This all became irrelevant since there is a trust fund that will unlock 1.1 mil BTC on Jan 1 2020.
It will all depends on what happens then.

what you're talking about, what funds? and why in 2020?

yesterdays revelations:
http://www.wired.com/2015/12/bitcoins-creator-satoshi-nakamoto-is-probably-this-unknown-australian-genius/

whether he is or isn't is less relevant right now, but 1.1mil bitcoins trust fund is real for sure.

Quote
Wright’s “Tulip” trust fund of 1.1 million bitcoins may hold the key to that mystery. The trust fund PDF signed by Wright’s late friend David Kleiman keeps those coins locked in place until 2020...He could be leveraging the trust in less visible ways, like legally transferring ownership of money to fund his companies while still leaving it at the same bitcoin address...Or he might still be waiting for January 1st, 2020, a countdown to a date that could take the lid off the biggest cryptocurrency fortune in history.

Only those bitcoiners who have a lot of faith in the currency and its price, I doubt anyone else would be waiting for another 14-15 years. Cash in hand is two in a bush. Waiting for 2-3 years is the max risk one needs to take and not more. I hope BTC does manage to sustain as I can see many more crypto currencies being launched soon.

Even many other crypto-currencies will be launched, no one can match bitcoin.
For waiting for another 15 years, would be highly recommended if you are not able with all your bitcoins, at least with your 25% of bitcoins.
See, Satoshi is hoarding his bitcoins for more than 6 years. We need to learn to follow him.

I really like the naivety of guys here, that there will be still something called bitcoin in 2030;)

blockchain like technology? maybe. but bitcoin as we know him today? with those addresses, private keys, paper wallets and mobile apps? ohh:))

Well God forbid that Bitcoin stays as we know it today in 2030. If this would be the case, Bitcoin will surely be a history!

But a Bitcoin that will improve multiple and multiple times over the history will be more than possible and will be a reality, mark my words!

in 20 or more years we will all have some crypto credit or pay card and everything will be on crypto

what is crypto? something based on private and public key? or virtual money as we know them today on online bank accounts?

Well, if we look at the ecliptic curve, yes, you could be a millionaire by 2030. But the real question is. Will those millions be worth the same millions as they're worth today? The USD is going to become heavily inflated, like EUR, AUD and every other man made currency. Except bitcoin.

100 BTC? 0.00000001 BTC? Nah... extremes are not for me.

What do you guys think?

10btc in the subject and 100btc in the first post? Either will not make you a millionaire. They make make you a fair amount of money if you are around in 2030 or they will be worthless.

if with just 10BTC can make you become a millionaire , what about people who own 1000BTC? i think they'll be a quillionaire  Grin

yeah I like the quillionaire Cheesy because also people with small quantities can be just a bit with more cash than "days before".

but I read from some months same discussions about price that "will go up" Cheesy ... maybe one day Cheesy I think can reach good price for all!

Id be happy to see 100k a coin but without being delusional i cant see that ever happening. if we make 1 k id be pretty happy but still not rich Sad

If Bitcoin would reach its true potential and to do so it needs to solve its limitations, I see it being possible to reach these prices one day. This technology is truly groundbreaking with so much potential!

Also we have a lot of smart people working on solving Bitcoin problems and we will attract even more brain power as time passes. So why wouldn't we reach these prices one day?

BTW 1BTC = $100k means that Bitcoin marketcap would be around $1.9-2 trillion. US GDP is $17 trillion and World GDP is $75 trillion, so it's not a crazy estimate.

Do you really think Bitcoins will reach $100k in 2030???
If it reaches even 1/10th of that, we must feel lucky...
As after 5 years, the %s of increments are lowered a lot, and $100k is a very high target...

May I recommend you the following website?!

May I recommend you the following video?!
Title: Bitcoin 101 - Modelling the Price of Bitcoin - Is a $100,000 bitcoin possible?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2nXgK34HIM

As AtheistAKASaneBrain has already mentioned, Bitcoin has HUGE potential in several markets and still is compared to each of them very very tiny!
$100k is a lot and for now seems to be impossible to reach.
But I believe it is possible. And think a bit outside of the box and try to imagine what Bitcoin and blockchain apps might make possible and available, what we can't even think about right now!

its most definitely possible in my opinion in order for this to happen bitcoin has to be at about 100000 each so its achievable in 14 years for sure as it will evolve much more and the community will be way bigger then so i hope i will have a lot more money too
