guess the only way to find out is if the odds are actually different for them. I have learned now that sportsbooks that pay out with no fuss or shady business is of course most important,,, but it helps if the odds are better.

We receive the matches, markets and odds from a variety of providers and also create our own, depending on the contest.  From there, it is an ongoing process to fine tune lines and odds, adjust limits and ensure that everything is accurate.  It is a mix of automation and manual work. As we grow in staff and player size, we are able to do a lot more manual work to the games.

After an in-depth investigation into this matter, it was determined that a former programmer of the software provider, who had legitimate access, was able to gain additional access and download the database of Betcoin and several other licensees of the software.  After this relationship was terminated, he no longer had any access to the database and at no time did he have access to any company or user funds. This is a very serious situation and we immediately devoted all resources to it once we were informed of it.

We are bombarded by threats, DDOS and extortion attempts on a daily basis and each one improves our security. We are extremely regretful that this incident took place, but at no time was anyone’s passwords or funds in jeopardy. We do recommend that all players use a high-level password for both their email and Betcoin accounts and that you activate 2fa for additional security. If anyone needs assistance with an email or password change or setting up 2fa, please contact us any time.

Independent being that they create their own odds; they don't rely on an external odds provider. Have a license/regulation isn't necessarily a good thing either. Good luck getting that Curaco license enforced 

What does it mean for a crypto book to be "independent", does this mean no license and no regulation?  I ask in seriousness because I may want to use this sportsbook in the future
1 thing you should note is that they say they are "BITCOINS FIRST AND ONLY RACEBOOK" which is not true since Sportsbet has same races 
i can post a bet slip from Sportsbet with my bitcoin ticket if no one believes me

We compile all of our own odds.  We are not reliant on any third party feeds.  I "believe" that we are the only book in the crypto space that this is the case.  I know that we dont have the same number of markets in sports as some of the others, but please remember guys we are predominately a racebook.

Do you happen to know where these websites are getting their odds from? I don't know if its public knowledge or not and I don't know if they have similar places in any of them or different places or even if some of them making their own odds without getting any help at all. That would actually make a big difference for us and the way we look at these places, some of them look like they are totally different than others in outrights lately, I know there is still 1 year for that bet to be decided but I feel like that many differences must mean either some of these making odds themselves according to which team is bet most and change it accordingly or they must be actually getting it from a totally different place, whatever the case is I would love to learn their providers just
in case.

You are correct panjul07. Longevity only sets a cap in rating.

Maximum grade based upon time in business:

A - 2 years
B - 1 year
C - 3 months
D - 1 month

How could you say the rating is based on the operating year? Look at the list carefully, there are some older sites with lower rating compared to younger sites. I believe Peeps Place give the rating based on the reality which is happening to the site as well as based on user's review in this forum. This thread does not suggest reader to choose sportsbook by its age, I have no complain about the rating listed on the OP as maybe I'll have similar rating if I have to rate all those sites.

I think this only a prediction ranking. Because this post only depend on the operating year of every project.  I think it is better to make a ranking basis coming from accomplishnent and the project that many player or gamer are already played and continue to play about their site or project.  We don't need to look at the years, I think we need to look at the progresses and development.

Betcoin.ag/PlayBetr.com/Coinbet.ag data breach from former programmer of the software provider. Even though the ex-employee was able to see balances, there wasn't a threat of losing funds. Sportsbooks are under constant attacks from hackers.
