I am pretty sure guys with 1000 btc will be millionaire that time but 10?
I mean 2030 seems too early for that.
of course has 1000 BTC will become a millionaire, even today if it has 1000 BTC at current prices can be called a millionaire
I find it funny to see that no one seems to believe Bitcoin can rise by 200 times in 14 years while it has done much bigger things before. If only 1% of the world population will use Bitcoin than the price will have to be several orders of magnitude higher than it is now. $100,000 is absolutely nothing.
Even with $100,000 per Bitcoin we would be a relatively small currency.
So what if a handful of people become billionaires overnight? It's not like this has ne ear happened before in tech.
Did Facebook not get the billionth member because "oh no, if Facebook hits a billion members mark zuckerburg would become one of the richest persons of the world so a magical force will prevent Facebook from growing that big". No of course not.
A few people might become billionaires overnight, deal with it.
Most whales will have sold by then anyway.
That is what is called scale effect. It is much easier to grow a penny stock into a dollar per share, than a dollar stock into a $100 per share, although in both cases the increase is 100 fold. If you like Facebook example, take any Internet company that is on the stock exchange and ask yourself the following question: why despite all the successes in the recent 10 years or more, shares like Apple, Google or Facebook are still below $1k?
The same applies to Bitcoin. We went all the way from cents to $1k (which is btw. an amazing achievement), but it is much more difficult to grow further, if there is still relatively little done in terms of mass adoption, for example.
Well, they just had issued so many shares that it did not so far go above 1K, nothing more or less. BRK-A has few shares and it is at $193000/share.
According to this logic, bitcoin should be around $0.5-1.5, because that's where most G7 currencies are, hence it is not a stock.
If bitcoin goes much above $1k, nobody will use "whole" btc, will switch to using mbtc or even micro's as a default for typical small transactions.
